I'm looking for information on the Baker family that lived in the Le Flore/Haskell Co. Oklahoma area. Grandpa was named Charles Gilbert Baker and Grandma was Mary Elizabeth 'Chipley' Baker. The Bakers ran a small family store near Howe and Heavener for many years. There is suppose to be an Indian connection on the Baker's side. Does anyone know who the Indian was or what the Baker Indian number was? If you have any information about this family or have family ties to them please contact me at
willifordh@worldnet.att.net Thanks for your help! Cheryl Williford

Looking for information on the line of George W. THOMAS and his son Charlie F. They were to have been in Muskcogee Co around 1900. They left in 1915. A newspaper in Shirley, AR, where they were from and moved back to, stated that Mrs. Matilda THOMAS and children returned from Muskogee, OK and that Mr. G. W. THOMAS was to follow after selling their crop. Other family members and connected lines may have stayed in OK. These lines are GOODNIGHT, HARNESS, HENSLEY, MOODY and WEAVER. Any help would be most welcome.

My Grandmother ELVA FITCH married O. MCLEAN and settled in Muskogee some time after 1903. She died in Texas in 1994 at the age of 106. Her husband died approximately 50 years prior and is buried in Muskogee. They had four daughters: SYBIL (MCLEAN) GRANT, MAVIS ROSE (MCLEAN) DAVIS, BETTY JANE (MCLEAN) SUDDUTH and MARY LOU MCLEAN. O. MCLEAN may have had a brother, WILLIAM MCLEAN. O. MCLEAN built houses on 16th street and another house that is now a doctor's office. He also owned a farm outside of town that is now a motor inn. I'm a beginning at this so any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

My Cherokee great-grandmother (b. ~1900) Alice Mae(?) LEE MUSE, died in Oklahoma in approximately 1928 (my grandma, Lorraine Elizabeth MUSE, was born in 1916 and said her mother died when she was ~12). She was apparently in a car accident and died soon after due to unknown-about internal injuries. She was buried in Prairie Co., Arkansas. This is all I've been able to get on her. I would like to get her death certificate but my information is not specific enough. I don't know the specific date or even the town she was in. I believe she had family ties in the Muskogee Co. and Sequoyah Co. areas, and possibly Sallisaw, and that is where I'm beginning to search for her death info. Her parents were Albert(?) "Al" (a blacksmith) and Elizabeth "Lizzie" LEE who resided in AR. She was married to Thomas Jefferson MUSE. I would appreciate any help (obits, newspaper clipping, death index, whatever) anyone out there can give me. Thanks a bunch! KS
