Drumright! The Glory Days
of a Boom Town by D. Karl Newsom, published 1985 by Evans Publications,

 Documented story, told in words
and rare pictures, of the speculators who brought about the oil field,
the men and women who built the town, and some important episodes in Drumright's
hectic years, from 1912 to 1941. It tells of life with tents as homes,
the struggle of the law and the lawless, the history of schools and churches,
the era of the Ku Klux Klan, and many special memories.

Drumright II The Glory
Days of a Boom Town; by D. Karl Newsom, published 1987 by Evans Publications,
Inc., Perkins, OK.

 Continues: Drumright!
The Glory Days of a Boom Town.
 In
addition to special memories of Drumright, this book relates the early
days of Shamrock, Oilton, Pemeta, and Olive, and of communities such as
Frey, Crow, Markham, and Villa that are no longer on the maps. More than
200 rare pictures, nearly all unpublished, tell much of the story.
Some of the information about the people mentioned is pre-1912.

She takes the reader on a walk through
Sapulpa down Route 66, from Liberty Glass to the Golf Course.  I could
see all the people in town on Saturdays.  The line at the movie theatre
and smell the food from Carl's Pig Stand; Wimpy's, etc. and those wonderful
Spudnut Donuts. Remember The Beacon beacon dogs?
