Funeral services are being held at 10 a.m. Saturday for Melvin DUTY, 90, of Sallisaw at Agent Chapel in Sallisaw. The Rev. Monroe Lowrimore is officiating. Burial is in Maple Cemetery, northeast of Sallisaw under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mr. DUTY was born April 12, 1908, in the Brent community, to James Delmar DUTY and Bennettie (TOUNZEN) DUTY. He died Wednesday, July 29, 1998, in Sallisaw. Survivors are one son, James; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Amburs, Louie and Edmond.
Mr. DUTY was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Deborah COKER.

Funeral services for Dorman JEREMIAH, 52, of Roland were held at 2 p.m. Friday at Victory Temple Pentecostal Church in Muldrow. The Rev. Andy O'Neal officiated. Burial was in Liberty Cemetery, north of Roland under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Muldrow. Mr. JEREMIAH was born July 30, 1945, in Liberty, to Claude JEREMIAH and Margaret "Jim" (ROGERS) JEREMIAH. He died Tuesday, July 28, 1998, in Fort Smith, Ark. Mr. JEREMIAH Bobbie Jo (RIDDLE) JEREMIAH Jan. 15, 1986, in Van Buren, Ark. Survivors include his wife Bobbie of the home; one son, Greg; three stepsons, Daniel Earl, Brian Christopher, and Keith Allen; one step-granddaughter Alyssa; two sisters, Novella and Gloria Sue; five brothers, Clayton, Lynn, Eugene, Nelson, and Larry; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Arthur Morrow MATTHEWS, 68, of Gore are being held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Gore. The Rev. Bill Butram is officiating. Burial is in Gore City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mr. MATTHEWS was born Jan. 15, 1930, in Gore, to Paul Jones MATTHEWS and Jessie Ila (MORROW) MATTHEWS. He died Thursday, July 30, 1998, at his home in Gore. Mr. MATTHEWS married Mardena Ann (MOSS) MATTHEWS Nov. 24, 1956, in Menheim, Germany. Survivors include his wife, Mardena of the home; two daughters, Karen and Theresa; one sister, Edna Earle; and three brothers, Paul Jr., H. J., and Lawrence. Mr. MATTHEWS was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Sharlie MATTHEWS and Mary Ellen KORNBLEE, and one brother, Jamie MATTHEWS.

Funeral services for Reba Faye WALKER, 76, of Tahlequah will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Hart Funeral Home in Tahlequah. The Rev. Bill Kinsey will officiate. Burial will be in Sallisaw City Cemetery, under the direction of Hart Funeral Home. Mrs. WALKER was born Aug. 4, 1921, in Danville, Ark., to Arthur Edgar and Maude Ella (BROADRICK) DAVIS. She died Wednesday, July 29, 1998, in Tulsa. Mrs. WALKER married Dr. Russell L. WALKER June 6, 1942, in Sallisaw. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Avo; two grandsons, Allan and wife Bonnie, Everett and wife, Jennifer; four sisters, Mildred, Imogene, Nelda Fern, Lajuana; one sister-in-law, Doris; four great-grandchildren, Earl, Daniel, Brian and Kaylie; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Floyd BENGE, 75, of Liberty were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Agent Chapel in Muldrow, with the Revs. Wayne Efurd and Steve Rutherford officiating. Burial was in Liberty Cemetery, north of Roland, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home. Mr. BENGE was born May 13, 1923, in Akins, to James Martin BENGE and Iva (FOSTER) BENGE. He died Monday, Aug. 3, 1998, in Fort Smith, Ark. He married Jean BROWN April 19, 1950, in Van Buren, Ark. Survivors include his wife, Jean of the home; two daughters, Sherrye and Julie; one son, Floyd; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty and Maxine; and five brothers, Paul, Donald, Leo, Bill and Glen.

Funeral services for Michael Ray EDWARDS, 48, of Van Buren, Ark., are being held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren. Burial is in Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren, under the direction Ocker Funeral Home. Mr. EDWARDS died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998, in Sturgis, S. D. Survivors include one daughter, Miranda Sue; his parents, N. D. and Anna Mae EDWARDS; paternal grandmother, Sue EDWARDS; and one sister Carol Ann.

