Mecklenburg County, North Carolina Deed Book 1:700-3 dated Sep 1763 - Davault purchased 250
acres on Killiams Creek from Bostian Best and wife Catherine.
Lincoln County, North Carolina Census: 2 males under 16; 3 males over 16; 2 females.
Will not recorded in a will book or estate papers, but filed in a miscellaneous file in Cape
Girardeau County Courthouse. Six living children. To eldest son Peter; Abraham; David;
Barbara wife of Daniel Bollinger; Margaret wife of Peter Ground; Catherine widow of Jacob Slangger (Slinkard).
Note in Missouri land claims that Davault was a crippled man and had a wife and one child still at
home when he settled on his land claim there. This claim was awarded to his son Peter and devised to Peter's heirs in 1851.

July 21 1820 issue of the "Missouri Herald" had the names of Henry Hofstatler and Joh Hofstatler on a list
of people for whom mail was being held at Jackson, Missouri. Apparently, the mail was picked up as the names
were not published on the next list of August 19, 1820. - "A Host of Huffstetlers."
Probate filed as Case 703, Box 34.

farmer and his place of birth was Stoddard County, Missouri. (Stoddard County was not formed until 1840
- he was born in Cape Girardeau County). He was present from Aug 7, 1862 - until October 31,
1862 at Camp Johnson, Searcy County, Arkansas. The rest of his records lists him as absent on fur low or absent sick.
