Graveside services for Lyla Lee ANTHONY, 85, of Sallisaw were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. ANTHONY was born on Feb. 15, 1927, in Sallisaw to Roy H. MILLS and Etta (LYNCH) MILLS. She died on Friday, April 27, 2012, in Fort Smith, Ark. She was a retired technical writer from Naval Ammunition in McAlester. Survivors include one son, Bill ELSWICK of Tulsa; two sisters, Polly LACKEY of Sallisaw and Wanda HENSLEY of Preston; one brother, John MILLS of Edwardsville, Kan.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Robert MILLS; and one great-granddaughter.

Graveside services for Jackie Carol BREEDLOVE, 54, of Grove are being held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lee’s Chapel Cemetery in Muldrow with the Rev. Shawn Money officiating under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. BREEDLOVE was born on Oct. 10, 1957, in Bell Gardens, Calif., to James KEITH and Joann Rose KEITH. She died on Monday, April 30, 2012, in Grove. She was a machinist. Survivors include her husband, Owen David BREEDLOVE of the home; one daughter, Michelle SQUIRES of Arlington, Texas; two sons, Wesley BREEDLOVE of Port Graham, Alaska and Dave BREEDLOVE of Grove; one brother, Mike KEITH of Roland; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Ronnie and Jim KEITH.

Funeral services for Lois Mae STANHOPE BIGBY, of Gore are being held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Gore with the Rev. Wendell Cox officiating. Burial is at White Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Bradley Funeral Service of Muskogee. Mrs. BIGBY was born on May 13, 1934. She died on Sunday, April 29, 2012. She enjoyed country music and spending time with her family. Survivors include two sons, Jack STANHOPE and wife, Trudy of Fort Worth, Texas and Donnie STANHOPE and wife, Marie of Gore; two daughters, Donna SHEFFIELD of Tahlequah and Brenda BARNES of Muskogee; one brother, Buzz THOMAS of Muskogee; one sister, Lucy FERGUSON of Gore; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, John THOMAS; mother, Dora CRUZ; sisters, Catherine ENSEY and Mildred WILLIAMS; and the father of her children, Jack STANHOPE. Pallbearers are Keith McDaniel, Brad McKone, Tyler Crooks, Austin Stanhope, Darren Stanhope and Donnie Stanhope.

Graveside services for Lois Judy COX, 67, of Sallisaw were held at 10 a.m. Monday at Akins Cemetery with the Rev. Daryn Crawford officiating under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. COX was born on May 31, 1944, in Vinita to Hugh ROBERTS and Bonnie (SHAFFER) ROBERTS. She died on Thursday, April 26, 2012, in Sallisaw. She was a homemaker. She married Donnie Ray COX on Aug. 17, 1990, in Sallisaw. Survivors include her husband, Donnie of the home; two sons, Rick TAFF of Tulsa and Chris TAFF of Nixa, Mo.; two stepsons, Clint and Logan COX, both of Sallisaw; one stepdaughter, Tammy HORN of Sallisaw; her parents, of Locust Grove; one sister, Joy JACOBS of Fayetteville, Ark.; one brother, Jim SHAFFER of Tahlequah; and 11 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Jerry and Eddie TAFF.

Memorial services for James Charles “J.C.” DELK, 66, of Muldrow will be held at a later date. Cremation is under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel. Mr. DELK was born on Dec. 24, 1945. He died on Friday, April 27, 2012. Survivors include his wife, Eula DELK; seven children, Jerry and Loretta HENSON of Berryville, Ark., Kenny and Tena DELK of Liberty, Marsha and Dan JONES of Fargo, N.D., Melisa and Tony DANIELS of Harrison, Ark., Tammy and James BARTLETT of Mountain Home, Ark., James “Bo” and Crystal DELK of Liberty and Kristy Watts and Mike PLOWMAN of Muldrow; one brother, T.G. DELK of Mena, Ark.; three sisters, Jo HARRELL of Jonesboro, Ark., Shirley BELL of Omaha, Ark., and Rose WHITESIDE of Washington; 27 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and several other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sparlin and Oma DELK; two brothers; four sisters; one son; and a granddaughter.

