I'm looking for information on my paternal grandmother and her family. I'm trying to find out what tribe of Native Americans we stem from, and just generally more of the family history! My grandmother's name was Nellie Mae Isham, her father, John Isham, her mother, Mary Welkson. This is as far back as we've been able to trace. Nellie Mae was born in Tulsa, OK but the year is unknown...probably around 1880-90.

Does anybody know what happened to the records from the Tuberculosis Sanitariums when they were closed? I was told they went to the home County, Tulsa was the home county for my grandfather who was diagnosed with TB in 1907. He left home and went to the san. I have asked the county health department, and the Tulsa County Court house. No one seems to know anything about where they might be. I have little more than a name, birthdate, but no verified origin on my grandfather who died in 1926. I was hoping to access information from his medical record as to place of birth, etc. Can anyone direct me as to how to find these records? They just might give me a clue to go forward and find my ancestors in his line? Sincere Thanks for any help.
