According to Dr Emmett Starr, Charlotte Goss Cordery, the widow of David Cordery, with her six children emigrated from the Cherokee Nation in Georgia in the winter of 1838-39..... David Cordery son of Thomas and Sonicooie Cordery died in Georgia in 1837. ... [Charlotte & David's children] Thomas who married Sally Vickery; Wilson, who married Nancy Miller and Nancy Half; Andrew, who married Mary Adair, nee Miller; Seaborn, who married Catherine McDaniel and Nannie J Smith; Charlotte, who married Unakateehee Rider; and Nannie, who married Washington Miller and John Hampton. The children of Wilson Cordery and Nannie Miller were: Lewis, who married Eliza Hicks, nee Gourd; Thomas Clark, who married Amanda Pack, the grandparents of Minnie West; Malderine, who married Henry Collins and Samuel Horn; Cornelius, who married Sarah Tucker; William who married Elizabeth Rattlinggourd; Anderson (Cooper), who married Laura Isaacs and Suzie Hendricks. Wilson Condery's children by Nancy Hall were: Louisa, who married Albert Anderson; Joseph, who married Elizabeth Brown; and Rosa, who married Henry Graham and William Marsh. .... Albert Anderson was born in 1856 and died in 1937. Louisa Cordery Anderson was born on Christmas Day, 1865 and died in 1913. ... [married] Louisa daughter of Wilson and Nancy Cordery in 1881 ... parents of Nancy, who married James M Pierce; John Dennis, who married Margaret Post; William M, who married Nelle Hurst; Joseph E, who did not marry; Mark, who married Elizabeth Glory; Fannie, who married W H Haworth. Samson Barabee, a farmer-stockman, came to Gibson Station, across the river from Ft. Gibson in 1892. Pg 120 <complete>

Henry Starr, one of Ft Gison's infamous citizens began his life of crime in 1892. This continued until he was shot while robbing a bank. He had the questionable honor of being sentenced three times by "Hanging Judge" Isaac Parker, with the decision being reversed twice and his being pardoned by President Theodore Roosevelt on the third occasion. Adna Starr Benge, generally called Aunt or Cousin Addie, was a sister of Henry Starr, and her life was devoted to service to others. She taught many of the citizens of Ft Gibson, and was a perfect example of one who chose to dedicate her life to inspire and help others. Pg 121 <complete>

The Stillwater Gazette reported September 29, 1893 that the mail stage which ran between Ft Gibson and Tahlequah had been robbed.