Funeral services for Claude Otis FREE, 92, formerly of Muldrow, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Assembly of God Church in Muldrow with the Revs. Andy O’Neal and Shawn Money officiating. Burial was at Roland City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow, Mr. FREE was born on Dec. 27, 1919, in Muldrow to Ed FREE and Ruth (MOTON) FREE. He died on Saturday, April 28, 2012, in Gore. He was retired from Harding Glass and a retired minister after 70 years. He married Juanita CLARK on July 31, 1989, in Fort Smith, Ark. Survivors include his wife, Juanita FREE of the home; two daughters, Shirley LANEY of Muldrow and Robbie DAUGHERTY of Panama; one son, Mac FREE of Lavaca; two stepsons, Billie and Harold CLARK, both of Gore; 14, grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Opal FREE; his parents; four brothers; and four sisters. Pallbearers were Chris Putnam, Keith Putnam, Caleb Daniel, Colton Daniel, Joe Pena and Billie Clark.

Robert Stephen GILLHAM of Sallisaw, (formery of Durant) was born on April 24, 1945, in Tulsa to L.D. and Una Mae (JONES) GILLHAM and passed away on Monday, April 30, 2012, in Fort Smith, Ark., at the age of 67. He is survived by one daughter, Stephanie SPENCER and her husband, Robert of Sallisaw; one son, Chad GILLHAM and wife, Lindsay of Littleton, Colo.; two sisters, Elwanda BROWN and husband, Clyde of Durant and Kay CARTER of Calera; one brother, Gerald GILLHAM and wife Carolyn of Winder, Ga.; and four grandchildren, Colton SPENCER, Madylin SPENCER, Livie GILLHAM and Issac GILLHAM. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Doyle GILLHAM; and one grandson, Colin GILLHAM. He was a member of the Baptist Faith. He loved horses, especially cutting horses, outdoors and spending time with his grandkids. He was a longtime resident and realtor in Durant. He retired from Texas Feed Fat as a lab technician. Funeral services for Lois RUSSELL, 92, are being held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lee’s Chapel with Bro. Eddie Blankenship officiating. Burial is at Cottonwood Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro. Mrs. RUSSELL was born on Feb. 2, 1920, in Muldrow to Marion Owens and Maud (ROGERS) OWENS. She died on Monday, April 30, 2012, in Spiro. She was a teacher. Survivors include one daughter, Arletta Kay GIST and husband, Stearl of Spiro; one sister, Velma LEACH of Holtville, Calif.; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Coy RUSSELL; two sisters, Agnes MORTON and Beulah WATTS; and four brothers, Frank OWENS, Herbert OWENS, Willard OWENS and Dale OWENS.

Ricky Lee RUTHERFORD, 57, of Roland passed from this life on Monday, April 30, 2012, in Roland. Rick was born on Sept. 21, 1954, in Ada to Jimmy and Nancy RUTHERFORD.  Rick married Zenda SPEIR on March 15, 1975, and after a short time moved to Roland where they have lived for some 37 years. They have one child, Casie Jo and two grandchildren, twins Camryn and Cambrey Jo. Rick was employed by FedEx Freight Company for 20 year and was an active member of the Bod.TV Church in Roland. He was involved in several mission ministries including the Back Pack Program and whatever Mission his grandson Camryn’s heart lead them into. He was also an expert story teller that would keep our family entertained with witty one liners full of wisdom laced with humor from the lives of men he had admired and respected throughout his life. Many of them were friends from his team roping days where he was a great friend, teacher and mentor to so many men and boys. Loved ones who left this life before him were his father, Jimmy RUTHERFORD; and sister, Twyla RUTHERFORD. Those he left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Zenda RUTHERFORD of the home; his mother, Nancy RUTHERFORD of Noble; daughter, Casie Jo HULL; grandson, Camryn Lee HULL; and granddaughter, Cambrey Jo HULL, all of Roland. The service to celebrate Rick’s life will be held at the The BodTV in Roland on Friday, May 4, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Johnny Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Roland Cemetery. Mrs. SALLINGS was born on Sept. 8, 1920, in London, Ark., to Luther and Nettie (NORDIN) SIMMONS. She died on Monday, April 30, 2012, in McAlester. Survivors include one daughter, JoAnn MARTIN of Warner; one son, Rick CUDE and wife, Connie of Perry; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth SIMMONS of Webbers Falls; and one brother, James E. SIMMONS of Lumberton, Texas. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Rural CUDE and Wesley SALLINGS; a sister, Lois PULLEN; and two brothers, Glen SIMMONS and Paul SIMMONS.

