Shirley, Ellis H. - Sgt. USA; Anadarko, OK; born 14 May 1907 at 
Verden, OK; attended Anadarko HS; in the National Guard from 
1924 to 1940; entered regular service at Anadarko 16 Sep 1940; 
trained at Ft. Sill, OK, Abilene, TX, Ft. Devens, MA, Pine Camp, 
NY and Camp Pickett, VA; served 16 months in the ETO with the 3rd, 
5th and 7th Armies, 45th Div, Btry B; participated in the battles 
of Sicily, Salerno, Anzio and Italy; He was wounded at Anzio; 
discharged 30 May 1945.
