S. attorney general, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday July 20,1968 at the Stufflebean Funeral Home chapel. He died Thursday July 18. Henderson, 95, was a local Republican leader and pioneer lawyer. He came to Pauls Valley in 1899 as a school teacher and opened a law practice two years later. Henderson served as Pauls Valley postmaster several years prior to 1923, when he was appointed counsel for the alien property custodian in Washington, D. C. Henderson later was appointed a special assistant to the U. S. attorney general and remained in Washington until 1933, when he returned to Pauls Valley and his law practice. He was honored in 1962 by the Garvin County and state bar associations for 64 years of practicing law. Henderson belonged to the Baptist church. He is survived by a son, Jim Henderson of Lindsay; three daughters, Mrs. Virginia Hodges of Fayetteville, Pa., Mrs. Frances Stutler of Lindsay and Mrs. Ragna Blake of Pauls Valley. Burial will be in Foster Cemetery. The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ *********************************************************************** Garvin County Obituaries Mrs. Henderson's funeral Thursday Funeral services for Mrs. Marion Henderson, 73, of Pauls Valley, a former county clerk, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday in the First Methodist Church here. Rev. Loren Heaton, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in the Foster Cemetery under direction of Stufflebean Funeral Home. Mrs. Henderson, a resident of Garvin County more than half a century, died at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday in the N. H. Lindsey Memorial hospital. She had been in ill health the last several years. She was born Ragna Nymoen, daughter of Johanna and Andreas Nymoen, in Hurdalen, Norway, Aug. 25, 1888. She made her home in Hurdalen and later attended school in Oslo. She came to America in 1907 and was married to Franklin Jackson Pearce in 1908, at which time she cane to Foster to make her home. She lived there until 1921 when she moved to Pauls Valley. Three children were born to this union, two of whom died in infancy. After the death of her husband in 1930, she became county clerk and served in that office for several years. In 1933 she married Marion Henderson. Mrs. Henderson was a member of the First Methodist church here and the P.E.O. sisterhood. Survivors include her husband, Marion Henderson of the home address; one sister, Mrs. Louise Solberg of Seattle, Wash.; one brother, John Nymoen of Oslo, Norway; one daughter, Mrs. Roger T. Blake of Pauls Valley; five grandchildren, Mrs. Beverly Blake Evans, of Oklahoma City and Pearce Blake, Joe Blake, John Blake and Steve Blake of Pauls Valley; three step-daughters, Mrs. Hazel Thomas of Washington, D. C., Mrs Frances Stutler of Lindsay and Mrs. Virginia Hodges of Chambersburg, Pa., and one step-son, J. R. Henderson of Lindsay. (Obit. fr.
