I'm looking for my great grandfather who moved to OK from Omaha, NE after the death of his wife in 1905.  His death certificate states that he died in Tulsa, 1923  and was residing at 1220 E. Haskell Pl., he is buried in Rose Hill
Alexander C. Sillik (maybe spelled Sillick)
b-OH, he remarried and his wife was named Julia who died 12/181942 in Miller Nursing Home in Tulsa and is buried in a Catholic Cemetery (91st & South Harvard) under the name of Julia Sillak.
I subscribe to ancestry.com and have access to their images but there are hundreds of pages.
All I would need would be the town and the district numbers.
Also, do you know if I would be able to write to the county clerk and have a search done for a marriage certificate?  I do not know Julia's maiden name.

IN RESPONSE Posted by Barbara Meehan on 27Jan2002

If you will write to the Tulsa Genealogical Society, our Society Researcher, Linda Colvard, will be happy to locate and copy whatever appeared in the paper for you from the microfilm available at the Tulsa Central Library. In 1985 Tulsa had two newspapers, the Tulsa World and the Tulsa Tribune, and I would recommend that you ask Linda to copy both for you, if she finds them. She can also help you with the funeral home research. She's quick and she knows most of the funeral home staff personally. Our society has published funeral home records and has indexed them, so locating the correct funeral home should be fairly easy.

Linda provides this service for TGS as a fundraising endeavor, but there is not a set fee -- just a donation.

You can find a link to Society Researcher at our web site, www.tulsagenealogy.org, then click on Contacts. Or, send your request to Society Researcher

I don't know about Sand Springs, but there is a street in Tulsa, Ok. by the name of Phoenix Ave. The 700 block is just south of 3 rd street, and as you go west about a half mile, it was then referred to as Sand Springs Line.

BRADFORD Posted by Tim Lee on 27Jan2002

I am looking for Andrew Sanford Bradford and his wife Annie Josaphine. I believe they moved to the Tulsa Area sometime after 1910. I think they are both buried around Tulsa. According to an old letter written by Annie in 1928 Andrew was no longer with her and she could see the skyscrapers of Tulsa from her home. Does anyone have a suggestion on which cemetery they might be in and how to find out for sure? Did Oklahoma record death records in the 1920's? Thanks Pam Lee

HARMON, BENJAMIN, WEBB Posted by Ottice G. Webb on 30Jan2002

Seeking info on Edith Myree Harmon/Benjamin of Tulsa. She married Corporal Ambrose D. Webb, U.S. Marine Corps on Jan 16, 1936 at Beaufort, South Carolina. Corpral Webb died in an auto accident in Beaufort on Feb 13, 1937. Edith accompanied his body to Tulsa, where he was interred in the Memorial Cemetery. She was apparently from the Tulsa area. She probably remarried and lived out her life there in Oklahoma. Her last name is in question. The obituary in Corpral Webb's hometown newspaper of Irvine, Kentucky said she was Edith Benjamin before marriage. All of Ambrose Webb's family are now dead. His brother, who was my father, said that she was from a family that was "In Oil". Any info on Edith will be appreciated. I am working on the Webb family history and Edith has been a blank for a long time. What is her date of birth and or death?
