Rebekah Lodge Marks Anniversary

The 16th anniversary of the founding of the Okemah Rebekah Lodge was celebrated at the I. O. O. F. Hall Wed. night with a banquet.

Gladys Best presided as toastmistress announcing the program which was opened with an invocation by W. E. Bynum.

Introductions were made by Agnes Oard of Okmulgee.

Joe Day made the welcome remarks for the host chapter and Maryetta Brown of Seminole gave the response.

Musical numbers were presented by a trio composed of Phyllis Gower, Zona McMillan and Laura Summers. A clarinet solo was played by Betty Clymer; Donna Townsend played the accompaniments.

Remarks were made by Everett Hess of Okla. City. A tribute to the charter members by Myrtle Earnest and the lodge history by Elmira Legrand.

Several other speakers included Anges Oard and Walter Ingram of Henryetta.

The benediction was given by J. C. Johnson.

About 75 members and guests were seated at the banquet tables which were decorated with cut flowers in a color note of pink and green.
