Sgt. John G. Hopkins

Now serving with the seventh army in Italy, is doing reconnaissance work.

Has been in combat both in North Africa and Sicily campaigns.

He attended Guthrie public schools and also at Ripley, Okla.

He is the son of J. C. Hopkins, Perkins and was a farmer before he entered the service August 9, 1940.

Hopkins, brother of Mrs. L. L. Cole, Guthrie, was awarded the silver star in Italy under General George Patton, on December 7, 1943.
