                        MRS.CLARA DOWNS SUCCUMBS IN PICHER

       
              Picher Okla.,Jan.2-, Mrs.Clara Florence Downs,64 years old,914
North Netta street,died,at 8 O'clock last night at the home of a daughter,Mrs.Dollie
Latimer,East Tenth street.Death was due to a complication of ailninents and followed
 a long illiness.
               Surviving are the husband,Jacob Downs,three daughters,Mrs.Ethel Virden of
St.Louis Mo.,Mrs.Maud Hokins of Fairfax Okla.,and the daughter at whose home Mrs.
Downs died and four sons,Roy Downs,Ray Downs,Claude and Lee Downs,all of Picher Okla.,
                Funeral services will be conducted at Frist Baptist church at 2:30 o'clock Sunday
afternoon,The pastor the Rev.Billie Bain,will officiate and burial will be in G.A.R.cemetery,
Miami Okla.,under the direction of the Green undertaking company.
                Pallbearers will be commander and five past commanders of the Picher American
Legien.They are G.A.Rodger,Dr.E.A.Aisenstadt,M.J.Kerley,J.H.Durnil,H.M.Rider, and Ed
Masterson.
               Honorary Pallbears,also legionnaires,will be George Hall,William Harvey,Nobel
DePriest,George Raouts,Roy Suman and Charlies Cronk.
