Hamilton Haskins

Hamilton Haskins was born 1824 in South Carolina.

He was the son of James and Anna Haskins.

James died june 1860 in Campbell co Ga of Measles[1860 mortality schedule]

He married Charity Gibson July 16, 1846 in Campbell co Ga.

by 1860 they were in Walker Co ala. Their children were

[1] Louisa Jane born 1848 Married 31 Robert Raines #2 Rueben Southard 33 Frank White

[2] John W. born 1852 married Pamila Priscilla Raines

[3] George Washington born 1854 married #1 Mary Raines #2 Sophenia Burt

[4]Joseph Wilson born 1856 married Julia Davis

[5] Charity A. born 1859[nothing found on her after 1880 census]

[6] Mary Alice born 1861 married H.B. Fancher [ he may have been her 2nd husband . they married 1898 in Boone Co ark]

Hamilton went into the Civil War in Walker co Feb 22 1862. he was a Private in Co F.

He was killed 4 months later in June 1862.

By 1868 Charity had died in Walker co

in 1867 Louisa married Robert Bailey Raines and in 1868 John w. married Roberts sister Pamela Priscilla Raines

Robert and Priscilla were the children of William Bailey and Elizabeth Kennymore Raines

John was not over 18 when his Mother died but he raised his 4 younger siblings.

In the fall of 1868 they left Walker co with Priscillas parents, went into Tenn for a few months and arrived in Boone co Ark in Early 1870.

on the 1870 boone co census they were living in Rolling Prairie township. Priscilla was omitted from the census but her and Johns 1st child Francis is listed. their other children were ;

[2]John W Jr. born Dec 14 1872 married Phena Hurd in 1902 died 1906 at Meeker Okla.

[3] Lucy born Oct 1874 married John Rowan

[4] George Lawson born aug 1881 married Mary Hampton

[5]Hamilton [Tony]Born 1880

[6]Bell born jan 1886 married Brad Brazell

[7]Francis Ann Elizabeth born Feb 1870 married Wm Wyrick died bt 1906-1910 at Bearden Okla

[8 ]Martha born mar 1888 died 1898 with parents

They were in Taney co mo in 1880 and in 1898 they moved to Ft Gibson ,Okla And both died there in 1899 in a Typhoid epidemic . They are buried in the Three Rivers Cem there.
