Retired Farmer Contractor
Dies
Nicholas A. Scheer, 80-year-old retired farmer, and
contractor, died early Monday in his home at 1129 NW
31 of cerebral hemorrhage. He had been ill four
years.
Roary will be at 8:15 p.m.
Tuesday in Smith & Kernke funeral chapel. Scheer was
born in Wichita, Kan. and came to Oklahoma as a
youth to a farm near Pond Creek in 1896. In 1908 he
moved to Okarche where he lived for about 12 years
before moving to Enid.
Scheer and his wife, Mrs.
Mary Scheer, who survives him, came here in 1940.
They celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary in
April this year. He was a member of the Lady of
Perpetual Help church.
Survivors are his wife, six
daughters, Mrs. John J. Cavanaugh, of the home; Mrs.
R. L. Patton, 1910 Guilford lane; Mrs. Fred G. Schoelen, Tonkawa; Mrs. J. C, Maxey, Grand Island,
Neb.; Mrs. Alvin Turner, Norman, and Mrs. Russell
Wynd, Arkansas City, Kan.; a son,
Harold Scheer,
2104 Cashion place; one brother, Theodore Scheer,
Denver, Colo.; 18 grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren.
Requiem mass will be at 9 a.m.
Wednesday in Our Lady's Cathedral with burial in
Fairlawn cemetery
