VERNIE M. is the son of Mr. and Mrs. M.M. Bailess of Anadarko, was recently stationed at Fort Devins, Mass., and formerly with the 45th division at Fort Sill and Camp Barkeley, Texas. He is a graduate of Anadarko High School. BAILEY, PFC. LAWRENCE L., is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Bailey. He enlisted in the army air corps in December 1942 and has been at Trauz Field In Madison, Wis. He attended an advance radio school taking a preradar course. He graduated from high school at Apache and attended Cameron in Lawton for one semester. Before entering the army he was employed at the Western Union office in Lawton. BAKER, PFC. JACK, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Baker of Anadarko. He entered the army in 1944 and received his training at El Paso and Camp Shelby, Miss. He has been stationed in Honolulu since 1945. BALLARD, PFC. IVAN, 24, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Ballard of Anadarko. He was inducted into the army April 15, 1940 and received his basic training at Fort Nimerosod and was engaged in farming at the time of entering the service. He attended school at LaCrosse. BARE, PFC. OSCAR L., 27, entered the service Oct. 19, 1942 and has been stationed at Brunswick, N.J. He is the brother of Mrs. C.A. Catlin of Gracemont. He attended school at Britton and farmed before entering the U.S. Army. BARKLEY, PFC. JASPER RAY and PFC. ORVILLE H. BARKLEY are the sons of the late Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Barkley of Carnegie. Pfc. Jasper, 26, was recently stationed at Camp Bowie, Texas, and is now somewhere in the Atlantic war zone. Pfc. Orville, 22, is now stationed at Camp Bowie. The boys are nephews of Mrs. T.B. Childress and Mrs. Etta Skelton of Binger. BARNES, S1c MELVIN O., is the son of Mrs. La Rue Henderson of Anadarko. He entered service on May 27, 1943 and received his basic training at San Diego, Calif. He is now somewhere in the Southwest Pacific. Barnes attended school in Verden and Anadarko. BARNEY, PFC. CHARLES, 22, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Barney of Washita. He entered the service June, 1943 and took his basic training at Sheppard Field, Texas. He completed courses this week at Chanute Field, Ill. He graduated from Washita high school and also attended the junior college at Carnegie. He is married to the former Miss Doris Hall of Carnegie, who now makes her home in El Reno. BARR, PVT. JAMES T., 28, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. E.L. Barr of Anadarko. He graduated from Stecker high school and entered the service, July 1943. He has been stationed at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Ind., in the finance division. His wife makes her home near his station at Indianapolis. BARR, CPL. LAWRENCE, 23, and PVT. KENNETH BARR, 20, are the sons of Mrs. Anna Scott of Carnegie. Corporal Barr was inducted into the services in September, 1942, and received his training at Camp Cook, Calif.; Nashville, Tenn.; and Pine Camp, N.Y. He studied radio at Fort Knox, Ky., and received the rating of corporal there. Private Barr was inducted into the service February 15, 1943, and took his basic training in Mississippi. He completed a mechanics course at the Mississippi camp and has been stationed at Fort Jackson, N.C., with the quartermaster corps. They both attended high school at Carnegie. BARRETT, CPL. CHARLES H. is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Barrett of Anadarko. He entered the army February 11, 1943 and graduated from the technicians school of Fitzsimmons General hospital at Denver, Colo., August 1, 1943. He has been stationed at a station hospital somewhere in India since September 1, 1943. He graduated from the Anadarko high school in 1942 and was working in the Safeway store before entering the army. BARTLERR, PFC. WILLIAM E., of the U.S. army air forces, Biggs Field, Texas, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John D. Brumlett of Fort Cobb. He was inducted into the army January 18, 1943. He is married and his wife makes her home with him at El Paso, Texas. BARTOSOVOSKY, SGT. JOHN W., is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bartosovosky of Apache. He entered the service April 2, 1942. He has completed the medical course at El Paso, Texas and was stationed in North Carolina. He is 35 and single. He attended school at Broxton before entering the