This is Woodland School at Hoover, west of Davis, circa 1902.
Those pictured are a church group with the Harmon family members labeled.
In the front row you see Henry Harmon, Ada Harmon and Mom, Gertrude Harmon.
In the back row you have Cousin Alice Mars, Winfield Mars and Grandma Harmon.
If you know any of the others, please send email to Brenda Choate to have the names added.

The first lady, holding the baby is Alice Brittenburg Myers, wife of
Winfield Scott Myers, (the man standing in front of her). The blonde
lady in darker dress standing behind Winfield is his mother, Mary Jane
"Molly" Brawley Myers. She is wife of William Henry Harrison "Billy"
Myers. These four owned and operated the Trading Post "General Store"
in the Arbuckle Mountains near Davis, OK. The baby that Alice is
holding is either their first born child, Gretchen E. Myers born in 1900
or their second child, Mary Elizabeth Myers born 11/7/1901. If the
baby is Elizabeth then I think the little girl sitting in the first
chair with the white dress on is Gretchen E. Myers. The boy standing
next to Winfield is prob. his brother, Sam Myers. The young lady 6th
person down from Winfield is his sister, my grandmother, Elizabeth Pearl
Myers born August 26, 1882 in Ft Worth, Tarrant county TX and died
8/12/1972 in Pauls Valley, OK. She is wearing a white top with a black
collar or neck band with a dark skirt, her arms and hands in front of
her. The man on HER left, with dark jacket and white shirt on is her
first husband, Homer Henderson. I am told by family members that Homer
Henderson was an American Indian. They were married in 1899 I believe
and they were only married a short time, prob. no more than a year. My
Grandmother, Pearl Elizabeth Myers married my grandfather, John William
Slaughter in March 19, 1902.

I am having a difficult time believing that this photo was taken in
1902, given the fact that her first husband is in the photo with her,
and she married my grandfather in 3/1902.

The girl standing in front of my grandmother, Pearl Elizabeth Myers,
with the blonde hair or reddish blonde hair, dark dress on is her
younger sister, Mamie Frances Myers who later married Tom Anderson.
Back against the building in the middle of the photograph is a tiny
older lady with gray hair and this lady is my grt grt grandmother,
Elizabeth Bunch Brawley, she was wife of Levi Brawley who was killed in
Jack Co., TX between 1865-1870 by Indians. Elizabeth and Levi Brawley
were parents of Mary Jane "Molly" Brawley Myers and John Alexander
Brawley, Elizabeth Bunch Brawley is my grandmother's maternal grandmother.
Gretchen Myers would grow up to marry, Wesley Freeman, son of her grt
aunt Malynda Myers Freeman. She died during child birth with her first
born and is buried with her first born in her arms in the Myers Cemetery
near the old Myers Arbuckle Trading Post there in Murray County OK,
along with her sister, her mother, Alice, her father, Winfield, her
grandfather W.H.H. Myers, and her grt grandmother, Elizabeth Bunch Brawley.
I only know the name of my grandmother's first husband through a cousin
who told me his name. I have found no facts and no further information
to prove that this was his name at this time.
I am sure that Charlie and William (Bill) Myers are in this photo as
well but at this time I have not identified which ones they are. If I
had to guess at this time, I would say that the blonde boy in the second
chair in front of Winfield is Charlie Myers, and the boy in the fourth chair is Bill Myers.

I found the marriage date for Pearl Elizabeth Myers and J. H. Henderson on the Chickasaw Nation
Marriages. They were apparently married on 9/10/1902, and it lists her as being 18 and Mr.
Henderson as being 21. It says they were married in Burneyville, Davis, OK. J.H. Henderson was
Indian. Since this date has been established, then I know that the child in Alice’s arms is her
second child Mary Elizabeth Myers and the little girl in the first chair with the white dress on is
Winfield and Alice’s first child, Gretchen Ethel Myers. This photo could very well have been taken on
Henderson/Myers wedding day but I do not know that for certain.
