Looking for information on Underwoods   223

Query posted by Proisu on July 25, 2000 for , UNDERWOOD, EPPERSON

Looking for information on John Elbert Underwood, Oct.1, 1866- Oct 22, 1941, my great-grandfather, who moved to Craig County, OK sometime in e-1900's from TN. From his obit., I found that he had two children: William, of Pawhuska; and Mrs. Raymond Epperson, Vinita. He died in Grove, OK, and was buried in Fairview Cemetery, Vinita. He was supposedly married to a Sarah Ballou, who died Mar. 11, 1944. Does anyone have any information on this family? I found a Mary Ann Epperson, Oct 14, 1909-Nov. 1, 1947, listed as being buried in Fairview Cemetery in Vinita. I was wondering if anyone would have any information on her? I was wondering if, by chance, this might be John E.'s daughter.

Looking for info on William C. Large listed in the Dawes Roll as living in Vinita, Craig Co., OK when he was 40 yrs.old in 1906. It also shows 2 daughers Eunice M. 13 in 1906 and Grace Lee 10 in 1906, and a son William Jr 3 in 1906. The list does not show William's wife Ardith Blakemore which leads me to believe that she may be a white woman.

There are two Confederate soldiers buried at Carselowey with small sandstone rock headstones, one of which was further damaged this past year when a limb from the big cedar they are under was blown off in one of our spring storms. They only have a cross and CSA on them. We would like more information on your Confederate soldier, please.
Thank you.

KING FAMILY   265

Query posted by Crowe, Phyliss on August 29, 2000 for , KING, MCCASLAND

Think my grandmother's maiden name was Estella Mae McCasland (sp). She's buried in the King family plot at Bartlett, Kansas, and I think she was about 98, 99 years old at her death in Coffeyville, Kansas, in 1984, which pinpoints her birth date as 1885 or '86
