Graveside services for Leon DAVIS, 65, of Porum, are being held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Box Cemetery in Vian with Bro. Bill Smith officiating under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. DAVIS was born Dec. 18, 1942, in Vian, to Jess Allen DAVIS and Artie Violet (HENDRIX) DAVIS. He died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008, in Muskogee. He married Daisy Sue “Cindy” TONEY, Feb. 23, 1963, in Van Buren, Ark. Survivors include his wife, “Cindy” of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law, Shirlene and Rusty, Jeanene and David, and Rhonda and Vic; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Ruth Ann; special cousin, Wyatt; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; his mother; one sister, Joann BYRD; and two brothers, George and John. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Leisa DAVIS and his father.

Services for Homer E. COX, 71, of Sallisaw, are being held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Lee’s Chapel Cemetery in Muldrow with the Rev. Vernon Stone officiating. Burial of cremains is in Lee’s Chapel Cemetery, in Muldrow, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. COX was born June 30, 1937, in Chowchilla, Calif., to Homer Victor COX and Marie (ROBERTS) COX. He died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008, in Sallisaw. He married Deloris Annabelle REECE, July 22, 1955, in Stigler. Survivors include his wife, Deloris of the home; five daughters, Cynthia, Brenda, Barbara and Crystal and Lisa; one special niece, Angel; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Jack COX, one grandchild, Miranda JOHNSON and his parents.

Funeral services for Lois Evelyn FOUTS, 87, of Muldrow are being held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 7 at Lee’s Chapel Assembly of God Church in Muldrow with the Revs. Don Allensworth and Bobby Mason and Patricia Huggins officiating. Burial is in Lee’s Chapel Cemetery in Muldrow under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow. Mrs. FOUTS was born on Aug. 19. 1921, in Charleston, Ark., to John CORBELL and Goldie (GILBERT) CORBELL. She died Monday, Nov. 3, 2008 in Fort Smith, Ark. She married Ernest Layfette FOUTS on Nov. 25, 1939, in Fort Smith. He preceded her in death March 17, 1982, in Muldrow. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda and Larry, and Patricia and Richard; three sons and daughters-in-law, Ernieand Marci, and J.R. and Terena, and Mike and Becky; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Francis; and several other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Cindy DAWS and several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services for David M. FULLBRIGHT, 91, of Sallisaw, are being held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Akins Baptist Church with the Rev. Vernon Smith officiating. Burial is in Akins Cemetery, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. FULLBRIGHT was born March 8, 1917, in Akins, to Drew FULLBRIGHT and Hettie (MILLER) FULLBRIGHT. He died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008, in Fort Smith, Ark. He married Lois RANDOLPH, Oct. 26, 1938, in Sallisaw. Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Lois of the home; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Roy, Alfred and Janelle, Billy and Judy, and Dennis and Rita; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Gus and Bill; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one son, Troy FULLBRIGHT, parents, one sister, Modene SELLS and one brother, Jessie FULLBRIGHT.

Funeral services for Vernon Lee GIRTY, 57, of McLoud, formerly of Webbers Falls, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Assembly of God Church in Webbers Falls with the Revs. Wendell Cox and Pat Alexander officiating. Burial was in Tom Girty Cemetery, under the direction of Millsap Funeral Service of Webbers Falls. Mr. GIRTY was born Dec. 23, 1950, in Checotah, to Martin and Viola Mae (CLAIRDAY) GIRTY. He died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, in Ardmore. He married Peggy REECE, Aug. 29, 2003, in Love County. Survivors include his wife, Peggy GIRTY of Shawnee; daughter, Caitlin; son, John; one granddaughter; four sisters, Jeanne and Bob, Yvonne and J.D., Avonne and Dale and Barbara Jean “B.J.”; nieces and nephews, Shannon and Brian, Debbie and Kevin, Sherri and Clinton, Tammye and David, Lauren Gale and Shelby Lynne; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Roy and Jerry REECE; sisters-in-law, Corliss and Wayne, and Audra and Billy; and brothers-in-law, Roy Jr., and Jeff and Elsa. Funeral services for Jerry L. “J.L” GRINDELE, 69, of Sallisaw, are being held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Blunt Baptist Church, north of Sallisaw, with the Rev. Gary Flynn officiating. Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the U.S. National Cemetery, in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, with the Rev. Mike Ramsdell officiating, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. GRINDELE was born April 7, 1939, in Marlow, to Joseph Alonzo GRINDELE and Elsie Naomi (KESTER) GRINDELE. He died Monday, Nov. 3, 2008, in Fort Smith, Ark. He married Gwen TOMLINSON, Nov. 10, 1956, in Dallas. She preceded him in death, Sept. 22, 2004, in Sallisaw Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Gail, and Elizabeth and James; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Shawn and Belinda, and Mark; five grandchildren; one brother, James Howard; seven half brothers and sisters, Kay, Linda, Timmy, Jerry, Debbie, Patty and William; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by one son, John Wesley GRINDELE, his parents and one brother, Joe GRINDELE.