Memorial services for David Eugene TAYLOR, of Spiro, were held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Mallory-Martin Chapel in Spiro under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro. Mr. TAYLOR was born on Oct. 15, 1943, in Bell, Calif., to Charlie TAYLOR and Letha Mae (MYERS) TAYLOR. He died on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, in Spiro. He was a crane operator, a Navy veteran and member of NRA. Survivors include one son, Tomm TAYLOR and wife, Sabrina of Spiro; three sisters, Ethel Imogene FRITZ of Kernville, Calif., Nancy Cleo DUNN of Arkoma and Shirley Kay COMBS of Selma, Calif.; two brothers, Cloyd Harlow TAYLOR of Paulden, Ariz., and Roger Britton TAYLOR of Anaheim, Calif.; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Lola Charlene DOWNS.

Memorial services for Michael WEATHERTON, 63, of Sallisaw are being held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Mallory-Martin Chapel in Sallisaw with the Rev. Vernon Stone officiating. Cremation is under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. WEATHERTON was born on Aug. 16, 1948, in Russellville, Ark., to Haskell and Naomi (RAGSDALE) WEATHERTON. He died on Saturday, April 28, 2012, in Sallisaw. He was a member of the Arkansas National Guard. Survivors include one daughter, Ashley KOPISCHKE of Sallisaw; two sons, Aaron WEATHERTON and Brandon FRITTS and wife, Charitie, all of Sallisaw; and two sisters, Cindy POTTS and husband, John and Cherrie WEATHERTON, all of Sallisaw. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and an uncle.

Funeral services for Bonnie Marie MERRILL FOUT, 82, of Sallisaw are being held at 2 p.m. at the Mallory-Martin Chapel in Sallisaw. Burial is at Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. FOUT was born on May 10, 1929, in Gans to Alvie Harrison MERRILL and Alta Carrie (HOUSE) MERRILL. She died on Thursday, May 3, 2012, in Fort Smith, Ark. She was a retired accountant. She married Doil Dean “Nub” FOUT on July 8, 1946, in Fort Smith. He preceded her in death on Feb. 28, 2004. Survivors include one daughter, Carol WYRICK of Sallisaw; one son, David FOUT of Sallisaw; four grandsons; three sisters, Edith PETERSON of Muldrow and Bernice FOX and Imogene MOODY, both of Sallisaw; and four great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Ruby MERRILL GUNTER; and three brothers, Acher “A.H. Jr.” , D.B. and Leon MERRILL. Pallbearers are her grandsons, Ryan Wyrick, Rod Wyrick, Drew Fout and Chris Fout.

Funeral service for Honey Lacole FRAZIER, 30, of Sallisaw were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Whitesboro Baptist Church with Chaplain John Fimple officiating. Burial was at Whitesboro Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. She was born on July 5, 1981, in Talihina to Terry James FRAZIER and Twala (MEDDERS) FRAZIER. She died on Friday, April 27, 2012, in Sallisaw. She was a member of the Arkansas National Guard Unit 937th Forward Support Company out of Fort Chaffee. Survivors include her mother, of Ruidoso, N.M.; her father, of Whitesboro; one sister, Jade FRAZIER of Ruidoso; and several other family members and friends. Pallbearers were members of Arkansas National Guard. A memorial service will also be held at 4 p.m. Friday, May 4 at Camp Joseph T. Robinson in North Little Rock, Ark.

Graveside services for Minnie Ruth NOISEY, 67, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Warseat Cemetery in Gum Springs with Pastor Bill Holcomb officiating under the direction of Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Tahlequah. Mrs. NOISEY was born on May 6, 1944, in Gum Springs to Scott STEVENSON and Nannie NOISEY. She died on Friday, April 27, 2012. She lived her entire life around Gum Springs and the Vian area. She enjoyed sewing, Gospel music and singing. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Survivors include her sister, Jeannie STEVENSON of Gore; and several other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Andy NOISEY.

Elizabeth KORBY “Bette” PETERSON, 62, died on Tuesday, May 1, 2012, in Spiro. She was born on April 10, 1950, in Cloquet, Minn., to John KORBY and Violet KORBY. Formal services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Spiro. She was a member of the Lutheran Church and the Journeymen Carpenter Club. She enjoyed looking for arrowheads, remodeling homes, drawing, painting and dancing. Survivors include one daughter, Raina MOORE and husband, Clint of Spiro; one son, Travis PETERSON and wife, Barbara of Big Spring, Texas; five sisters, Joan KORPI of Egan, Minn., May CLARK of Grants Pass, Ore., Sandy WHITE of Braham, Minn., Nancy BRADY of Cloquet and Karen HEIMBACH of Salem, Ore.; three brothers, John KORBY and Mike KORBY, both of Cloquet and Jim KORBY of Spiro; and several other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Gladys KMETZ.