Funeral services for Mary Ogle GRITTS, 75, of Tahlequah were held Friday at the Swimmer Baptist Church near Lost City. The Rev. Charlie Carey officiated. Burial was in Swimmer Cemetery, under the direction of Green Country Funeral Home in Tahlequah. Mrs. GRITTS was born Oct. 30, 1922, in Cherokee County. She died Tuesday, July 28, 1998, at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa. She married Levi GRITTS Sr. Survivors include her husband, Levi of the home; four daughters and one son-in-law, Sandra and Larry, Cynthia, Karen and Luann. Mrs. GRITTS was preceded in death by her mother, Mina HAWKINS GRITTS, one sister Ann OGLE, and one grandson, Justin.

Graveside services for John Wesley HAGGARD, 24, of Cameron were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mitchell Cemetery, east of Sallisaw, with the Rev. Ronnie Forsythe officiating. Mr. HAGGARD was born July 6, 1974, in Batesville, Ark., to B. E. HAGGARD and Billie Deanne (MCCULLUM) HAGGARD. He died Friday, July 31, 1998, near Muldrow. Survivors include his wife, Angel CHAPMAN ; one daughter, Amber Nicole; his parents; three sisters, Christine Diana, Laura Amanda and Theresa Joanna; his maternal grandmother Minnie ; his paternal grandparents, Earl and Fern.

Graveside services for Sallie Katherine HARTLEY, 90, of Sallisaw were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Maple Cemetery, northeast of Sallisaw, with the Rev. Paul Powers officiating. Mrs. HARTLEY was born Sept. 24, 1907, in the Maple community, Sequoyah District, Oklahoma, Indian Territory, to George Washington BALDRIDGE and Nannie (MILLER) BALDRIDGE. She died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998, in Vian. She married Karl Cason HARTLEY May 17, 1930, in Carthage, Mo. Survivors include her husband, Karl C. HARTLEY of the home; one daughter, Karla Karleen; one son, Rodger; three grandchildren; one sister, Sadie V.; and several nieces and nephews.  Arrangements were under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw.

Memorial services for Lela Lou McCREARY, 52, of Vian were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sallisaw, with the Rev. Jeff Polasek officiating. Private interment is at U. S. National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mrs. McCREARY was born June 14, 1946, in Stillwater, to Col. George L. GEER Jr. and Donna (WARE) GEER. She died Saturday, Aug. 1, 1998, at her home in the East Lake Hills community, northeast of Vian. She married Kenneth L. MCCREARY Sr. Sept. 14, 1979, in Tulsa. Survivors include her husband, Ken L. McCREARY Sr. of the home; one daughter, Donna M.; two grandsons; one step-son, Ken L. ; one step-grandson; one step-daughter, Dawn; her mother, Donna; one sister, Rita; one brother, Lance ; three nieces, two nephews; and her mother-in-law, Mildred.

Funeral services for Virginia Dale MAYO "Gen" WILLIAMS, 94, former Sallisaw resident will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the First Presbyterian Church, Sallisaw. With the Rev. Judy Liljestrand officiating. Mrs. WILLIAMS died Monday, Aug. 3, 1998, in an Oklahoma City hospital. Burial will be in Sallisaw City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. WILLIAMS was born July 6, 1904, in Sallisaw, Sequoyah District, Indian Territory, to W. D. and Jessie Virginia WHEELER MAYO. She married Lewis O. WILLIAMS Oct. 31, 1927, in Sallisaw. He preceded her in death in 1971. Survivors include one son, Allen M.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert H.; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Ginger WOOLLEY of Tulsa in 1997; two sister, Baby Bess MAYO in 1906; and Mrs. Billie E. STOVALL in 1985; and three brothers, John Mooring MAYO in 1909, Dale Carnall MAYO in 1927, and Richard Wheeler MAYO in 1975.

Graveside services for Jimmy R. CORNELIUS, 84, of Coweta were held at 10 a.m., July 17 at Floral Haven Cemetery, with the Rev. Steven Lee of First Assembly of God in Coweta officiated. Mr. CORNELIUS was born May 8, 1914, in Sallisaw, to Wilburn and Melvina Tennessee (ELLIS) CORNELIUS. He died Wednesday, July 15, 1998, at his home. He married Naomi Vanita VICKERY Aug. 3, 1936. Survivors include his wife, Naomi CORNELIUS of the home; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Jimmy Ray Jr. and Doris, and Larry Gene and Gerry and Ronnie Jack; one daughter and son-in-law, Rosemary Eileen and Alan; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Lenora V. and Jean V.; two special nieces, Betty J. and Jean; and several other nieces, and nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. CORNELIUS was preceded in death by his father in 1961, his mother in 1963, one sister, Edna WOOD in 1973, and two brothers, George in 1990 and Virgil in 1991. Arrangements were under the direction of Wright Funeral Home in Coweta.

