A visitation will be held between 9 and 11 a.m. on Friday, May 4,
at Hooper and Weaver Mortuary in Nevada City for Hazel Louise
Faulkner Walling. A graveside service will follow at 11 a.m at
Sierra Memorial Lawn. At 12:30 p.m., there will be a memorial
service, with a reception following, at the Penn Valley Community
Church. Pastor William R. White, Mrs. Walling's great-grandson,
will officiate. Mrs. Walling passed away with her family by her
side April 28 in Auburn. She was 92.
Mrs. Walling was born Aug. 30, 1914, to Jefferson Wilce Faulkner
and Nora Alice Lucas Faulkner in Tennessee. She completed the 11th
grade at White Sand School in Bryan County, Okla.
On Nov. 22, 1932, she married Bob Walling in Darwin, Okla. Mrs.
Walling was a homemaker and ranch hand with her husband on their
cattle ranch in Missouri.
She moved from Lebanon, Mo., to California in 1993. In Nevada
County, Mrs. Walling attended the Lutz Adult Day Services where
she looked on the staff and her fellow participants as her second
family.
She was a member of the Eastern Star in Morris, Okla., the Home
Demonstration Club in Henryetta, Okla., and the Church of Christ
in Grass Valley. In her free time, she enjoyed hunting, fishing,
crocheting and gardening.
Mrs. Walling is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Melvin
and Marie Faulkner of Wanette, Okla.; daughters and sons-in-law,
Carolyn Walling Wallace and Bob Wallace of Olathe, Colo. and
Charlene Walling White and Ray White of Penn Valley;
grandchildren, Robert Wallace and wife, Dianne, of Beaverton,
Ore., Carol Ann and husband, Bill Zick, of Sahuarita, Ariz., Bob
White and wife, Maryann of Woodlake, Don White of Grass Valley,
Ron White and wife, Marjan of Redding and Glenn White of
Vacaville; six great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren;
and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews in Oklahoma, Missouri,
Texas, Tennessee, Washington and Indiana. She was preceded in
death by her mother and father, husband of 63 years, Bob Walling,
in 1996; brothers, Earl, Elra, Kile, Fred, J.W. and Frank
Faulkner.
Mrs. Walling was a very caring and loving person and was known for
her beautiful eyes and smile. She loved her family, God and
babies.

Lutz Adult Day Services, 138 New Mohawk Road, Suite B-1, Nevada
City, 95959.

Mortuary.