Funeral services for Carroll ALLEN, 70, of Sallisaw were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Mallory-Martin Chapel in Sallisaw with the Rev. Monroe Lowrimore officiating. Burial was at Akins Cemetery in Sallisaw under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. ALLEN was born on June 23, 1941, in Oklahoma to Thomas Jackson ALLEN and Hazel (REED) ALLEN. He died on Thursday, May 3, 2012, in Sallisaw. He was a truck driver. He married Patsy Sue BARBEE on Feb. 23, 1960, in Stilwell. Survivors include his wife, Pat ALLEN of the home; one son, Mike ALLEN of Sallisaw; one sister Wilberta Arlene JENKINS; one brother, Thomas Watie ALLEN of Sallisaw; and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers were Larry Thomas, Danny Thomas, Steve Carter, Rodney Poindexter, Kenny Richardson and Aaron Dodson.

Graveside services for Billy C. BENGE, 81, of Tulsa were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sallisaw City Cemetery with the Revs. Ernie Martin and Jack Martin officiating under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. BENGE was born on Oct. 6, 1930, in Sallisaw to Hooley BENGE and Katie (STEVENS) BENGE. He died on Friday, May 4, 2012, in Talihina. He was a private investigator and painter. He married Wanda Gaye WALKER on April 16, 1995, in Eureka Springs, Ark. Survivors include his wife, Wanda BENGE of the home; one daughter, Traci PATTERSON of Bristow; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Carlos BENGE.

Funeral services for Robert “Bob” COOPER Jr., 46, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Mallory-Martin Chapel in Spiro with the Rev. Howard Jeffery officiating. Burial will be at Forest Park Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro. Mr. COOPER was a laborer. Survivors include his wife, Cathy COOPER of the home; two daughters, Savanna JONES and husband, Rueben of Texarkana, Ark, and Treasure COOPER of Spiro; three sisters, Tammy and husband, Henry, Alfie COOPER and Alice HARRISON, all of Spiro; one brother, Barney COOPER of Spiro; and several other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

Funeral services for LaJuana DRAKE, 75, of Sallisaw will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Mallory-Martin Chapel in Sallisaw with the Rev. Monroe Lowrimore officiating. Burial will be at Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. DRAKE was born on Jan. 1, 1937, in Hanson to Authur Edgar DAVIS and Maude Ella (BRODERICK) DAVIS. She died on Friday, May 4, 2012, in Fort Smith, Ark. She was an assistant manager at Braums in Edmond and was part of Drake Racing Stables in Sallisaw. She married Don Earl DRAKE on July 25, 1955, in Stilwell. Survivors include her husband, Don of the home; two daughters, Donna ARMSTRONG of Arcadia and Susie TAYLOR of Sallisaw; one son, C. David DRAKE of Sallisaw; two sisters, Emagene SALYERS-CARRINGTON of Tulsa and Fern KINSEY of Sallisaw; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Reba WALKER, Mildred BURRIS and Mary Helen DAVIS; and one brother, Willie DAVIS. Pallbearers will be Bobby Jack Merrill, Terry Richard, Keith Skelton, Drew Drake, Jacob Armstrong, Jordan Armstrong and Gary White.

Barbara REEDER LINDUFF, 75, of Muskogee died on Sunday, May 6, 2012, in Tulsa. She was born on Oct. 31, 1936, in Gore to Virgil Homer REEDER and Thelma Louise (WATSON) REEDER. No formal service if planned at this time. Cremation is under the direction of Agent Funeral of Sallisaw. She was a registered nurse. Survivors include two son, James Virgil LINDUFF of Gore and John Carl LINDUFF of Tahlequah; one daughter, Beverly Jean HUBBARD of Broken Arrow; one sister, LuAnn COACHMAN of Muskogee; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Billy Neal LINDUFF.

She died on Sunday, May 6, 2012, in Sallisaw. Survivors include on son, Patrick QUALLS of Tahlequah; one sister, Mary Beth SMITH of Vian; one brother, Walter QUALLS of Sallisaw; and several other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Alice FISHER.

