The old Pettit school used to be where Pettit Bay (in the north part of
the camping park) at Lake Tenkiller is now. The later Pettit school house was
moved north of Pettit Bay. There is an old Pettit cemetery located just east of
the old school house. Names of the ones in this picture are as follows; Front
row from left: Henry Dawes, Cicero Parson, Ted Dawes
and Bryan Lawley.
Second row: Boon Griffin, Elmer Edwards, Frank
Lawley, Myrtle Parson, Alta Edwards, Aggie Parson, unknown, unknown, Maude Lawley, Charlie Terrell and Albert Dawes.
Back row: Ray Ballard, Jess Cochran, Gertie

Pettit. The schoolteacher, Carl Connor, is on the right.”
