This is a picture of Richard's great great grandparents. John Newton SHEPHERD and his wife Harriet (HENDERSON) SHEPHERD standing in front of their cabin in Guthrie, Oklahoma. The date and info on the back is: Feb 6th 1899 and Flower St. 137. John was a carpenter, a Methodist Episcopal Minister, and a veteran of the Civil War (Iowa 33 Inf Co. I). John, his wife and his mother (Ann (CALVERT) SHEPHERD) are buried in Lawrie Cemetery.
