 New Hope School
Comanche County

     The New Hope community was located east of Lake Lawtonka.  New Hope was one of three schools in district # 126.
New Hope was the farthest west, with Franklin in the middle and Hess was the eastern school.
     On June 12, 1902, the first school meeting was held at home of W. WEBER.  It was closed about 1942, becoming part of
the Elgin School district.
     Some of the teachers at New Hope were:  J.T. DICKERSON, Emma HARVEY, Ferol CLINE, Viola SESSUMS, Anna
KIRK, Rose BROWN, Esther NORRIS, Clara ROBISON, Florence PEARCY, Mabyn WILSON, Elsie McCONKEY,
Isabel VANDERMARK, Nettie SMITH, Ruth ANDERSON, Agnes HORTON, Daisy MALONE, Geneva TAYLOR,
Gladys MASON, Lettie CRAIG, Bernadetta HARP, Edith PARRISH, Miss L.E.  BARRINGTON, and Odus GLASGOW.