Burial is at Gans Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. RHOADS was born on Nov. 12, 1946, in Gans to Lee RHOADS and Erdie (HENRY) RHOADS. He died on Sunday, May 6, 2012, in Little Rock, Ark. He was an entrepreneur and cattle rancher. Survivors include seven children, Jody L RHOADS and Wesley B. RHOADS, both of Alma, Ark., Farah STOUT of Midwest City, Lea COX and Jerry HARL, both of Sallisaw, and Jana MORRIS and Grant C. RHOADS, both of Gans; two sisters, Lela BARNES of Gans and Patty SUDMEYER of Hot Springs, Ark.; three brothers, David RHOADS of Alma, Mike RHOADS of Gans and Steve RHOADS of Broken Arrow; and 14 grandchildren. Pallbearers are Mike Rhoads, David Rhoads, Steve Rhoads, Edward Barnes, Reese Pilkington, Dustin Baker, Weston Rhoads and Euless Wing.

Graveside services for Judy “Nanny” UMBAUGH, 82, of Muldrow are being held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Cottonwood Cemetery in Muldrow with the Rev. Kenton Rowe officiating under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow. Mrs. UMBAUGH was born on June 1, 1929, in Adair to Joe WOODS and Adelia (LINKS) WOODS. She died on Monday, May 7, 2012, in Fort Smith, Ark. She was a housekeeper at Sparks Regional Medical Center for 19 years. Survivors include two sons, Wayne MASSENGALE of Roland and Richard MASSENGALE of Muldrow; two daughters, Juanita LEE of Warner and Valerie GIPSON of Fort Smith; three sisters, Jorene AHABERRY of Arkoma, Daisy FLURRY of Roland and Wilma WOODS of Greeenwood, Ark.; one brother, Franklin WOODS of Arkoma; 14 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter; her parents; one sister, Jackie HARROD; and one brother, Johnny Lee WOODS. Pallbearers are Rodney Reeves, Robert Reeves, Mason Reeves, John Mummert, James Bell and George Taylor.

Mr. CARTWRIGHT was born on Sept. 23, 1958, in Sallisaw to Claudie Gwin CARTWRIGHT and Edna Elizabeth (BALLARD) CARTWRIGHT. He died on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, in Sallisaw. He was a personal care trainer at People Inc. John R. HEFTON Sr., 86, of Stephenville, Texas, a retired teacher, died on Sunday, May 13, 2012, at a Texas hospital. John was born on June 11, 1925, to the late William and Myrtle (RIDDLE) HEFTON in Vian. He married Dorothy Ann HUNT on Dec. 21, 1947, in Houston, Texas. John was a World War 11 Navy veteran. He served as a deacon of the First Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school class for many years. He was also a past member of the Kiwanis Club, Lions Club, Retired Teachers Association, VFW and American Legion. John was also a member of the Stephenville Masonic Lodge 267. Cassie Mae McKEE was born on June 25, 1915, in Gerad, Texas, the daughter of John Harley STONEMAN and Betty Tiny ROLLINS STONEMAN. She married William W. “Bill” McKEE in 1980, in Sallisaw. He preceded her in death in 1997. Mrs. McKEE was a factory worker, homemaker and a Baptist. She passed this life on Sunday, May 13, 2012, in Fort Smith, Ark. Survivors are four grandchildren, Sharon Kay UNDERWOOD of Fort Worth, Texas, Diane SILUENTIS and Troy HARRY Jr., both of Rogers, Ark., and Stefaine DAVIS of Sallisaw; 12 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. HOUSE and Lois FARRIS, all of Sallisaw; three sons and daughters-in-law, J.R. and Phyllis HORN of Manvel, Texas, Jackie and Cindy HORN , of Tulsa and Hubert and Janet HORN, of Sallisaw; 23 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 34 great-great-grandchildren and two on the way. Cecil Max STIFLE was born on Sept. 12, 1922, in Robinson, Ill., the son of Elmer STIFLE and Daisy Rae (ROWE) STIFLE. He married Carolene WILSON STIFLE on June 28, 1957, in Robinson. Mr. STIFLE was a member of Gans Bible Church, the American Legion and a Coast Guard veteran of World War II. He loved to garden, collect knives, guns and walking. He made walking sticks, was a body and fender repairman and loved hard work. He passed this life on Monday, May 14, 2012, in Fort Smith, Ark. Eudola TYLER was born on Oct. 20, 1926, in Sallisaw, the daughter of Sam BRANNAM and Clara (ESKEW) BRANNAM. She married E.T. TYLER on Nov. 20, 1947, in Sallisaw. He preceded her in death on March 9, 1991, in Sallisaw. Mrs. TYLER was a homemaker and a member of Watts Holiness Church. She was active in Farm Bureau Women and the Election Board. She was Delilah Chapter Grand Matron and a member Central Piedmont Community College Choir and Veterans of Foreign Wars War Society, MMCA Women’s Society. she was a member of the House of Praise of Church in Marble City and worked with the Marble City Food Pantry. Survivors include her companion, Golden EAGLE; her children, Sabrina D. JAMISON and Michael E. PARKER and Cecelia COLLINS; three grandchildren; and several other family members and friends.

