James Harrison Henson

FOURTH GENERATION
JAMES HARRISON HENSON

James Harrison Henson was the son of Robert Henson and Catherine Scarbrough.
He was born on March 29, 1864/65(*March 24, 1866) in Casey County, Kentucky.
He moved with parents to Arkansas.
James married Martha Emily Birkes, daughter of Isaac Birkes and Sarah E. Robbins
on August 17, 1890. She was born on November 5, 1866. James and Martha had eight children:

(1) James Newton, b. May 17, 1891; m. June 29, 1913 to Mary Jane Newby.

James and Martha moved their family in the early 1900's to Oklahoma.
They had a farm near Foster, Oklahoma. James died on December 12, 1929
(of pneumonia) and was buried in the Foster Cemetery in Garvin County, Oklahoma.
Martha died in in 1955 or 1956 and was also buried in the Foster Cemetery next
to her husband.

FIFTH GENERATION
RUBY JEWEL HENSON


Ruby Jewel Henson was the daughter of James Harrison Henson and Martha Emily Birkes.
She was born on September 7, 1899 in Rogers, Arkansas. As a child she moved with her
family to Oklahoma where she was raised on a farm.
She first married August 26, 1917 to Asa Leeder, who worked on her father's farm.
He was born on July 25, 1876 in Michigan. They had six children:

(1) Charley Elbert, b. June 8, 1918, d. October 7, 1928, buried Foster Cemetery,Foster, OK.
(2) Robert Lee, b. September 17, 1919(See later).
(3) Infant son, b. & d. April 21, 1921.
(4) Dora Elizabeth, b. September 22, 1922; m. Leon Caver,Jr. (See later).
(5) Thurman Henry, b. Ocotber 5, 1925, Garvin Co., OK, d. October 7, 1954, buried in Fairview
Cem., Pampa, TX; WWII Vet.
(6) Asa, Jr., b. June 22, 1927, d. June 29, 1933(drowning).

Ruby and Asa later divorced. Asa died on May 23, 1957 in Oklahome. He was buried in
Foster Cemetery, Foster, Oklahoma.
She later remarried to Edwin L. Phillips,Jr.. He was born on October 14, 1892.
They had four children:

ROBERT LEE LEEDER


Robert Lee Leeder is the son of Asa Leeder and Ruby Jewel Henson. He was born on
September 17, 1919 in Garvin County, Oklahoma.
He married Lillie Marie Chapman("Peggy"), the daughter of Floyd Chapman in 1953.
They have three children:

(1) Bobby Dale; m. Becky Sue(-).

DORA ELIZABETH LEEDER

Dora Elizabeth Leeder is the daughter of Asa Leeder and Ruby Jewel Henson.
She was born on September 22, 1922.
She married in 1942 to Leon Caver, Jr.,the son of Leon Caver, Sr.
and Nora Lucile Christian.

ALLEN DALE PHILLIPS

Allen Dale Phillips was the son of Edwin L. Phillips and Ruby Jewel Henson.
He was born on March 19, 1934.
He married Phyllis (-) in Texas. They had three children:

(3) Son

He later married Ruby Lenora Caver, the daughter of Leon Caver,Jr. and Dora Elizabeth Leeder.
They had four children:

(4) Ronnie Dale, b. January 5, 1961, Ft. Walton Beach, Florida.

Joyce Arlena Phillips is the daughter of Edwin L. Phillips and Ruby Jewel Henson.
She was born on August 5, 1936.
She first married on April 30, 1954 to Chester Johnson and later to Bolton Willis.
She has six children

She was born on October 15, 1901.
She first married on December 19,1919 to Tandy Walker. They had seven or more children:

(5) Nettie
(6) Gladys
(7) Yvonne

Myrtle later married to Red Pierce. Both are now deceased and no other
information on this line is known.

She was born on November 11, 1903 near Yaeger, Oklahoma.
