Jay, Dane T. 
     Graveside services will be held Wednesday for Dane T. 
Jay, who died March 20, 1988 in Eureka at the age of 61.  
He was a native of Binger, Okla., and a resident of Eureka.
     Mr. Jay worked in the lumber industry for many years.  
An avid bowler, he belonged to the Bowling League.  He also 
loved to fish and especially enjoyed abalone.  He was a 
member of Blue Lake Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
     He is survived by his sons, Alan Jay of Modesto, 
Calif., and Richard Nelson of McKinleyville: his daughters, 
Linda Ogburn of Eureka, Diane Nelson of McKinleyville, and 
Caroline Clark of Claremont, Calif: his brother, Paul Greer 
of Turlock, Calif: eight grandchildren: and numerous nieces 
and nephews.
     He was preceded in death by one sister and two 
brothers.
     Friends are invited to attend graveside services at 
Ocean View Cemetery on Wednesday March 23, 1988 at 1 P.M. 
with Pastor Ted Calkins officiating. Fraternal sevices are 
under the auspices of Blue Lake Post, V.F.W.  Internment is 
at Ocean View Cemetery.
     Casketbearers are Lawrence Tracy, Larry Tracy, Mike 
Lewis, Manuel Borges, Sidney Nix, and Hurshel Sargent.
     Arrangements are under the direction of Pierce 
Mortuary Chapels/Pierce Chapel, Eureka.
