FRED D., son of Mr. and Mrs. W.M. Farmer of Fort Cobb is 18 years of age and was engaged in farming before entering the army March 7, 1943. He attended school at Albert. He has been stationed in Camp Chaffee, Ark. FEARING, S1c LEWIS G., 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. I.F. Fearing of Anadarko enlisted in the navy February 1945 and received his boot training at San Diego, Calif. He graduated from aerographer school at Lakehurst, N.J., and is now stationed at the naval air staion at Corpus Christi, Texas. Fearing is a graduate of the Anadarko High School and prior to his navy service was a student at the University of Oklahoma, Norman. FERGUSON, PFC. CARROL O. (Bill), 27, is the son of Mrs. Rosa M. Ferguson of Anadarko. He was inducted into the service February 10, 1943 and received his basic training at Sheppard Field, Texas. He studied sheet metal, welding, electricity and blue print subjects at the Curtis Wright Technical Institute in Glendale, Calif. He has been stationed at Camp Curry, Kearns, Utah; Seymour Johnson Field, N.C., and Camp Kilmer, N.J. He was sent to England in December of 1943. He is married to the former Miss Marjorie Stewart and she, with their son, Raymond, makes her home here with his mother. FERRELL, DEALIS A., 22, coxswain's mate A.A., and DALTON H. FERRELL, 21, cook, 3c, are the sons of Mr. and Mrs. M.A. Ferrell, of Apache. Dealis Ferrell's wife, Mrs. Jayne Ferrell, makes her home in Sapulpa. He entered the service November 2, 1942 and received his boot training at San Diego, Calif. He attended a gunner's school in San Francisco, Calif., and is stationed aboard the Cruiser USS Minneapolis. He has been awarded the Silver Star and has seen action on Guam, Philippines, Marianas and Iwo Jima. He was in the states in June on a 12 day leave. He was employed with the El Paso Natural Gas Co. before entering the service. Dalton Ferrell entered the navy September 17, 1943. He has been overseas for the past 15 months and participated in the invasion of Guam, Marianas, Leyte and the Philippines. He is stationed aboard the destroyer USS Ammen. He was employed in the Cement oil field before entering the service. Both boys atended school in Stecker and Cliff. N.M. FERRIS, PVT.RAYMOND E., 19, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Ferris of Anadarko. He entered the service January 16, 1945 and was stationed with the infantry at Camp Wolters, Texas. Previous to his army service, Private Ferris was a farmer. He attended school in Verden. FIELDEN, CPL. ROBERT, 22, is the son of R.L. Fielden of Fort Cobb. He enlisted in the army October 4, 1941 as a mechanic in the air corps. He has been in England. He graduated from Fort Cobb High School. FILIPPO, PFC. ANNES is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Joe Filippo of Fort Cobb. He volunteered into the army air corps November 24, 1942. He has attended cook school at Sheppard Field, Texas. FILIPPO, CPL. JOHNNIE is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Joe Filippo of Fort Cobb. He enlisted with the U.S. Army in February 1941 and is now stationed with the 45th Division. FINLEY, JACK jr., U.S.N., 18, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Finley, former residents of Anadarko. He entered the service in 1945 and received his boot training at San Diego, Calif. He is now stationed at New Orleans, La. Finley attended Anadarko schools. FINLEY, SGT. MERL A., is the son of Mrs. Esther Finley of Anadarko. He has been stationed with Battery B, 158th F.A., at Fort Devens, Mass. He graduated from Anadarko High School in 1936 and took an active part in basketball and football. He has been in the army since the mobilization of the National Guard. FINNEY, CPL. PRESTON NAPOLEON, 23, is the son of Mrs. Lon Reeder of Binger. He has been stationed at Sheppard Field, Texas. He attended Binger Schools. He was employed in California prior to his enlistment September 1941. FITTS, SGT. ROBERT B. is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Fitts of Anadarko. He graduated from Anadarko High School in 1940 and entered the servce of the regular army with the mobiization of the National Guard in the fall of 1940. He is a machine gun sergeant now stationed with the 45th division. He is married. FLEETING, LAWRENCE, S2-c, USN, 19, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Fleeting, former residents of Albert, now living in Orange, Calif. He enlisted in the navy July 7, 1943 and has been stationed somewhere in the South Pacific. He attended school at Binger and two years of high school in Albert. He graduated from the Orange California High School two weeks before he enlisted in the navy. He is the grandson of Mrs. Nannie Fleeting of Fort Cobb. FLETCHER, PVT. ALBERT L., is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Fletcher of Verden. He entered the armed service in April of 1944, receiving his basic training at Camp Hood, Texas, where he was stationed for nine months, after which he was sent overseas. He was with the 7th army in Germany. Fletcher attended schools at Gracemont and was employed at the Stephens Brothers Dairy before entering the service. Fletcher has been wounded since being sent overseas and has received the Purple Heart Award. His wife and two-year-old son live in Anadarko. FLETCHER, SGT. JAMES E., 30, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. A.H. Fletcher of Gracemont. He entered the service October 29, 1943 and received his basic radio training at Fort Sill. After completing his training he was transferred to the field artillery school, also at Fort Sill. There he studied advanced radio for 10 weeks. He is now stationed at Camp Forrest, Tenn., assigned to the signal corps. Prior to entering the service, Sgt. Fletcher was