Carr Family History

The Carr family came to Kentucky by Covered Wagon. Some of them stayed there, and several of the brothers migrated to Tennessee. Others went to Van Buren, Ark. Here, John A. Carr met Miss. MacPherson. The family continued their journey to Buey, Texas. They rested awhile them moved on to Collins Co, Texas.

Mary Emma Brown, married Ed Carr. Mary was the daughter of Sarah Adams Brown. Sarah Adams Brown later married my Great Grandfather, Benjamin Franklin Jones. John A. Carr was laid to rest in Wolf Creek Cemetery, the same as Sarah Jones. This is near Utica, Okla.

This Carr Family built a cattle empire. My Grandfather, Leslie Jones' parent died before 1900. He was raised by the Brown sisters. I have heard the story of how they drove cattle to Atoka, Oklahoma.