army. He was employed as a farmer. He is now a prisoner in the Japanese Philippine Military Prison Camp #1. BASCUS, PFC. RICHARD is the son of Mrs. Lorene Bascus of Anadarko. He attended school in Anadarko where he took an active part in athletics and also attended Cameron College. He entered the service in June 1942 and he is now in foreign service. He is married and his wife is making her home in Hominy. BATES, GM 2c VIRGIL, USN, 22, is the son of George Bates of Anadarko. He graduated from Anadarko High School, where he was active in football, basketball, baseball and track. He received his basic training at the Great Lakes Naval Training Station in Chicago, Ill., volunteering into the service in July 1942. Bates has been stationed in North Africa and somewhere in the Pacific. BAUGH, JR., S 2-c USN A.C., 19, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Baugh of Anadarko. He attended school here where he was active in football and basketball. He is attending gunnery school at San Diego, Calif., volunteering into the services January 25, 1943. BAUGH, S2c GENE, 18, entered the navy in Dec. 1944. He received his boot training at Great Lakes, Ill., and was sent to Shoemaer, Calif. He is now stationed at Treasure Island, Calif, assigned to small craft. His mother, Mrs. A.C. Baugh, is of Anadarko. He has a brother who is a gunner in the navy. BAUMAN, JAMES, 18, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clark Bauman. He is a water safety instructor in the seabees and he is stationed at Davisville, R.I., at camp Endiscott. He enlisted in the navy July 18, 1942, leaving for Camp Peary, Williamsburg, Va., July 22 for his basic training. He received advanced training at Camp Endicott. He is a graduate of Anadarko High School with the class of 1943, where he was active in football and athletics. BAXTER, CARL D., is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Baxter of Fort Cobb. He enlisted April 8, 1942 as a machinists mate, first class, U.S. Navy construction battalion. He received training at Great Lakes, Ill., Temple, Pa., Norfolk, Va., and San Francisco, Calif., before he left for overseas duty in July. He served for five or six months on Guadalcanal, then was sent to a rest camp for about a month. He is back in action again in the Pacific area. His wife is a teacher at Fort Cobb High School. BAXTER, AOM 3-c DONALD L., U.S. Navy, enlisted April 8, 1941 and was sent to the naval air station at San Diego, Calif. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Baxter of Fort Cobb. He is a member of the naval boxing team. He was married in October 1942. BEACH, PFC. R.L., 23, CPL. BERT BEACH, 24, and CPL. HESTELL BEACH, 21, are the sons of Mr. and Mrs. P.A. Beach of Gracemont. Cpl. Bert and Cpl. Hestell are both stationed at Fort Ord, Calif. They entered the service in February of 1941. Pfc. R.L. entered the service in October of 1940 and has been stationed at Camp Barkeley, Texas. They all attended school in Mountain View and Gracemont. BEALL, S2-c USN MARVIN, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. H.C. Beall of Fort Cobb. He volunteered into the service of the navy in October 1942. He attended Fort Cobb school and has been stationed at Detroit, Mich., where he was attending electrical school. BEARD, PFC. MELVIN O. is the son of Mrs. Kate O. Beard of Apache. Beard entered service March 3, 1943 and received his training at Fort Bragg, N.C. He is 21 years of age and was born in Anadarko. BEARDSLEY, CHARLES R., 40, LEVI C. BEARDSLEY, 30 and ROBERT KENNETH BEARDSLEY, are the sons of Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Beardsley of Gracemont. Charles R. attended Anadarko High School and was working with a Colorado lumber firm at the time of his induction. He is now somewhere in Africa. Levi C. graduated from Anadarko High School and attended business college here. He worked in the Gracemont Post Office and gin and is also now in North Africa. Robert Kenneth graduated from Gracemont High School and was employed at the Cyril refinery at the time of his induction. He is now serving with the United States Navy in the Pacific. BEASLEY, PFC. ROBERT IRVIN is the son of Mr. and Mrs. T.I. Beasley of Oklahoma City and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. C.B. Cook of Anadarko. He attended schools in Oklahoma City, spending all of his vacations in Caddo County. He joined the air force in