Funeral services for Carl Wear COTTON, 90, of Sallisaw are being held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Agent Chapel in Sallisaw, with Dr. Lee Woodard officiating. Burial is in Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mr. COTTON was born Feb. 11, 1908, in Adair Prairie, to George Washington COTTON and Sara Elizabeth (WEAR) COTTON. He died Thursday, Aug. 6, 1998, in Sallisaw. He married Lillian Mae HELTON on March 2, 1935, in Sallisaw. Survivors include his wife, Lillian of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Bill, and Ramona Sue and Dick; one granddaughter, Cheryl Ann; and two great-granddaughters.

Funeral services for Mattie Frank KNIGHTS, 64, of Mulberry, Ark., are being held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ocker Funeral Home Chapel in Alma, Ark. Burial is in Piney Cemetery, near Mulberry, under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Alma. Mrs. KNIGHTS died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 1998, at her home. Survivors include her husband, Frank of the home; four sons, Terry , Steve, Ronnie and Gary; three sisters, Thelma Ruth, Ola Mae and Josie Carolyn; two brothers, A. J.. and Jim; seven grandchildren

Funeral services for Darrell Lee McLEMORE Sr., 59, of Roland were held at 11 a.m. Friday at Fentress Mortuary Chapel in Fort Smith, Ark. Burial was in New Home Cemetery in Spiro, under the direction of Fentress Mortuary. Mr. McLEMORE died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 1998, in Fort Smith. Survivors include five daughters, Rhonda Ann, Anna D., Kimberly Kay, Barbara Gail, and Sherry L.; three sons, Darrell Lee, Danny Shawn, and John; 10 sisters, Norma, Opal, Naomi, Emma, Dortha, Wanda, Margaret, Frances, Glenda, Wanda and Carolyn; 26 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services for Clyde Perry POINDEXTER, 80, of Shattuck, formerly of Sallisaw, were held at 2 p.m. July 29 at Mallory-Wheeler Chapel in Sallisaw. The Rev. Gary Riley officiated. Burial was in Akins Cemetery, under the direction of Mallory-Wheeler Funeral Home. Mr. POINDEXTER was born May 16, 1918, in Sallisaw, to William Mathice POINDEXTER and Lou (WEBSTER) POINDEXTER... He died Sunday, July 26, 1998, in a Shattuck hospital.
Survivors include four daughters, Rossie, Janice, Jewell and Norma; three sons, Clifford, Verlin and Wilburn; 23 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Levi.

Funeral services for Mark Wade ROLSTON, 34, of Warner were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the House of Prayer in Gore, with the Rev. Laymon Garrison officiating. Burial was in White Cemetery in Gore, under the direction of Millsap Funeral Service in Webbers Falls. Mr. ROLSTON was born Oct. 27, 1963, in Stilwell, to Dena Mayes and Wade STOVALL. He died Monday, Aug. 3, 1998, in Sallisaw. He married Shelley CLARK May 7, 1984, in Fort Smith, Ark. Survivors include his wife, Shelley ROLSTON; three children, Mark Shaun, Amber Sue Dawn, and Mark Wade Jr.; his mother and step-father , Dena and Edwin; step-mother, Winnie Lee; and three brothers, Jack, Roger, and Ronnie.

Graveside Funeral Services for Gerald Wayne TERRY, 71, of Bell Plains, Kansas., is scheduled August 11 at Lawrie Cemetery. The Rev. Sam Jerome of First Baptist Church of Mulhall will officiate. Services are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Guthrie. Gerald was born on March 14, 1927, in Guthrie to Earl and Jennie TERRY. He died Aug. 6, in Wichita, Kan. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, his wife, Susie, one daughter and one one great-grandchild. He is survived by one son, Gerald Lawrence; six daughters, Mary, Charlotte, Diana, Judy, Geri, and Sandy; one brother, Kenneth; one sister, Irene; 17 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mary Frances AMMONS, 79, of Heavener are being held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Heavener. Burial is in Memorial Park Cemetery in Heavener, under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home in Heavener. Mrs. AMMONS died Monday, Aug. 10, 1998, in a Fort Smith, Ark., hospital. She is survived by  two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and John, and Barbara and David; four grandchildren, Bridgette and her husband Jeff, David and his wife Brandi, Sara and Jerrod; and one great-grandson, Trey.

