The Pawnee Chief

   TAJ ADAM THOMAS, 25, passed away in Shawnee on Tuesday, August 5, 2003 following a vehicle accident, and funeral services were held in Shawnee Friday 
and Saturday.
He was born on January 3, 1978, in Norman, Okla., to Robert Lee Thomas and Teresa Ann (Williams) Thomas. HE was reared in Little Axe and Shawnee,
attended school in Shawnee and earned his GED.
He was a member of the Pawnee, Absentee Shawnee and Creek tribes and attended the New Life Church of Christ.
Surviving is father, Bobby Thomas, Pawnee; mother Annie Thomas, Shawnee and 3 brothers – Miles Thomas, Joel Thomas of the home and B.T. Thomas of
Shawnee, plus grandparents Patricia Williams, Shawnee and Estelle and Thomas Stevens of McLoud and many other relatives.
Wake was held at 7 p.m. on Friday, August 8, at the Absentee Shawnee Tribal Building, Shawnee and the funeral service was held on Saturday, August 9,
2003, at 10 a.m., also at the Absentee Shawnee Tribal Building with pastor Betty Young officiating. Interment followed in the Williams Family Cemetery
under direction of the Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
