OBITUARY: The Star, Stratford, Oklahoma, Date Unknown. --- Obituary Mrs. H. T.
Howell - Miss Alice Adaline Stroupes was born in Clark County, Arkansas, June
13, 1859, died at the home of her daughter at Antlers,
Okla., February 12, 1936. Age 76 years 7 months and 29 days. Funeral
services were held February 13, 1936, interment was made in the cemetery near
Dealey [Dela Cemetery]. She was married to Rev.
H. T. Howell in Clark County, Arkansas, August 13, 1877 then they moved to a
farm near Stratford, O. T. and have lived in this coummunity ever since. About
two weeks before her death she asked to be taken to her daughter's Mrs. L. J.
Glaze near Antler's, Oklahoma, where she passed away. Twelve children were
born, nine of whom are still living, J. M. Howell, Stratford, Ernest Howell,
Stratford, Leonard Howell, Tallent, Okla., John Howell, Mena Arkansas, Mrs. L.
J. Glaze, Antlers, Okla., Mrs. Carl Cotton, Atwood, Okla., Mrs. M. C. Standridge,
Opal, Arkansas, Mrs. W. O. Edwards, Turlock, Calif., Mrs. J. M. Herron,
Sacramento, Calif. Mrs. Howell was sick since April 1935 and died from cancer of
the throat, suffering untold pain. She had been a member of the Baptist church
for nearly --- century and lived strong in the faith. The Star extends sympathy
to the bereaved family who have lost a loving wife and mother.