Mr. Archie Don FARMER, Sr. of Sallisaw died Aug. 6, 1998 in Fort Smith. Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 10, 1998, at the First Baptist Church in Sallisaw with Dr. Mike Taylor officiating. Burial was in the Sallisaw City Cemetery.  Mr. FARMER was born Oct. 1, 1929, in Sallisaw. He was the son of Fredrick Andrew and Lova LILLARD FARMER. He married Margaret Ann ARMSTRONG on Dec. 25, 1952, in Vian. Mr. FARMER is survived by his wife, Ann, of the home; two daughters, Lea Ann and Elaine; two sons, Don and Sinclair; seven grandchildren; one sister, Cleo WATTS, and several nieces, nephew, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Bess WILLIAMS IVEY, 97, of Sallisaw were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Agent Chapel in Sallisaw, with Dr. Lee Woodard officiating. Burial was in Sallisaw City Cemetery, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mrs. IVEY was born May 10, 1901, in Sturgis, S.D., to William Russell WILLIAMS and Hattie WILLIAMS. She died Friday, Aug. 7, 1998, in Sallisaw. She married Walter Lee "Skeet" IVEY Dec. 25, 1928, in Oklahoma City. He preceded her in death May 23, 1986. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Patsy Lee and Risk; one grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Risk II and Margaret; two great-granddaughters, Alexis and Terrell; one nephew, Dr. Donathan and his wife Betty;

Funeral services for America Lucinda WANN OWENS, 100, of Muldrow are being held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Cottonwood Freewill Baptist Church, southeast of Muldrow. The Revs. Jimmy Waldrop and Ricky Owens are officiating. Burial is in Cottonwood Cemetery, southeast of Muldrow, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Muldrow. Mrs. OWENS was born April 5, 1898, in Sharp County, Ark., to Henry A. WANN and Mattie Lucinda (KENNEY) WANN. She died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 1998, in Sallisaw. She married John B. OWENS Aug. 30, 1914, in Muldrow. He preceded her in death Dec. 20, 1990. Survivors include five daughters, Essie, Marie, Hazel, Lela and Ruth LaFern; one son, Edward; one adopted son Donald; 19 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 54 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild. Mrs. OWENS was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Juanita TABOR.

Funeral services for Billy Joe PLANK, 66, of Muldrow were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Agent Chapel in Muldrow, with the Rev. Randy Moore officiating. Burial was in Blackjack Cemetery, northwest of Muldrow, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mr. PLANK was born Dec. 26, 1931, in Muldrow, to Jess Whitten PLANK and Nancy Lorine "Iola" (DAVIS) PLANK. He died Saturday, Aug. 8, 1998, in Gore. He married Lorene HARRISON Feb. 4, 1956, in Charleston, Ark. She preceded him in death March 10, 1995. Survivors include four sons, Richard, Jimmy Earl, Bobby Joe and David; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one sister, Wanda ; and five brothers, Alfred, Lewis, Sherman "Buddy", Homer "Lucky" and Bobby Jack.

Funeral services for Vesta M. "Pete" SMITH, 74, of Vian are being held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Vian Freewill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Willard Kiper and Vernon Smith officiating. Burial is in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Vian, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mr. SMITH was born Feb. 14, 1924, in Vian , to John and Maggie (SPECK) SMITH. He died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 1998, in Sallisaw. He married Edna LaVerne FAULK Jan. 27, 1951, in Vian. Survivors include his wife, LaVerne SMITH of the home; two daughters, Kathy and Susan; three sons Darrell, Richard, and Johnny; 12 grandchildren, Margaret, Amanda, Melissa, Johnna, Terri, Denise, Kevin, Sheila, Samantha, Matthew, Dallas, and Billy; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Dica; and one brother Junior . Mr. Smith was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon HAYES in 1990 and two brothers, Cletus SMITH and Joseph SMITH.