Mildred Francis NEER was born on March 1, 1921, in Stroud, the daughter of Oba Aza EARP and Gladys (BURTON) EARP. She grew up in the Midlothian area and graduated from Chandler High School. She married Louis Ned NEER on Dec. 24, 1939. She moved to Sallisaw in 2001 to be near her children. Mildred and Ned were the owners of Neer’s General Store for 15 years, a resident of Sparks for 50 years and a member of Sparks Baptist Church. She loved to be with her family. Mrs. NEER passed this life on Monday, May 21, 2012, in Sallisaw. Burial is at Roland Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith, Mr. PATTERSON was born on April 26, 1926, in Moffett. He died on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, in Tulsa. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He owned and operated Patterson’s Grocery in Muldrow for over 50 years. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed cheering on the Razorbacks. Survivors include his wife, Sybil PATTERSON; daughter, Debbie SOUTHERLAND; son-in-law, George SOUTHERLAND; son, Dennis PATTERSON; daughter, Leah KEELE and son-in-law, Garry KEELE; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Richard Dwayne SPARKS, 41, of Gore will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Price Cemetery under the direction of The Cremation Society of Tulsa. Mr. SPARKS was born on Sept. 22, 1970, in Wagoner. He died on Friday, May 18, 2012, in Gore. He was a roofer.

Emma Kate STREBECK SPEARS, 77, of Jefferson City, Mo., formerly of Sallisaw died on Friday, May 11, 2012, in Jefferson City. She was born on April 30, 1935, in Sallisaw to John R. and Ella Florene (McEVER) STREBECK. She grew up in Sallisaw and graduated from Sallisaw High School in 1954. She is survived by her five children, Raymond Franklin, Eva Kay, Mark Allen, Brian Keith and Tina Marie; two brothers, Virgil Homer and Earl Edward STREBECK. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis SPEARS. A celebration of her life was held on May 17 at Calvary Baptist Church in Jefferson City with the Rev. Kevin Kohler officiating. Cremation was under the direction of Freeman Funeral Home of Jefferson City. Burial will be in the Sallisaw Duncan Cemetery at a later date.

Graveside services for Robert Wayne TRYON, 67, of Spiro will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Hope Cemetery with the Rev. Eddie Blankenship officiating under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro. Mr. TRYON was born on Aug. 7, 1944, in Booneville, Mo., to William TRYON and Belle (HAYES) TRYON. He died on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, in Oolagah. He was a laborer, and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Survivors include his wife, Anna (IVY) TRYON of the home; son, Jeff TRYON and wife, Melissa of Oolagah; sister, Loretta SZOBODI and husband, Don of Warsaw, Mo.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Terry TRYON; and one brother, Doc TRYON.

Funeral services for Susan Quay BAIN, 47, of Broken Arrow were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Mallory-Martin Chapel in Sallisaw with the Rev. Monroe Lowrimore officiating. Burial was at Drake Stand Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. BAIN was born on Dec. 10, 1964, in Sallisaw to Howard W. MATSLER and Brenda QUAY (BYERS) MATSLER. She died on Thursday, May 24, 2012, in Broken Arrow. She was a medical assistant. Survivors include two sons, Jay and Zachary BAIN, both of the home; four sisters, Kathy CHAVEZ of Sallisaw, Sherri POLITOWICZ, Mary BRUCIA and Sandra SIERRA all of Monroe, N.C.; two brothers, Jay MATSLER of Broken Arrow and Wesley MATSLER of Conway, Ark.; her fathers, Howard MATSLER and Norman GREEN; and several other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother. Pallbearers were Julian Matsler, Dennis Matsler, Skyler Matsler, Juan Chavez, Kyle Smith and Bradley Green.

