ELDEN, 21, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. M.M. Gaddis of Anadarko. He was inducted into the service in March 1943 and took his basic training at Fresno, Calif. and Denver, Colo., for training in the air corps. He has been stationed at Fort Sumner, N.M. He attended school here and was employed at Visalia, Calif., at the time of his induction into the armed service. GAILY, PFC. HUGH, 20, is the son of Mrs. W.L. Gaily of Denison, Texas. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. A.E. Brownen of Gracemont. He entered the U.S. Army May 28, 1943 and has been stationed at Chanute Field, Ill. He attended school at Denison, Texas. GAINES, S-SGT. HARDY is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edmond Gaines of Verden. He attended school in Chickasha and entered the service January 13, 1942. He was first stationed at Fort Knox, Ky. and then Camp Claiborne, La. for 14 months. He is 26 years old and single. GALENDO, PVT. TONY, 22, is now stationed with an artillery unit in California. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Galendo of Anadarko. He entered the service in February 18, 1942. He attended school in Cyril. GALLAHER, S2c JACK, USN, is the 17 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. R.F. Gallaher of Anadarko. He enlisted in the navy August of 1943 and was stationed at San Diego, Calif., where he attended gunnery school. He attended school in Anadarko. GALLAHER, JIMMIE, 18, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Art Gallaher of Anadarko. He entered the coast guard August 16, 1943 and has been stationed at Manhattan Beach, N.Y. He is a graduate of Anadarko High School. He is now attending signal school. GARCIA, CPL. FRANK, 22, of Anadarko is with the 45th Division formerly of Camp Barkeley, Texas. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Garcia of Anadarko and joined the National Guard in Anadarko in 1938. He is an outstanding athlete. He graduated from Anadarko High School. GARDNER, S2c FRED, San Diego, Calif., entered the service on December 22, 1942. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. G.M. Gardner of Gracemont and is 18 years old. He attended school at Gracemont and has one brother, Waymon, 26, now in Hawaii. GARDNER, PVT. WAYMON is the son of Mr. and Mrs. G.M. Gardner of Gracemont. He attended and graduated from Gracemont High School. He served one year with the National Guards before its mobilization. He has been in the service since March 2, 1942 and is now stationed at Fort Lewis, Wash. He was married on January 7, 1942 and his wife now makes her home in Los Angeles, Calif. GARNER, PFC. CECIL E. of Fort Sam Houston, Texas, volunteered and has been in the service for the past two years. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Garner of Anadarko and attended school at Oak Dale and Roach and was a farmer before enlisting. GARRETT, PVT. CLARENCE R., 19, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Garrett of Gracemont. He was inducted into service at Fort Sill in Lawton May 27, 1943 and was sent to Camp Roberts, Calif., for his basic training. He attended school at Shamrock before entering the service. He has been stationed at Fort Ord, Calif., for instruction in using heavy weapons. GARRETT, S2c DAVID A., 26, of Gracemont entered the navy in 1945. He received his boot training at San Diego, Calif., and is now overseas. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Garrett. GARRETT, PVT. GEORGE F. is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Garrett of Gracemont. He entered the service in September of 1942 and has been stationed at Camp Campbell, Ky. He attended school at Shamrock. GARRETT, CAPT. LOUIS H. is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W.M. Garrett of Anadarko. He completed a four week instructor's course at Randolph Field, San Antonio, Texas and after a short visit here will be transferred back to his post at the Victorville, Calif., army flying school. He was born in Lookeba and graduated from Anadarko High School in 1934. He attended and graduated from the University of Wichita, Kan., where he was a member of Scabbard and Blade honorary military fraternity. He is married and his wife and daughter make their home with him in California. GATLIN, PVT. HUEY, 24, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gatlin of Anadarko. He attended school at Elderberry and enlisted February of 1942. GATLIN, PVT. JACK, 20, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gatlin of Anadarko. He attended school in Anadarko and entered the service in December of 1942. He has been stationed at Fort Benning, Ga. GEE, PVT. BILLY J., is the grandson of Mrs. T.E. Belcher and the nephew of Oliver Gee of the Broxton community. He entered the marines in October of 1943 and has been stationed at San Diego, Calif., and Oceanside, Calif. He attended Broxton and Apache schools. GENTRY, PFC. EMMANUAL H., 23, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. F.N. Gentry of Verden. He was inducted into the army October 14, 1942 at Fort Sill. He took his basic training in Camp Callen, San Diego, Calif., and received further training at Fort Scott, San Francisco, Calif; Camp Williston, Nev.; and Newport News, Va., where he embarked for North Africa. He has been in the service for two years and has been home on a furlough reporting back to his station at Newport News, Va., September 6. He attended school at LaCrosse, north of here. He is attached to the Military Police. GENTRY, QUENTIN D., of the United States Navy is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C.F. Gentry of Gracemont. He graduated May 22 from the U.S. Naval Aviation Radio School in Seattle, Wash. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in Lawton, December 8, 1941. He graduated from Gracemont High School and attended the University of Oklahoma in Norman for two years. GIBSON, ROBERT LEE is the son of Mrs. Will Gibson. He is stationed at Gulfport, Miss. He entered the service December 28, 1942. He had his boot camp training at Norfolk, Va., and was transferred to Gulfport May 1. He attended Lincoln School here to the 10th grade. He is 18. GIBSON, S3c ROSS, USN, 22, is the son of Mrs. Ada Gibson of Los Angeles, Calif., former residents of Lookeba. He entered the service October 1, 1943 and has been stationed at Camp Peary, Va. He attended school here and was employed as a fireman on the Santa Fe railroad before entering the navy. GILBERT, PFC. FOSTER N., 22, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gilbert and PFC. HAROLD W. GILBERT, 22, is his cousin. who made his home here with the Gilberts during the summer months since he was six years old. He is a great nephew of the Gilberts. Pvt. Gilbert was with the National Guard at the time of mobilization and has been in Italy with the 45th division. He graduated from high school here in 1938. The latter soldier volunteered for service in the army air corps November of 1942 and has been stationed at Ellington Field, Houston, Texas, Gulfport, Miss., and Liberal, Kan. He graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City in 1941. GILCREASE, PFC. JAMES E., 21, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.N. Gilcrease of Oney. He was inducted into the army February 15, 1943. He has been wounded in the Mediterranean theatre of war in Italy. He is with the 168th Infantry. GILES, S-SGT. RAY A., 20, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Will Giles of Carnegie. He entered the army July 28, 1941 and has been stationed in the Mediterranean theatre of war in the air corps. He attended school at Alden and college at Carnegie. He was attending school at the time of entering the armed services. GLENN, PVT. WITT J. is the brother of Mrs. Claud Harris of Binger. His wife and two children make their home in Carnegie. He has been stationed at Fort Sill. GLINN, R.J. is in the U.S. Naval Reserve and has been in the service since April 30. He attended Anadarko High School and was employed at the Plummer Printing Company for 8 1/2 years prior to his entering the service. Mrs. Glinn makes her home in Anadarko and is a beauty operator here. GODFREY, S-SGT DARRELL G., a Binger High School graduate, is now stationed at the basic flying school at Mercel, Calif. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Corps February 24, 1941. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Godfrey of Selina, Calif., and the nephew of Mrs. Herman Huber of Apache, Mrs. A.M. Walkup of Anadarko and Dan and Bert Goble of Cogar. GOMEZ, PVT. DAVE C., son of Mr. and Mrs. G.R. Gomez of Anadarko, entered the service May 30, 1945 and received his training at Camp Chaffee, Ark. He is now stationed at Camp Robinson, Ark. He attended school at Roach and was engaged in farming prior to his army service. Three brothers, Jim, Jack and G.C. are also in the army. GOMEZ, PVT. G.C., 18, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. G.R. Gomez of Anadarko. He was inducted into the service May 22, 1943 and took his basic training at Camp Kearn, Utah. He attended Roach School. He has been stationed at Hill Field Air Base of Ogden, Utah. GOMEZ, PFC. JIM C. and PVT. JACK C. GOMEZ are the sons of Mr. and Mrs. G.R. Gomez of Anadarko. They both attended the Roach School. Jim is now stationed with a field artillery unit in Camp Paraiso, Canal Zone. Jack volunteered with a service battery in Camp Livingston, Ga. GONZALES, VT. ANGELINE and PVT. KATHRYN GONZALES, WAC'S of Fort Cobb, have been together since their enlistment last August although they now work in different sections at Fort Sumner Army Air Field -- Angeline at Tech Supply and Kathryn at Aircraft Repair Shops -- and they have different days off. GONZALES, PFC. MARCUS, 23, stationed with the army on the west coast, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Gonzales of Fort Cobb. He volunteered in March of 1941. He attended Fort Cobb and Riverside Indian School and was outstanding as a boxer. GONZALES, PVT. RUDY W., 18, is the son of Mrs. Lillie Noland of Anadarko. He entered the service March 25, 1945 and took his basic training at Camp Robinson, Ark. He