Funeral services for Albert STEPHENS, 77, of Alma, Ark., will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Ocker Chapel in Alma. Burial will be in Gill Cemetery in Van Buren, Ark., under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Alma. Mr. STEPHENS died Sunday, Aug. 9, 1998, at his home. Survivors include one sister, Syble; two granddaughters, Suzanne and Mary Irene "Missy"; four grandsons, Donald W., Ronald D, Hugh W. and Wayne; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services for Dennis Coleman TWIST, 51, of Claremore will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Woodlawn Cemetery in Claremore. Mr. TWIST was born Dec. 29, 1944, in Hanson, to Auldon and Foster TWIST. He died Monday, Aug. 10, 1998. Survivors include his mother, Auldon TWIST; one sister and brother-in-law, Melba and Bill; one nephew and his wife, Keith and Diana; two nieces , Misti and husband Dennis, Dawn; one great-niece, Ginger and four great-nephews, Chris, Alex, James and Gary. Arrangements are under the direction of Claremore Funeral Home.

Gibson, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mr. FREED was born Oct. 29, 1926, in Anthony, Kan., to Orlie Lester FREED Sr. and Emily Grace (THOMAS) FREED. He died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 1998, in Little Rock, Ark. He married Arbaleta Inez DAY Feb. 24, 1958, in Pineville, Mo. Survivors include his wife, Arbaleta FREED of the home; one son, John David; two daughters, Cynthia Lynn and Melesa Kay; five grandchildren, Samuel, Leslye, Andrew, Danyal and Casey; three sisters, Florence, Doris and Hattie; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Mr. FREED was preceded in death by one brother, Clarence FREED in 1985.

Survivors include three daughters, Tressie, Betty and Shirley; five sons, Claudie, Charles, Vernon, Willie and Buddie; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services for John "J. D. " COLE, 79, of Edmond will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Smith Memorial Chapel in Gurthrie, with the Rev. Kenneth Lay of Edmond officiating. Burial will be in Summit View Cemetery in Guthrie, under the direction of Smith Funeral Home in Guthrie. Mr. COLE was born June 19, 1919, in Muldrow to James and Idella COLE. He died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 1998, in Edmond. Survivors include his wife Dorothy of the home; two sons and one daughter-in-law, James and Debbie, and Jeremy; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lori and Bobby, Karen and Mike; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Morgan, Megan, Joshua, Kimberly, Nicole, and Chauntel; and one sister, Inez;

Burial was in Sallisaw City Cemetery, under the direction of Mallory-Wheeler Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mrs. SMITH was born in Vian, to Bee CAMPBELL and Lilly (MILLS) CAMPBELL. She died Saturday, Aug. 1, 1998, in Sallisaw. Survivors include two dons and daughters-in-law, Dewayne and Brenda, Harold and Ila; two sisters, Bonnie and Grace; one brother, Ray; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for F. "Forere" TARPLEY, 96, of Muldrow, formerly of Gore and Webbers Falls, are being held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Agent Chapel in Muldrow. The Revs. Laymon Garrison and Garner Garrison are officiating. Burial is in Gore Cemetery, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Muldrow. Mr. TARPLEY was born Oct. 4, 1901, near Mesquite, Texas, to Sheley and Nancy (HUDSON) TARPLEY. He died Monday, Aug. 17, 1998, in the Sequoyah East Nursing Center in Roland. He married Eva Lois LANGSTON March 16, 1982, in Muskogee. Funeral services for Innia Marie HOSIER, 94, of Uniontown, Ark., were held at 10 a.m. Friday at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren, Ark., with the Rev. Ed Baker officiating. Burial was in Macedonia Cemetery near Uniontown, under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren. Mrs. HOSIER died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 1998, in Muldrow. Survivors include one daughter, Velma; four sons, Earl, Elmer, Glen and Ronald; 18 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Eddie OVERHOLT, 94, of Vian were held at 10 a.m. Friday at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Vian, with Dr. Lee Woodard officiating. Mrs. OVERHOLT was born July 14, 1904, in Paducah, Ky., to John and Alice May (FARMER) HINES. She died Wednesday, Aug. 19, 1998, in Vian. Survivors include several nieces and nephews, including Lillian, Eula, Kathryn, Gladys, Charlene, Joann and Mary. Mrs. OVERHOLT was preceded in death by her husband, Lee OVERHOLT. Arrangements were under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw.

Graveside services for Jessie Eugene "Bull" SPENCER, 58, of Vian were held at 11 a.m. Friday at Box Cemetery, north of Vian, with the Revs. Bill Willis and Robert Fuller officiating. Mr. SPENCER was born, May 2, 1940, in Tishimingo, to Jesse Bryant SPENCER and Beulah (BIGGS) SPENCER. He died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 1998, in Vian. He married Anna Bernice Davis June 14, 1994, in Fort Smith. Survivors include his wife, Bernice SPENCER of the home; two sons, David Eugene and Steve; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; his mother, Beulah; five step-sons, Clayton, Troy, Stacy, Daniel and Trey; one brother, Richard; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Arrangements were under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw.

