Daily Oklahoman, The Oklahoma City, Oklahoma September 25, 1999, page 5C Yoakum, Marion "Ted", age 81 of Choctaw, went to be with his heavenly father Sept 22, 1999. He was born Dec. 11, 1917 in Shamrock, Okla. to Missie Ingram & Jessie Arthur Yoakum. After leaving Shamrock, Okla., he moved to Konawa, Okla. & later to Newalla, Okla. where his mother operated the Newalla Train Depot around 1929, then moved to Okla. City where he was manager for the Yellow Cab. Co. and drove a taxi for 41 years and started a bus company with Yellow Cab. After leaving Yellow Cab Co. he went to work for the State Capitol Police and worked for 16 years until his retirement in 1984 and moved to Choctaw where he lived until his death. He served in 542 Parachute Regiment, 542 Parachute Battalion & 90th Glider Troops Inf. Division & 75th Inf. Divisi onin WWII.
Daily Oklahoman, The Ola Nadine Yoakum, age 84, went to be with the Lord on May 12, 2007. She was born July 3, 1922 to Lushen and Jimmie Williams in Henryetta, OK.
