1915 Atlas

Jackson County

Railroad Stations are shown in red.

The northwest to southeast line through Altus was the W. F. & N. W.  It was later taken over by the M. K. T., but the portion northwest of Altus had been abandoned by 1972.

The east-west line was also the W. F. & N. W.  It ran from Wellington TX through Harmon and Jackson Counties to Altus.  The portion from Hollis to Altus was still operating in 1972 as the Hollis and Eastern, but Shirk shows the segment from Hollis to Duke as having been abandoned by 1986.

The north/south line through Altus was the Kansas City, Mexico & Orient.  It was later acquired by the Santa Fe but had been abandoned by 1972.

The St. Louis & San Francisco extends northeast from the Texas border, then turns east at Altus.  It was still in operation in 1972.

The Atlas shows no roads in Jackson County.  The thin lines are rivers and creeks.