Funeral services for Jason B. HENRY, 38, of Andover, Kan., were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Mallory Chapel in Stigler with the Rev. Tommie Parker and Eddie Groves officiating. Burial was in Garland Cemetery, under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory of Stigler. Mr. HENRY was born April 10, 1970, in Wichita, Kan. He died Friday, Oct. 31, 2008, in Oxford, Miss. Survivors include his mother and step-father, Judy and Jim ROSS; three sisters, Kari and her husband, Daryl, Cheryl and her husband, John, and Cindy and her husand, Kenny; three brothers, James and his wife, Laura, Terryl and Jarod; grandmother, Lorene CARRY; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Terry HENRY and maternal grandfather, Boyd I. CARRY.

Raymond Charles LENNON, 60, of Muldrow, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, in Muldrow. No formal service is planned and cremation is under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. LENNON was born Feb. 8, 1948, in Village od Margaretville, N.Y. to Albert LENNON and Catherine (MEKER) LENNON. Survivors include three step-sons, David and his wife, Mary, Ray and his wife, Kay, and Rick and Rhonda; and one sister, Betty. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Joyce LENNON.

Funeral services for Jean “Big John” McMAHAN, 62, of Sallisaw, were held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Agent Chapel in Sallisaw with the Rev. Tommy Ballard officiating. Burial was in the Sallisaw City Cemetery, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. McMAHAN was born April 30, 1946, in Belgium, to Willard R. McHAHAN and Gisele Renee (BOURTEMBOERG) McMAHAN. He died Friday, Oct. 31, 2008, in Fort Smith, Ark. Survivors include one aunt, Helen; and several cousins and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services for Vernon Loyd RIDDLE, 82, of Roland are being held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith, Ark., with the Rev. Richard Dickinson officiating.  Burial is in Roland City Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith. Mr. RIDDLE was born on Oct. 18, 1926, in Roland to William and Fairy RIDDLE. He died on Nov. 4, 2008, in Fort Smith. Survivors include four children, Cynthia and her husband, Marty, Sheryl and her husband, Larry, Darcy, and Vernon Loyd Jr.;12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers Jay and Johnny; and two sisters Lillian and Maggie.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 49 years, Orberdell RIDDLE.

Funeral services for Mona Roberta DAVIS RITTER, 75, of Vian, were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Assembly of God Church in Vian with the Rev. Jim Murphy officiating. Burial was in Box Cemetery, north of Vian, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. RITTER was born Jan. 13, 1933, in Vian, to Thomas Estle DAVIS and Ted Opal (MATTHEWS) DAVIS. She died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, in Vian. She married Harold Jackson RITTER, July 20, in Van Buren, Ark. Survivors include her husband, Harold “Sonny” RITTER of the home; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sally, and Mona and Roy and Debra and Joel; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Glenda; two brothers, Tommy and Jimmy; and special daughter, Joyce. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son-in-law, Jim ARMSTRONG, one sister, Ruth FLANAGAN and two brothers, Harold and Vernon DAVIS.

Walton McKinney officiating, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. RITTER was born Dec. 29, 1959, in Hawaii, Nev., to Ellis Edgar JAMES Sr. and Margaret Louise (COX) JAMES. She died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, in Tulsa. She married Kenneth Dee RITTER, June 7, 1986, in Fort Smith. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth of the home; four daughters and sons-in-law, Tracy and Tyrone, Michelle and Jack, Cheryl and Martin Jr. and Joanna and Bobby; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Casey, and Billy and Jennifer; 17 grandchildren; four great-granddaughters; father; six brothers; and several nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother.

