"Bethel church at the occasion of its dedication 1893"
It was located NW of present day Kendrick, OK, legal land description 15N5Es6 (NW 1/4), shared in memory of JA & RF Hawes, who homesteaded there and were among the many who helped to build the church building.



Kendrick is a small town in northeastern Lincoln County, Oklahoma, originally established in the early 1900s. Originally known as Avondale, the post office was renamed Kendrick in 1903. The townsite was developed following land negotiations by Guthrie business leaders Uriah C. Guss and William H. Coyle. Key Historical Details: Location: Situated in Lincoln County, about two miles north of Interstate 44. Early Development: The area grew as a rural community with early institutions, including Baptist, Methodist, and Christian churches. Name Origin: The post office was renamed from Avondale to Kendrick in 1903, according to The Encyclopedia of Oklahoma History and Culture. Kendrick remains a small, rural community in Oklahoma.