Burial was in Akins Cemetery, northeast of Sallisaw, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mr. DOVER was born Aug. 23, 1964, in Muskogee, to Fred and Catherine (CODAY) DOVER. He died Saturday, Aug. 22, 1998, in Sallisaw. Survivors include three daughters, Dusti, Delia and Chelsea; one son, Marshall; one granddaughter, Carla; his mother, Catherine, DOVER; one brother, Mike; one sister, Barbara; maternal grandmother, Helen LARREMORE; maternal grandfather, Grant CODAY ; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. DOVER was preceded in death by one son, Shane DOVER, and one daughter, April DOVER, one brother, Billy DOVER, and his father, Fred DOVER.

Burial is in Old Bokoshe Cemetery, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mr. FESPERMAN was born Jan. 30, 1916, in Howe, to John Robert FESPERMAN and Lula Mae (DOSON) FESPERMAN. He died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 1998, in Fort Smith, Ark. He married Lavern STINNETT Oct. 8, 1938, in Bokoshe. Survivors include his wife, Lavern FESPERMAN of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Larry; one granddaughter, Sherie; two grandsons, Bill and Jim; six great-grandchildren; one brother, James E.; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Mr. FESPERMAN was preceded in death by one daughter, Shelba AINSWORTH in 1970.

Burial was in Caney Cemetery, under the direction of Reed-Culver Funeral Home in Tahlequah. Mr. HOLCOMB was born Dec. 25, 1939, in Welling, to Johnson Richard HOLCOMB and Eliza (PIGEON) HOLCOMB. He died Friday, Aug. 21, 1998, in Vian. He married Mary Alice SANDS in 1978. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Ray Dean and Tracy R., Darrell Don and Angela; three daughters Sarah Jean, Rita Jo, and Denisa Gail; four brothers, Charley, Oly, Joe and Henry; three sisters, Betty, Mamie, and Annie; eight grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives, friends and loved ones. Mr. HOLCOMB was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Jeff HOLCOMB, and one son, Dale Ray HOLCOMB.

Funeral services for James Clifford McMASTER, of Merced, Calif., were held at 11 a.m., Aug. 14, at Stratford Evans Funeral Chapel in Merced. Entombment was in Evergreen, under the direction of Stratford Evans Funeral Home in Merced. Mr. McMASTER was born Dec. 22, 1916, in Le Grand, Calif., to Roy and Sadie (TETZLAFF) McMASTER. He died Sunday, Aug. 9, 1998, in Merced. His paternal grandparents were John and Fannie (BRAY) McMASTER of Le Grand. His maternal grandparents were August and Kate (PATTERSON) TEZAFF of Merced. In 1940 he married Edna Mae FRANKS, formerly of Vian. Survivors include his wife, Edna Mae McMASTER; one daughter, Patricia; two granddaughters, Catherine "Cricket" and Christy; one grandson, Patrick; one great-granddaughter, Melissa; one sister, Carol M.; one great-niece, Carol Leigh; several cousins; and other relatives and friends in Sequoyah County. Mr. McMASTER was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents and a favorite niece, Roberta LAVELL.

Burial was in Antioch Cemetery, under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home in Stigler. Mr. STUBBLEFIELD was born Nov. 8, 1907, in Bristow, to William M. and Ida (WILSON) STUBBLEFIELD. He died Thursday, Aug. 20, 1998, in Stigler. Survivors include five daughters, Pauline, Jewell, Pat, Patsy, and JoAnn; three sons, Billy R, San, and Jimmy R.; one sister, Grace ; one half sister, Ida Bell; one half-brother, Bill; 22 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. He died Monday, Aug. 24, 1998, at W. W. Hastings Hospital in Tahlequah. He married Norma STEPHENS Dec. 19, 1959, in Poteau. Survivors include his wife Norma WASHINGTON of the home; three sons, Steven, Brian and Brad; one brother, A. R. ; six sisters, Ima, Patricia, Joan, Phyllis, Carolyn and Brenda; and seven grandchildren. Mr. WASHINGTON was preceded in death by his father and mother, step-father, Dutch SOURJOHN, and one brother, Billy WASHINGTON. .
