He attended Anadarko Schools and volunteered for service in the navy June 3, 1942. He has been stationed at the Great Lakes Naval Training School in Illinois. ---------------------------------------------- McALLISTER, VERNON, 20, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bob McAllister of Anadarko. He was inducted into the armed services Jan. 28, 1942 and received his basic training at Seymour Johnson Field, N.C. He attended school here and has been stationed at Miami Beach, Fla. ---------------------------------------------- McBRIDE, SGT. CLAUDE W., 22, is the son of Mrs. E.E. McBride of Anadarko. He enlisted Jan. 6, 1937 and has been stationed at Camp Croft, S.C. He attended school in Anadarko. He is married and his wife is with him. ---------------------------------------------- McCARTY, PVT. EDWARD B. is now stationed at Camp Roberts, Calif. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Boon McCarty and is attached to the medical service. He attended school at Erick, Okla. ---------------------------------------------- McCAY, SGT. EARL W., 21, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson McCay of Apache. He entered the service in Sep. 1940 and is now somewhere in Africa. He is married and his wife, the former Welma Burkhead, makes her home in Apache. He attended school in Stecker. ---------------------------------------------- McCAY, PVT. LARRY, 18, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Oney McCay of Anadarko. He is receiving his basic training with an army infantry division at Camp Robinson, Ark. He entered the service in March 1944. He graduated from Broxton High School with the class of 1944 and was engaged in farming with his father before entering the service. ---------------------------------------------- McCLURE, CPL. CECIL L., 21, was born near Fort Cobb and has been a resident of Caddo county ever since. He attended Fort Cobb and Apache schools. He entered the service Jan. 18, 1943 and arrived in France in Jan. 1945. He is serving in an armored force battalion. McClure is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.F. McClure of Apache. His wife, the former Miss Marie Palesano and his daughter make their home in Apache. ---------------------------------------------- McCLURE, 2 LT. RICHARD 'Pete', is a U.S. army censor now stationed in the Hawaiian Islands. He was raised around Gracemont and is the son of former Gracemont residents, Mr. and Mrs. Forest McClure of Stratford, Okla. He is the grandson of Mrs. Emma Metz of Anadarko, whom he lived with for two years while attending high school in Anadarko. He graduated with the graduating class of 1937. He entered the service in Feb. 1939 at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. He is 23 and married. ---------------------------------------------- McCORD, PVT. JAMES G. is the son of Anna Forgey and entered the army Jan. 6, 1943. He is stationed with the search light unit at Camp Haan, Calif. ---------------------------------------------- McCOWN, PFC. RAYMOND ROY has been stationed at Fort Devens, Mass. He transferred there from Camp Barkeley, Texas last March. He lived near Anadarko for six years previous to the mobilization of the 45th Division in 1939. In Feb. 1942 he was married to the former Marie Koch. ---------------------------------------------- McCULLOUGH, WARREN, 21, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. L.G. McCullough of the Broxton community. He attended Broxton School and entered the service in Sep. 1942. He first trained at the Great Lakes training station. ---------------------------------------------- McCURRY, CPL. AUBREY L., 19, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C.W. McCurry of Binger. He entered the marine corps May 14, 1943 and received his boot training at San Diego, Calif. He has been stationed somewhere overseas. He is a graduate of Binger High School. ---------------------------------------------- McDANIEL, PVT. HUGH J., 20, is the son of Rev. and Mrs. J.J. McDaniel of Cogar. He entered the service on June 6, 1944 and received his basic training at Camp Robinson, Ark. He is in the infantry and is now stationed in Italy. He has been overseas since Nov. 1944. McDaniel attended grade school at Hazel Dell and graduated from Binger High School in 1942. ---------------------------------------------- McGEE, PFC. JAMES R., is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James C. McGee of Binger. He is stationed at Fort Sill in Lawton and is an instructor in his gun section. He enlisted at the age of 18 in 1940. He was a member of the 1940 senior class of Binger High School. ---------------------------------------------- McGILL, PVT. RAY, is the son of Joe Austin McGill of Anadarko and was captured by the Japanese May 7, 1942. He is 22. He writes that the Niponese treat them well and that he is in good health. ---------------------------------------------- McLEMORE, PVT. CLARENCE C. is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Otis McLemore of Gracemont. He is stationed at Aberdene Proving Grounds in Maryland. His wife, Mrs. Ruth McLemore, and their four children, make their home in Anadarko. He enlisted in the quartermaster corps May 30, 1945 and received his training at Camp Chaffee, Ark., and Camp Lee, Va. He attended school at Pleasant Hill near Gracemont and was employed by the Douglas Aircraft before he entered the service. ---------------------------------------------- McNEILL, PVT. FLOYD O., 22, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.H. McNeill of Apache. He entered the service in Jan. 1942 and has been stationed at Harding Field in Baton Rouge, La. He attended school at Apache and Anadarko Business College. ---------------------------------------------- McNEILL, PVT. LEO GLENN, 18, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl McNeill of Gracemont. He entered the army in 1944 and received his basic training at Camp Robinson, Ark. He is now stationed with the 90th infantry division in Germany. He has been awarded the Bronze Star Medal for a campaign in Germany, the sharp shooting medal, and rifleman's medal. He attended school at Spring Creek and graduated from Gracemont High School. ---------------------------------------------- McPHERSON, CPL. DAMON L., 22, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. O.T. McPherson of Anadarko. He is a graduate of Bridgeport High School and served three years in the regular army at Fort Sill in Lawton before entering the air corps Aug. 17, 1941. He has been stationed in Alabama. ---------------------------------------------- McPHERSON, PVT. RAY is the son of D.R. McPherson of Fort Cobb. He entered the service Jan. 22, 1942 and has been stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C. He attended schools in Caddo County and is 23 years old. ----------------------------------------------