Burial was in Blackjack Cemetery, northwest of Muldrow, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow. She was born July 29, 1961, in Atoka, to Louis Franklin ROBISON and Jackie Atha (Williamson) ROBISON. She died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008, in Fort Smith, Ark. Survivors include four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Jackie, Tommie Kay and David, Carolyn, and Judy and Dwain; five brothers and four sisters-in-law, Dempsey and Jan, Jimmy and Iris, Wayne and Chris, Gary and Judy, and David; one aunt, Joann; friend and classmate, Karen; and several other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Debra Jo PALMER, one nephew, John Paul PALMER and one brother-in-law, Jim STREETER.

He died Monday, Nov. 3, 2008, in Muldrow. He married Margaret Ann McLEMORE, Sept. 5, 1949, in Fort Smith, Ark Survivors include his wife, Margaret of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Blakely; one son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Vicki; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara and Sue; special friends, Harold and Agnes, Stan and Robin and son, Little Joe; and several other relatives and friends. She died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008, in Tahlequah. Survivors include one brother, Ethan; her parents; godmother, Jessica CRASE; grandparents, Stephen and Joanna BATT, and Bill and Brenda WATTS; great-grandparents, Raymond and Bonnie KNIGHT, Bernie and Betty COOPER, Jerry and Mary SIMS, Mary BOWLES and Alton POINDEXTER; one aunt, Kayla; two uncles, Neil and Lindsey, and Mike and Stacey. Charlie Thompson officiating, under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. HARRISON was born Jan. 1, 1922, in Stilwell, to Jess Sr. and Mamie (ADAMS) HARRISON. He died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008, in Muskogee. Survivors include his wife, Edna of the home; four daughters, Patricia, Cecelia, Charlotte and Cherokee; two sons, Patrick and Jesse; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and son Michael Jess HARRISON.

Graveside services for Thelma O’NEAL SUTTERFIELD, 81, of Vian, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Round Mountain Cemetery, west of Vian, with the Elder Dwayne Davis officiating, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. SUTTERFIELD was born Sept. 5, 1927, in Tahlequah, to T.F. BROWN and Gracie Lee (SCOTT) BROWN. She died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008, in Vian. She married Eugene SUTTERFIELD, June 12, 1978, in Vian. Survivors include her husband, Eugene of the home; three daughters, Carol, Brenda and Lavada; one son, Donald; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Martha, Allie Mae and Alta Mae; two brothers, Delmar Leon and Edgar Ray; and several other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Shelly TERRY, parents and two brothers, Huie and A.J. BROWN.

Private funeral services for Randy Dean YARBROUGH, 47, of Gore, will be held at a later date. Cremation was under the direction of Agent Funeral Home. Mr. YARBROUGH was born Feb. 21, 1961, in Thomaston, Ga. He died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008, in Gore. Survivors include Sandy; four sisters, Faye, Linda, Deborah and Jerry, and Myrna and Preston; four nieces, Heather, Lindsey and Jessica and Andrea; three nephews, Billy and Mike and David; and one great-niece, Lilly.

Survivors include one son, Kenneth; two sisters, Kathleen . and Augusta Earnestine; one brother, Cecil Clay; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Pansy Mae COIL and Bessie Sue WYATT.

Burial was in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, in Vian, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. HARAWAY was born Jan. 10, 1929, in Wetumka, to Edgar NOLEN and Lora (BLACK) NOLEN. She died Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, in Vian. She married James Donald HARAWAY, May 15, 1952, in Van Buren, Ark. He preceded her in death, March 29, 2001, in Fort Smith, Ark. Survivors include one daughter, Nan; two sons, Dale, and Joe and his wife, Donna; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marie and her husband, Richard, and Suzy and her husband, Jimmy; and several other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Tommy, Dale and Glen Peewee NOLEN.

She died Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, in Fort Smith, Ark. Survivors include one daughter, Barbara; one son, James; one sister, Minnie; one brother, Charles and his wife, Helen; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Benjamin BENTON Jr. and one sister Beulah Mae BENTON.

Mr. ROWE died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008. He married Martha HENRY, Dec. 13, 1952, in Arkansas. Mrs. Schimming was born Feb. 24, 1949, in Fort Smith, Ark., to Sam CANNON and Faye Nina (WILSON) CANNON. She died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008, in Fort Smith. She married Jerry SCHIMMING, Dec. 6, 1974, in Fort Smith. Survivors include her husband, Jerry of the home; one son, B.J.; two grandchildren; one special aunt, Maye; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and one special uncle, Bethel.