Maye BRUNK was born on Feb. 16, 1924, in Baldridge community, the daughter of Jim WILSON and Effie Belle (WILLIAMS) WILSON. She was married to Bethel Edgar BRUNK. He preceded her in death on Sept. 9, 1966, in Kansas City, Mo. Mrs. BRUNK was an assembly line worker at American Standard (Trane) and a member of Eastside Freewill Baptist Church. She passed this life on Saturday, May 26, 2012, in Roland. Survivors include one sister, Audrey MOORE of Kansas City; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four sisters, her twin sister, Faye CANNON, Betty JONES, Annie DYER and Margaret COOPER; and two brothers, James and Jack WILSON. Services are being held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Eastside Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Anthony Williams officiating. Burial is at Muldrow Memory Gardens under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow. Viewing is from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Agent Chapel in Muldrow. The family will visit friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Active pallbearers are Jerry Jordan, Brand Followell, Rick Pendergrass, Star Real and Neal Vorsas.

Funeral services for Beverly Ann KING, 79, of Fort Smith, Ark. were held at 1 p.m. Friday at Sunnylane Cemetery in Del City with burial at Sunnylane Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren, Ark. Mrs. KING was born on Feb. 24, 1933, in Muskogee to Archie and Grace (SHORT) MARTIN. She died on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, in Fort Smith. She was a retired schoolteacher, having served as a first grade teacher for 28 years. She also received an administrative degree and later served as a principal at Gum Springs Elementary School. Survivors include three sons, Robert KING of Vian, Chuck KING of Fort Smith and Kelly KING of Sallisaw; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Graveside services for Kimberly Kay MEADOWS, 53, of Sallisaw will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. She was born on Feb. 21, 1959, in Sallisaw to Arvil Ray “Mick” MEADOWS and Judy Katherine (BARRETT) CARLTON. She died on Monday, May 28, 2012, in Sallisaw. She was a homemaker. Survivors include two daughters, Tabitha Jolynn KIRK of Fort Smith, Ark., and Kimberly Jo WANN of Muldrow; one sister, Arvilla Rae Jean BOOTH of Tulsa; two brothers, Ricky MEADOWS and Michael MEADOWS, both of Tulsa; her parents; and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her stepmother, Wanda MEADOWS.

Burial was at Akins Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. OWENS born on Aug. 19, 1974, in Fort Smith, Ark., to Billy Wayne TAYLOR and Donna Jean REEP. She died on Thursday, May 24, 2012, in Gans. She was a rehab specialist at Roland Family Counseling. Survivors include her husband, Mark of the home; two daughters, Kendra ROWE of Muldrow and Kara ROWE of Sallisaw; two stepdaughters, Lindsey OWENS of Fort Smith and Sierra OWENS of Vian; one stepson, Jessey OWENS of Sallisaw; her mother, of Gans; her father, of Tulsa; one sister, Melissa MILLS of Gans; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers were Roger Coatney, Bill Horton, Craig Edgmond, Charles Coatney, Jessey Owens and Josh Smith.

Graveside services for LaDonna Fay RIDENOUR, 62, of Sallisaw were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Seabolt Cemetery, northeast of Sallisaw, with the Rev. Vernon Stone officiating under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. RIDENOUR was born on May 8, 1950, in Sallisaw to Benny BILYEU and Maggie Fay (RIGGS) BILYEU. She died on Thursday, May 24, 2012, in Enid. She was a homemaker. Survivors include three daughters, Danette PETERS of Amber, Melisa RIGDON of Hennessey and Kathryn STOUT of Keota; two sons, James RIDENOUR of Muskogee and Bennie RIDENOUR of Hennessey; her father, of Sallisaw; one sister, Delores CHEATER of Sallisaw; two brothers, John BILYEU and Dale BILYEU, both of Sallisaw; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. RIDENOUR; her mother; one sister, Dorothy NGUYEN; two brothers, Bobby and Benny BILYEU; and one grandson. Pallbearers were family members.

Funeral services for Walter Ray SHAMBLIN, 70, of Muldrow were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Agent Chapel in Muldrow with the Rev. Al Ruckman officiating. Burial was at Long Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. SHAMBLIN was born on Aug. 1, 1941, in Muldrow to Vernie SHAMBLIN and Bonnie (GRIFFIN) SHAMBLIN. He died on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, in Fort Smith, Ark. He was a retired janitorial supervisor from Central Schools. He married Barbara Gean REED on Feb. 18, 1967, in Wagoner. She preceded him in death on July 20, 2011. Survivors include three sons, Steven SHAMBLIN of Sallisaw, Jackie SHAMBLIN of Augusta, Ga., and Jeffery SHAMBLIN of New Hope; two sisters, Sharon MYERS of Nashville, Tenn., and Sue FAIR of Panama; one brother, Jack SHAMBLIN of Sallisaw; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Phyllis SHAMBLIN; and one brother, Bob SHAMBLIN. Pallbearers were Mikel Smith, Tyler Shamblin, Talon Shamblin, Tony Shamblin, Richard Hobbs and Steve Stanart.

