OK - Newspaper The Minco Minstrel Submitted by Nancy Charlton ============================================================================== MINCO I.T. 7 Mar 1902 VOL 12 A COURT DECISION Affecting the Fortunes of a Number of Residents of this Region A decision was rendered by the court of appeals in Washington, Tuesday, which is of vast importance to a number of residents of Minco and vicinity. A special dispatch to the Guthrie State capital says: " In the case of Willis West and others who brought mandamus action against the secretary to compel him to place their names upon the rolls of Wichita tribe and to allot them lands in Wichita county, the court reverses the decision of the supreme court of the district and grant the writ of mandamus prayed for, and remands the case back to the supreme court with instructions to issue the writ of mandamus compelling the secretary of the interior to allot the applicants lands in the Wichita county." The persons affected by this decision are, Willis West, L.K. Bingham, W.G. Williams, Robert Williams, Charles Williams and Robert Curtis, of Minco; Thad Smith and Will McCampbell, of Chickasha, and Jack McLane and Perry Zodeka, of Anadarko, each of whom it places in possession of a find allotment. ==============================================================================
