GILLETT -- Jack Edgar, 82, resident of Tulsa, died
Wednesday, October 26, 2006, at the Craig General Hospital, after a length
illness. He was born January 16, 1924, in Vinita, to Russell and Eva (Ratcliff)
Gillett. Jack graduated high school from the Oklahoma Military Academy and
college from the University of Oklahoma, with a degree in Journalism. He was a
member of the Sigma Nu fraternity. Jack served 3 years in the United States Navy
during World War II. He had resided in Honolulu, Hawaii for 15 years, then moved
to Tulsa, where he lived for 43 years. He was an Interior Designer with Cathey's
furniture and later worked for Phillips Petroleum, until his retirement. The
family includes: his sister, Jane Price of Vinita; 2 nieces, Sue Jane Rogers of
Tulsa and Shirley James of Little Rock, AR. His parents preceded him in death.
The Funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, October 28, 2006, at the
Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Bob Johns officiating. Interment will
follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Vinita. Casket bearers will be Jim Rogers,
Steve McConnell, Sean McDonald, Kirk and Kegy Ruark, and Roger Rodich. Friends
may give to the Vinita Public School Educational Foundation, 114 S. Scraper,
Vinita, OK 74301. Arrangements are by the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita,
(918) 256-5555.
