Frank & Claudia White Ahrnsbrak

   In 1917 Frank married Claudia White who was teaching at Pleasant Ridge School. Frank and Claudia had three children: Charlotte born Dec. 10, 1918, Francis H. born Sept 19, 1921, and John born Aug 9, 1923. Frank died in 1936 and Claudia in 1964. They are both buried in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. (Claudia Frances White is daughter of Thomas M. White and Charlotte "Lottie" Knutson, and siblings are her twin Carl Clarence, Ethel Marie and Edwin Maurice (twins), Tessie May, Nellie Augusta, and Arthur Donald White.)
   Charlotte married Richard Miller, Mulhall. They live in the Mulhall community. They have three children, Richard Jr., Ann and Catherine.
   John lives in Ellensburg, Washington and has four children, David, Julie, James and John.
   The Ahrnsbrak farm now belongs to Francis H. who lives in Guthrie and who retired recently from Arameo Saudia Arabia. Francis married Mary Ann McNally, Guthrie. They have two children, Patricia and Machael.

FRANK AHRNSBRAK AND GERTRUDE (HUBBELL)


   One of the farms taken in the run of 1889 and still belongs to a member of the family, it is the Ahrnsbrak farm southeast of Marshall. (legal description- NW 1/2 19-19-3W)
   Frank Ahrnsbrak, who was eighteen years old at the time made the run on horseback. He had been through some of Oklahoma Territory having worked as a cowboy in the Cherokee Strip. His father, John Ahrnsbrak wanted him to stake a claim for him since he sort of knew the country. Frank knew the claim he wanted but when he got there a man had already staked it, so he staked the one next to it. After a few days the man came to see him and told him he would sell him his claim since his wife didn't want to stay in Oklahoma Territory. So Frank sold his claim and scraped up the money and bought the farm he wanted.
   The family lived at South Haven, Kansas having moved there from Jefferson City, Iowa where all the children were born. John Ahrnsbrak was born in Germany in 1838 and was seven yrs. Old when he came to America with his parents.
   His wife Louisa Krackenburger was born in Wisconsin in 1844. They were married in Wisconsin in 1864. Their children were Anna, born in 1868, Frank born in 1870, George in 1872, and Emma born in 1883.
   After Frank staked the claim his father and brother came down and they lived in a dugout until they got a house built for Mrs. Ahrnsbrak and the girls.
   In Jan. 1892 John Ahrnsbrak died with pneumonia. The following winter, December 1892 George also died with pneumonia. Louisa died in 1911. All are buried in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
   Frank married Gertrude Hubbell in 1896. Four children were born to them. Leslie was born Aug 27, 1898, Vernon born Dec 4, 1899, Durward born Feb 3, 1903 and Lucielle born Feb. 14, 1905. Gertrude Ahrnsbrak died in 1915. Leslie married Hattie yeager from the Mulhall community. They had five children: Gertrude, Arnold, Betty, Madonna and Leonard. None live in Oklahoma. Leslie died in 1953 and Hattie died in 1970. They also are buried in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
   Vernon married Lora Doggett in Mulhall. Ther are three children, Clyde, Donald and Maxine. None live in Logan County. Donald married Doris Hannah, daughter of Mr. And Mrs George Hannah, Guthrie. Lora died in 1949 and Vernon died in 1955. They are buried in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
   Durward married Alice Miller, Marshall. They had three children, Russell, Nancy and Corletta. They moved to California in 1940. Durward passed away in 1961. Alice lives in Sacramento.
   Lucielle married Hugh Gray, Mulhall. They live in Orangeville California, and have three daughters, Phyllis, Patricia and Gloria. Lucille passed away in 1979.
   Frank's older sister Anna Ahrnsbrak married Louis Parker a former neighbor who had gone to Washington. He came back in 1900 when they were married and returned to Washington. There were four children, Margie, Clive, Chester and Irene. Anna died in 1916.
   The other sister Emma Ahrnsbrak married Tivis Johnson, Cresent. There were two children, Frank and Violet, both deceased. Tivis died and Emma maried Jeff Dishman, Marshall. There are two children, Louise and Eugene. Emma died in 1952.