She died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, in Fort Smith, Ark. Survivors include five daughters, Jean and her husband, Kenneth, Carolyn and her husband, Eddie, and Janice and her husband, Roger, Susie and her husband, Don, and Marla; one son, Star Jr. ; two sisters, Virginia and Irene; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Star SIMS Sr., several brothers and sisters and one grandson, Jared EDWARDS.

Funeral services for Abe C. ALLEN, 73, of Gore, are being held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Agent Chapel in Sallisaw. Cremation is under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. ALLEN was born Dec. 13, 1934, in Claremore, to Roy ALLEN and Flora (KIRKENDOLL) ALLEN. He died Monday, November 17, 2008, in Gore. He married Martha Jane BUCKLEY, April 11, 1954, in Yuma, Ariz. She preceded him in death, Jan. 22, 2005 in Muskogee. Survivors include two daughters, Marcella and Gayle; one son, Davide; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, JoAnn, Francis and Lou; five brothers, Noah, Paul, Jesse, Ben and Bill; and several other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by one son, Tim ALLEN and two brothers, Leroy and Eddie.

Carroll H. DIAL, age 75, born in Sallisaw, Ok on October 26, 1932, son of Harrison and Marry Elizabeth "Lizzie" DIAL, passed away October 8, 2008 in Long Beach CA. Carroll and Rose Mary had 58 years of love and blessings in thheir marriage. They were blessed with two sons, Douglas and Danny Ray. Carroll was preceeded in death by son, Danny; brother Eugene DIAL of Shreveport, LA; and sister, Irene STEMBOUGH of Muldrow. Carroll is survived by wife, Rose Mary, of Long Beach, CA; son Douglas; one grandson; and one grand-daughter, and one great-granddaughter; brothers Charles and wife, Frances, and Wayne and wife, Nancy; Sisters Geneva; Lois and husband, Jake; Mary Jo and husband, LeRoy. Carroll was put to rest by the side of son, Danny, in Bellevue, WA on October 24. 2008.

He preceded her in death, Nov. 11, 1994, in Vian. She married Thomas Alvin “Tom” LAMB, Feb. 8, 1971, in Tucson, Ariz. He preceded her in death, July 14, 2004, in Roland. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Mike; one granddaughter; one sister, Arna; and several other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

She died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, in Fort Smith, Ark. She married Everett Charles “Dutch” MEYER, June 29, 1969. He preceded her in death, Dec. 11, 1987. Survivors include one son, Dale; two daughters, Linda and Carolyn; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mae; one brother, Noland; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Joy; one granddaughter; four sisters, Betty, Letty, Collene and Joanne; and one brother, Lee. Mr. SIMONS was born April 16, 1929, in Hammond, Ind., to Leslie Franklin SIMONS and Delsie Faye (NOE) SIMONS. He died Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, in Vian. He married Mary HOWE, May 15, 1963, in Lexington Park, Md. She preceded him in death, Dec. 24, 2002. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Hope, and Donald and Luci; one daughter, Laura May; one step-son, Merlin; one sister, Maxine; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one daughter-in-law, Gladys PLEW.

Juanita (COPELAND) WATTS, a lifelong resident of Sallisaw was born October 23, 1915 in Sequoyah County, Ok. to James andrew COPELAND and Lillie Maudella (PATTERSON) COPELAND. Juanita was predeceased by her parents; one sister, Iva CAVES; two brothers, Orville COPELAND and Wayne PITTMAN. Juanita is surivived by her son, Jimmy and his wife Ellen; two daughters, Wynona, and Jessie and her husband, Wayne. Three grandchildren; one great granddaughter, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at 2 p m at Oakridge Assembly of God Church in Sallisaw, Ok with services officiated by Rev Gary Mullen. Burial will be in Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home.

Burial was in Salem Cemetery, in Cedarville, Ark., under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren. Mr. BARNETT died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008, in a local hospital. Survivors include his wife, Audra BARNETT of the home; one daughter, Rita; two sons, Gary and Terry; two sisters, Lola and Linda; three brothers, Cecil, Eugene and Charles Kenneth; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one son, Larry BARNETT and one brother, Samuel BARNETT.

Clell Stanley PREWETT, born February 21, 1931 in Nicut, Oklahoma. Died November 19, 2008 in Reno, Nevada.