manager of Radio Station KAND, Corsicana, Texas. His wife, the former Miss Helen Jean Feaster, also of Gracemont, is now making her home in Hollywood, Calif. FLETCHER, S1c RAY ALVIN, 19, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Fletcher of Anadarko. He has been in the navy since December 20, 1944 and received his training at Camp Perry, Va. He is now stationed in the Philippine Islands. He attended school at Camp Creek and Pleasant View and was engaged in farming near Anadarko before going into the service. FLOOD, A.S. GENE, 19, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Flood of Fort Cobb. He entered the services of the U.S. Navy on May 25, 1941. He was first stationed at the Great Lakes Naval Training station and then stationed at the Norfolk, Va. training station. He attended Fort Cobb High School. FOWLER, CAPT. EDWARD W., 24, and LT. C.R. FOWLER, 22, are the sons of Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Fowler of Ninnekah. Capt. Fowler is a graduate of A&M college. He took his training at Quantico, Va., and for the past 20 months has been stationed in the Southwest Pacific with an amphibious tank force. He has been in the service since June 1942. Lt. Fowler is also a graduate of A&M. He went into the service June 1943 and received training at Fort Benning, Ga. He has been stationed at Camp Blanding, Fla., with the infantry. FOWLER, SGT. JOCK EDWARD, 34, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. E.L. Fowler of Verden and a brother of Mrs. John Motsenbocker of Anadarko. He enlisted in the armed forces in Dallas, Texas, April 10, 1942, and was called to active duty May 6, 1942. He went overseas February 1, 1943, and has been in the Mediterranean theatre of war the past year. His wife is making her home in Verden. He is a member of the VFW Tallent-Gassaway post No. 1015 in Anadarko. FRANCES, SECOND LT. LEWIS E., 26, known to many in Anadarko as Lewis Tingley, has been stationed at Belmont, Calif., with the field artillery. He is married and his wife, who is with him, is the former Marie McPherson. His mother, Mrs. Levi Tingley, lives in Anadarko. He enlisted June 15, 1942 and took his basic training at Camp Roberts, Calif. He was then returned to Fort Sill in Lawton where he received his commission from the field artillery school January 14, 1943. He was formerly employed in a bakery and a grocery store here. FRANKLIN, PVT. WILLIAM M., 21, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William T. Franklin of Binger. His parents received word that he was missing in action in Okinawa. He received his basic training at Camp Hood, Texas and was stationed with the infantry at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. He has been overseas since 1945 and had been in Okinawa for eight days when he was reported missing. He entered the service in 1944. FRAZIER, S-SGT. HUBERT, 36, is the son of J.R. Frazier of Anadarko. He entered the army May 1, 1942 and has been stationed at Camp Huelen, Texas. He was a mechanic prior to entering the services. His brother, Sgt. Tom Frazier, is stationed at Alliance, Neb. FREEMAN, PVT. JOHN W., 18, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Freeman of Apache. He entered the army March 12, 1945 and received his basic training at Camp Robinson, Ark. He is now stationed with the army infantry at Camp Maxie, Texas. He attended the Gracemont schools and was engaged in farming previous to etering the army. FREIE, F1c JAMES, 20, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. E.F. Freie of Anadarko. He entered the service in 1944 and received his boot training at Farratut, Iowa. He is now stationed somewhere in the South Pacific. Freie graduated from Tonkawa High School at Cyril in 1943. The former Dorothy Bibb is his wife. FRICK, TECH. JOHN W. now in Battery E, 29th Bn. Replacement Center, Fort Sill, is the son of J.L. Frick of Anadrko. He is 30 and graduated from Gracemont High School in 1929. He entered the service March 14, 1941. FRIESEN, RAY C., A-C, 20, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. P.M. Friesen. He enlisted in the army air corps February 11, 1943 and took his basic training at Sheppard Field, Texas. He received his silver wings at Kingman Field, Ariz., and took advanced training as a cadet at Murfreesboro, Tenn, where he was classed as a pilot after five and one half months of training. He has been transferred from Nashville, Tenn. to Marianna, Fla., where he is training in the aviation training school. He is a graduate of the Anadarko High School with the class of 1942. FRYE, ELSTER RAY, 2-c seaman, is 18 years old and enlisted January 6, 1943. He took boot training at San Diego and is now in radio school in Los Angeles. He attended school in Anadarko. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C.G. Frye of Anadarko. FULLERTON, S2-C LLOYD DEAN, USN, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Fullerton. He entered the navy January 12, 1944 and received his boot traning at San Diego, Caif. He has been attending a radio school at College Station, Texas since fnishing basic training. He attended school at Stecker and was employed at the Douglas plant in Dumas, Texas, prior to entering the service. FUNK, GUY O., CPO (Sp) USN, enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1942 and took his basic training at Norfolk, Va. He was transferred to the Great Lakes naval training station at Chicago, Ill., where he was the commanding officer of the first recruit training company to win the 'Hall of Fame' honors for continued excellence at the naval training station there. Chief Funk was principal and coach at Stecker for seven years and prior to enlistment was an implement dealer and farmer at Anadarko. He is now stationed in Hawaii.
