Simpson Brinsfield

My G-Grandparents,
Simpson and Elvira "Redding" Brinsfield.

I'm told they came to Okla. early 1887, settled in the Econtuchka Bottoms (N. of Shawnee), went back to Arkansas, then returned by wagon train to Wewoka, Seminole Co., in 1889. On April 22 he was in Guthrie, Oklahoma for the Land Run, the land was to dry to farm so he returned to Wewoka, Seminole Co. He returned to Arkansas again. Finally in 1893 he came back to the Wewoka, Seminole Co. Okla area, and passed away there in 1916 and is buried in the Butner Cemetery.  He and his wife raised a total of 10 children , in 1916, 8 of the ten were in the same vicinity with the exception of two. One had passed away, and one had moved to Eufaula, McIntosh Co., Okla.