January 1941 and has been stationed somewhere in England. BEAVERS, FIRST SGT. HOWARD M., is in the medical department of the U.S. Army in Ogden, Utah. He enlisted in Gracemont in October of 1939. He attended high school in Anadarko and has a brother Jess Beavers of Gracemont. BEDOKA, SGT. JOSEPH, 35, CPL. HARVEY J. BEDOKA, 33, and CPL. WILLIAM T. BEDOKA, 31, are brothers of Maurice Bedoka, Sadie Bedoka and Mrs. Clara Exendine. Joe is a bombardier at McDill Field, Fla., and was inducted into the service in June 1942. Harvey volunteered for service before the bombing of Pearl Harbor in December of 1941 and is attached to the medical division of the air corps on Catalina Island, Calif. William, the youngest of the three, was inducted into the service October 1942 and is a radio technician with the air corps. All three men attended Anadarko Public Schools. CHARLES this week began specialized transition training in B-17 (Flying Fortress) bombers at Hendricks field, Sebring, Fla., after graduation and comissioning at the army air base, Lubbock, Texas, July 29. Son of Mr. and Mrs. C.F. Beecham, Anadarko residents now living in Tulsa where Beecham is with Douglas Aircraft, the lieutenant entered service June 19, 1942, as a glider pilot. He was transferred to the regular air corps and was trained at Randolph Field, Kelly Field, Bonham and Denison, Texas, and then to Lubbock. A graduate of Anadarko High School, Beecham was employed at Youngheim's prior to his enlistment. BEETS, PVT. ARIE L., 21, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Beets of Gracemont. He entered the armed services Aug. 18, 1942. He has been stationed in Fairmount, Neb., as a air base guard. He attended school in Washita. BEETS, SGT. MARION E. and PVT. FRANK B. EDWARDS-- Sgt. Marion E. Beets, 20, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Beets of Anadarko, and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. F.B. Edwards. He enlisted in the armed forces, July 7, 1942, and was stationed at Fort Sill for five months. He was sent from there to Camp Butner, N.C. and is now stationed at Camp Young, Calif. Pvt. Frank Edwards is the son of Mr. and Mrs. F.B. Edwards and was inducted into the army in Oct. 1942. He went from Fort Sill to Camp Wolters, Texas, for training and was sent from there to San Francisco Calif., where he embarked for Ausralia, arriving in Feb. 1943. He was last heard from in May, 1943. Beets, Marion E. 11 Aug 1920 20 Nov 1995 buried Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko BELL, CAPT. DON, T-SGT. ARCHIE BELL, CPL. BILLY S. BELL and CPL. TED O. BELL, four sons of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Bell of Anadarko, who are in the service are Capt. Don Bell, 25; T-Sgt. Archie Bell, 23; Cp. Td O. Bell, 22; and Cpl. Billy S. Bell, 20. Don Bell entered the service when the national guard was mobilized as the 45th division and was transferred in January to the paratroopers, taking his training at Camp Mackall, N.C. His wife and baby make their home here. Billy S. Bell enered the service Jan. 25, 1943 and is going to a bomber school in Ypsilanti, Mich. Ted Bell entered the service in Sept. 1942, and is stationed at Camp Gordon, Ga. Archie Bell enlisted in Dec. 1941, before Pearl Harbor was attacked and is an instructor at Lincoln air base. BELL, PVT. LONNIE L., 29, entered the army in 1944 and received his training at Camp Barkeley, Texas. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Bell of Anadarko. He is currently stationed with the army medical corps in southern France and has been there since 1945. He attended the Washita schools. CLETUS LAWSON is the son of Mr. and Mrs. M. Biggerstaff of Anadarko. Entering the air force in April 1943, he has been stationed at Amarillo army air field for three months for air crew training in the army air force. Following his graduation from Anadarko high school in 1943, he was associated with his father in business. Completing his academic work at the Amarillo army air field he will be sent to pre-flight, primary, basic and advanced flying schools where he will round out his air crew training. BILYEU, F1-C MART, USN, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Bilyeu of Gracemont. He entered service Feb. 14, 1943 and was spent to San Diego, Calif. for his boot training. He spent 10 months n the Aleutian islands. BIRDSONG, S2-c, USN, DONALD WAYNE, 17, is the son of