Fannie L. "Jimmie" Bowman

Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel in Duncan, with the Rev. John Douthitt officiating. Burial will be in the Arlington Memorial Cemetery in Oklahoma City.

Mrs. Bowman was born on Aug. 30, 1921, in Farris, Atoka County, Oklahoma, to James M. Hembree (1880-1965) and Mary M. Lowe Hembree (1883-1964), who both preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were 5 brothers, Mike (1902-1986), Garfield "Gar" (1904-1976), Marion "Yank" (1905-1968), Frank "Sonny" (1918-1969) and Harmon Hembree (1919-2000) and 5 sisters: Lovis Cullens (1908-1995), Matilda Miller (1909-1936), Helen (1910-1919) and Elaine Hembree (1915-1917) and Bertha Bryant (1924-1991).

She married Hollis McDaniel in 1939. He preceded her in death in 1964. She married Thomas Bowman in 1965, and he preceded her in death in 1970.

Mrs. Bowman was a homemaker and also was a cafe operator until her retirement in 1962.

She was a member of the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in Duncan.

Surviving relatives include two daughters, Rayleda Wheeler of Dallas and Gloria Martin of Houston, Texas; a sister, Mary Jane Standifer of Bakersfield, California; and five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

DALLAS - Fannie L. "Jimmie" Bowman, 80, of Dallas died Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, in Plano, Texas.
