Wilbur J. "Wib" Truby , 66, died on Dec. 16, 2009. He was born on Nov. 11, 1943, in Durant, to W. J. Truby , Sr., and Bertha (Angelley) Truby. He graduated from Durant High School and served in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

He received a master's degree from Oklahoma State University in environmental sciences. Wib managed a research facility in Colorado for two years, then returned to Oklahoma to work for the Oklahoma State Department of Health as an environmental investigator. He was the owner and president of Phaedrus Associates, a company which performed environmental site assessments, and he wrote computer software to expedite this process. In recent years, he taught veterans and others to read through Literacy Link in Midwest City.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Dawn; daughters Rebecca Formby and Phyllis Hageman; grandchildren Cory Truby , Michael Formby and Theresa Formby; a great-grandson and his brother Chris Truby .

His service was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, at Candlewood Chapel. Interment followed at Kolb Cemetery, N. E. 36th and Midwest Boulevard, Spencer, both under the direction of Ford Funeral Service.