Mrs. Jim Plunkett of Apache. He entered the navy January 5, 1944 and received his boot training at San Diego, Calif. He has been attending a radio school at the University of Chicago in Chicago, Ill. BIRGE, T-SGT. ARLES L. is the son of Mr. and Mrs. G.W. Birge of Lookeba. He attended Eakly school and was engaged in farming before going into the service. He has been in the army since July 22, 1942 and has served for the past few months in the European theatre of war. He wears one battle star, a good conduct medal and the Combat Infantry medal. He was home on a 30-day furlough from June 30 to July 30 when he reported to Camp Chaffee, Ark., for reassignment. BIVENS, CPL. R.E. (Dink), 24, and PVT. FRED REECE, 26, are brothers-in-law in the army. Corporal Bivens is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Bivens of Verden and his wife, the former Miss Minnie Murphy, is making her home near his station at Camp Roberts, Calif. Private Reece is serving with the armed forces somewhere in Italy. His wife and son Bobby are making their home in the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Bivens. He attended school at Gracemont and his parents live northwest of Verden. BLACKBURN, SGT. VERNON, 24, enlisted in the army Sept. 1940. He has been stationed at Fort Sill. His wife makes her home in Anadarko where she is a beauty operator. He attended Binger schools and before entering service was engaged in farming. Sgt. Blackburn is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Grover Blackburn of racemont. Blakley, William F. - 22 Sep 1911 - 05 Feb 1945 Ok Sgt 112 Inf 28 Inf Div buried in Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko BLOOD, PVT. ELMER D., is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter H. Blood of Binger. He entered the service in September 1942 and has been stationed at Camp Howze, Texas. He is 21 and is married to the former Margaret Opitz of Lookeba. BLUE (?), CPL. T. NOEL is the son of H.A. Buie (?) of Hydro. He entered the army Oct. 19, 1942. He was employed as a farmer before entering the army. He has been stationed at Fort Knox, Ky. BLUE, PVT. VERNON H., 20, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roma Blue of Gracemont. He entered the armed service May 1943 and received his basic training at Camp Crowder, Mo. At the time of his induction he was working in Chicago, Ill., where he graduated from Coyne Electric School. He also attended Star and Gracemont Schools. He has been stationed somewhere in England with the 32nd Signal Corps Battalion. BOLTON, PFC. DWIAN, 22, WAC PFC. LIZZIE MAE HANKINS, 31, and S- SGT. BON BOLTON, 29, are the sons and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.M. Bolton, former Anadarko residents now living in Jacksonville, Fla. Pvt. Dwian Bolton entered the armed forces Oct. 1943. He has been in foreign service for the past year. WAC Private Hankins enlisted in the WAC's July 1943. She was employed as a nurse at Bowie, Texas before going into the service. Staff Sergeant Bolton was employed in Jacksonville, Fla., before going into the service. He has been stationed at Moore Field, Mission, Texas. They all attended school at Gracemont. Mrs. C.E. Hall of Verden is their sister. Bolton, Duran L. 06 Oct 1911 28 Aug 1975 Pfc. U.S. Army buried in Memory Lane Cemetery BOONE, CPL. WESLEY G. is the son of Mr. and Mrs. G.F. Boone of Anadarko. He entered the service June 1, 1942 at Albuquerque, N.M. and was first stationed at Camp Claiborne, La. He is now stationed somewhere in the Middle East. He attended Anadarko Schools and before entrance into the service was employed in Albuquerque, where his wife now makes her home. BORDEN, S1c IVY J., USNR, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Borden, Fort Cobb, recently returned from the Philippines where his ship was sunk near Mindoro, Dec. 26. His wife and baby daughter, Ivetta, live in Oakland, Calif. His brother, PFC. JOHNNIE BORDEN, was killed in action in Salerno, Italy, September 12, 1943. BORDEN, PFC. JOHNNY, 21, is the son of Mrs. Frank Borden, former resident of Fort Cobb, now living in Marlow. He entered the services with the mobilization of the national guard and served with the 45th division in Italy, where he as killed in action last October. He was born in Marlow and attended school in Fort Cobb and Apache. He was awarded the purple heart posthumously, which his mother received. Mrs. Borden