Earl Clead STEWART, also known as “E.C.” and “Squanie” passed away on Monday, May 28, 2012, in Sallisaw at the age of 94 years, 11 months and 16 days. E.C. was born on June 12, 1917, on the family farm at Akins, the son of David Clead and Allie Belle (EZELL) STEWART, commonly known in the community as “Clead” and “Allie”. Both were born in Indian Territory before Oklahoma Statehood. His father raised cattle, operated a small country store and was the community Postmaster for a short period of time. His mother, a homemaker, had over 75 handmade quilts at the time of her passing. At her passing each of her grandchildren were give 10 quilts. E.C., with his two younger brothers, Shawnee and Bill, were reared on the family farm at Akins. He told stories about growing up in the Akins community with people having nicknames such as Hack, Tug, Cotton, Poke, Heavy, Blue Eyes, Toots, Josh, Wash, Snooky, Slim, Soap and Boots, to name a few. He attended Akins Public School through the eighth grade, and graduated from Sallisaw High School in 1936. In 1938, E.C. and his uncle Winsor Stewart moved to California to get rich. After about three months, he returned to Akins because he was about to starve. In 1939, he enrolled in Connors State College at Warner. He attended Connors for one year before enrolling in Northeastern State University in Tahlequah. He attended Northeastern for one semester before enlisting in the U.S. Army Air Corps in January 1941. He had basic training at Randolph Air Field in San Antonio, Texas, before going to gunnery school in Kingman, Ariz. He was transferred to Mathis Field in California before going overseas. He was stationed in Italy with the 15th Air Force. During World War II, he flew 52 missions as a nose gunner in a B24 bomber over Germany, surviving two crashes, one at sea and one on the runway in Italy. The B24 was commonly referred to as a “Flying Coffin.” He was awarded the Air Medal with two Bronze Oak Leaf clusters and the American Campaign medal with two Bronze Stars. After discharge from the Army Air Corps in 1945, he returned to his home in Sallisaw. He later survived a crash in a single engine aircraft. He was a certified pilot of single engine aircraft. He worked for a short period of time as a caseworker with the Sequoyah County Welfare office in Sallisaw, where he met his future wife, Norma Ruth WOOD. He entered Sequoyah County politics in 1946, and was elected sheriff of Sequoyah County in November of 1946. E.C. and Norma Ruth WOOD were married on Dec. 12, 1946, in Sallisaw. After serving as sheriff the joined the Oklahoma Highway Patrol as a State Trooper, wearing OHP Badge number 174. He served as a State Trooper for three years patrolling state highways in Oklahoma, Murray and Creek Counties of Oklahoma. In 1951, he and Norma Ruth entered Northeastern State University in Tahlequah. Both graduating with a master’s degree in education. After teaching at Roland High School for a period of time, he resigned as school principal and joined the U.S. Postal Service in Sallisaw, as a rural mail carrier. Norma Ruth continued teaching at Roland until her retirement. E.C. served a Sallisaw mayor from March 1955 to April 1959. After 22 years with the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1984, he and his father raised cattle on the family farm at Akins. After his father’s passing in 1987, he continued to operate the cattle farm. He retired from the cattle business in 2008. E.C. was a true public servant. Served overseas during World War II, Welfare caseworker, Sheriff, State Trooper, educator, Mayor and rural mail carrier. E.C. is survived by his wife, Norma Ruth WOOD STEWART of Sallisaw; two younger brothers, M. Shawnee STEWART and Bill L. STEWART, both of Tulsa; two nephews, David STEWART and his wife, Kim and Martin STEWART, all of Tulsa; three nieces, Linda STEWART FLORES and husband, Gilbert of San Antonio, Texas, Gail STEWART TAYLOR and husband, Glen of Tulsa and April STEWART HIGHLAND and husband, David of Phoenix, Ariz.; and very dear friend, Freda LATTIMORE of Sallisaw. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at First Christian Church in Sallisaw with Dr. Lee Woodard officiating. Burial will follow at Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Viewing will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.