attended school at Anadarko and St. Patrick's Mission. His brother, Lt. Phillip Ray Gonzales, is stationed with the army air force at Boise, Idaho. GOODFELLOW, 2nd LT. JAMES W., formerly of Tishomingo, Okla., has been promoted to first lieutenant at Selman Field, Monroe, La., where he is an instructor in the army forces instructor's school (navigator). The lieutenant is a graduate of Oklahoma A&M college, Stillwater and received his navigation training at the Hondo Army Air Field, Hondo, Texas. Prior to entering the service, Lieutenant Goodfellow was teaching vocational agriculture at Tishomingo, Okla. He is the son of Mrs. Gertrude Goodfellow of Anadarko. GOODWIN, jr., LT. CHARLES F. is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Charles F. Goodwin sr. of Anadarko. He has been training at a Pampa, Texas flying school. Before receiving actual assignment he will receive additional instruction at a post-graduuated flying school in the types of bombing and fighting planes he'll use later on. He graduated from one of the AAF Gulf Training Center's 10 advanced flying schools. GORDON, PVT. THOMAS H., 26, S1c ALVA N. GORDON, USNR, 22 and PVT. WALLACE GORDON, 18, are the sons of Mr. and Mrs. H.N. Gordon of Anadarko. Thomas entered the service December 19, 1944 and is stationed at Camp Fannin, Texas. He is married and his wife and their two children make their home at Lookeba. Alva entered the service May 20, 1943 and received his basic training at San Diego, Calif. He is now stationed somewhere in the South Pacific, having been overseas since February 8, 1944. Wallace entered the service February 19, 1945 and is stationed at Camp Fannin, Texas. All three of the Gordon's sons attended school at Cliff Dale and Lookeba. GRAHAM, SGT. ARTHUR L. 'Barney', is the son of Mrs. Emma Graham and brother of Wren Graham and Mrs. G.R. Landes of Anadarko. Graham was inducted in 1943 and received his basic training in Illinois and Camp Claiborne, La. He was sent overseas in 1944 and has been stationed in North Africa and southern France. Sgt. Graham is a graduate of Tulsa High School and Cameron college. GRANGER, LT. (JC) DONALD C. and CPL. WILL V. GRANGER, are the sons of Mr. and Mrs. William Granger of Gracemont. Donald, 24, has been stationed in San Diego, Calif. He graduated from Gracemont High School in 1935 and attended Southwestern Oklahoma University in Weatherford two years before graduating from a denistry school in June 1942. He entered the U.S. Naval service in November of 1942. His wife is with him. Cpl. Will, 27, attended Anadarko Business College for three years. Prior to entering the service he was a cashier at the First National Bank at Gracemont. Since October of 1942 he has been stationed with the quartermaster corps in England. GREEN, PFC. BILLY A. is the son of Mr. and Mrs. F.T. Green of Binger. He is 25 years old. He attended school at Allison, Texas and was a farmer at the time of his induction. He has been at Camp Carson, Colo. He is married and his wife makes her home at Wheeler, Texas. GROSECLOSE, PVT. BENNIE, 37, is with the army stationed now in Camp Roberts, Calif. He attended county schools and entered the service in March of 1942. Brothers living in and around Anadarko are Farris, Floyd, Howard, Paul and Carl. His sisters are Mrs. Maggie Nelson of Anadarko, Mrs. Bessie Davison of Chickasha, Mrs. Nellie Nelson of Ninnekah and Mrs. Carrie Progress of Tulsa. GROVES, PVT. ELVY, 21, is the son of W.G. Groves of Hondo, Texas. Prior to his induction October 3, 1942, he worked here at Hammert's Grocery and attended school here. He is married to the former Margaret Rogers. GUISINGER, DELBERT CHARLES, 20, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C.M. Guisinger of Washita. He won his wings and a commission as ensign in the U.S. Naval Reserve, following completion of the prescribed flight training course at the Naval Air Station at Lakehurst, N.J., the navy's famous lighter-than-air base. Prior to reporting for training at Lakehurst, he attended Cameron College in Lawton where he participated in tennis and basketball. He also served with the CMTC. His pre-flight work was with the Wiley Post Tornado squadron at Athens, Ga. Immediately after being commissioned he was presented with his designation as a naval aviator (airship) by Captain W.E. Zimmerman, commanding officer at Lakehurst and was ordered to active flight duty. GUSTIN, TECH. SGT. DOYLE, 22, S-SGT. DEAN GUSTIN, 28, and CPL. LOYD GUSTIN, are the sons of Mr. and Mrs. H.W. Gustin of Apache. Doyle enlisted November 22, 1938 and has been stationed at Camp Forrest, Tenn. His wife is the former Lois Kensey and is with her parents at Muskogee. He attended school at Broxton. Dean enlisted in the army May 25, 1935 and has been stationed at Fort Sill in Lawton. He is married and his wife and son are making their home with him. Loyd entered the service at Fort Leavenworth, Kan. February 9, 1943. He is married and has attended the medical department enlisted technicians school at Springfield, Mo. He is a graduate of Broxton High School.
