PENNINGTON - Dr. William David, beloved father, grand father, son, brother, uncle, teacher, mentor, husband and friend passed away on Saturday October 13, 2007. He was born in Anadarko, OK, raised 3 children in Tulsa, OK and currently lived in Tishomingo, OK as President of Murray State College. This man of great faith, character and principle was a life long educator and historian. He lived his life for family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Preceded in death by his mother, Marian Pennington. Survived by: his father, Royce Pennington; his brother, Royce Pennington Jr.; his sister, Pat Merchant; his children, David Pennington, Mallory Roark and Mary Martha Link and their mother, Margaret Pennington Underwood; 4 grandchildren; and wife, Martha Pederson Pennington; her mother, Ruth Peterson and her 2 sons, along with countless other family members and friends. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations may be made to a scholarship fund in his name at Tulsa University or Murray State College. Memorial service was 2 p.m., Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at Murray State College, Tishomingo, OK and Memorial service 3 p.m., Friday, October 19, at Asbury United Methodist Church, Tulsa, OK. Funeral service 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 23 at New Hope Baptist Church West, Duncan, OK.
