The library does have a genealogical section. Also, check the
surname file and the
lineage chart book, which was compiled by the Mayes
County Genealogical Society.

Exit toll-road at Chandler Ave,
which becomes Okmulgee Street. They have an excellent collection
of genealogical
records which includes extensive US census and Soundex, tribal records/enrollments
of the Five Civilized Tribes, and many records from other states. The library
has a full-time staff in
their genealogical section.

The Mayes County Gen. Society offers an
obit. look up and copy service for $5.00 each.
Meets at 7:00 PM on the second
Monday of each month at the Pryor Public Library. The society publishes
TreeSearchers, a quarterly publication, and back issues are available.
They are currently compiling and publishing the 1910 Mayes County census.
Individual membership is $10.00 per year. Visitors and inquiries are welcome.
