The Pawnee Chief

   ESTER MILLER COX, 64, formerly of Pawnee, passed away on August 1 in Ardmore, Okla., hospital and funeral services were held on Monday, August 4, 2003, 
in Tishomingo.
She was born in Pawnee on Oct. 25, 1938, to Harvey and Dorothy (Darnold) Dallas. She attended schools in Pawnee and married Walt Miller on Nov. 15,
1954 in Ardmore. He preceded her in death on March 25, 1999. She married Eugene Cox on Oct. 7, 2002 in Tishomingo where they made their home.
She worked as a seamstress in a Tishomingo sewing factory of 25 years and also worked in the housekeeping department of Murray State College. Ester was
affiliated with the Church of Christ.
Surviving is her husband, Eugene Cox, of the home, plus 4 sons and 3 daughters: Stanley and Mark Miller, both of Reagan; Faron Miller of Denison, Texas
and Michael Miller, Sapulpa;; Sandra Clement, Vickie Huckelby and Glenda Miller, all of Reagan and 6 stepchildren.
Also surviving are 6 sisters: Doris Anderson and Norma Freeman, Vinita; Elsie Berg, Chelsea; Goldie Crider, Cleveland, Okla.; Wanda Goodman, Copan and
Clara Eshelman, Pawnee and a brother, Merle Dallas, Jennings and 10 grandchildren.
The funeral was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 4, at the Westside Church of Christ in Tishomingo with the Rev. Wendell Ingram officiating. Interment
was in the Troy Cemetery, under direction of the Clark Funeral Home of Tishomingo.