has just recently moved back to Fort Cobb from Marlow. BOST, BURN, 36, SGT. JOHN BOST, 34 and VERNON J. BOST, 22, are the sons of Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Bost of Gracemont. Burn entered the service in July 1942 and was first stationed at Fort Sill Army Base in Lawton. John attended school in Gracemont and prior to his entrance into the U.S. Army in June 1942, he farmed. He is married and his wife is now making her home in San Diego, Calif. He is stationed at Camp Rooker, Ala. Vernon graduated from Gracemont High School and entered the service in Aug. 1942 and has been stationed at Fort Ord, Calif. VIRGIL MASSEY, brother of Mrs. A.M. Bost, entered the armed services with the mobilization of the National Guard and is now stationed with the 45th Division. BOST, DOYLE MORRIS, 21, radioman third class, stationed at Corpus Christi, Texas, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Bost of Gracemont. He is a graduate of Gracemont High School. His basic training was received at San Diego, Calif., and a six week course in radio in Canada. BOUNDS, SGT. JERRY C., 23, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. E.P. Bounds of Apache. He entered the service in 1944 and received his basic training in New Orleans La. He was sent to a diesel and electrical school in New York and Harrisburg, Pa. He is a graduate of Apache High School and is stationed with the army transportation corps in Germany. BOUNDS, SGT. JERRY C., 23, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. E.P. Bounds of Apache. He entered the service in 1944 and received his basic training in New Orleans La. He was sent to a diesel and electrical school in New York and Harrisburg, Pa. He is a graduate of Apache High School and is stationed with the army transportation corps in Germany. BOUNDS, PVT. PHILLIP, 31, has been in the services for four months and has been stationed at Camp Callan, Calif. He is married and his wife is now living in Phoenix, Ariz., where he was employed prior to his entering the U.S. Army. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. E.P. Bounds of Apache. He is the brother of Mrs. C.E. Stewart and Mrs. Reed Gardner of Anadarko. BOWLING, LT. LESTER entered the army in 1942 at officer candidate school and too his basic training at Fort Warren, Wyo. He graduated in December as a second lieutenant. He has been teaching in Fort Custer and is now stationed at Camp Hood, Texas. BOWLING, W.I. (Buster) of Lookeba is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Bowling. He enlisted in the 13th Training regiment at Camp Robinson, Ark., May 15, 1942. He attended grade school in the Centerville district of this county. BOYCE, MASTER SGT. LEE ROY, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. F.D. Boyce of Anadarko. He enlisted March 19, 1936 in Fort Sam Houston, Texas. He was in medical training for one year and nine months and in the Philippine islands for three years. He recently was stationed in Pomona, Calif. BRABANT, CPL. GLEN G., 26, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. H.W. Brabant of Anadarko. He attended schools in Anadarko and graduated from Anadarko High School in 1935. Following graduation he worked with his father in the cleaning business until his entrance into the army in October 1941. He is with the ordinance division and now stationed at Fort Benning, Ga. Brabant, Glenn G. 1916 1976 buried Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko BRADLEY, PVT. FLOYD O., is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.F. Bradley. He entered the service Aug. 30, 1943, and received his training at Camp Wolters, Mineral Wells, Texas and Fort Ord, Calif. He has been stationed somewhere in the Pacific. PAT, 27, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Bramlett of Anadarko. He enlisted in the army March 8, 1940 and is in the infantry. He has been sttioned at San Luis Obispo, Calif., and Fort Ord, Calif. He has served in the Hawaiian islands and n the Aleutians and Marshall islands. He attended Anadarko schools. BRANAM JR., S/SGT. ERNEST, 19, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Branam of Anadarko and his wife, is making her home there also. He entered the service at Fort Sill in Lawton Jan. 25, 1943 and has been stationed at Camp Haan, Calif. He graduated from the Anadarko High School in 1942 and besides taking a commercial course and graduated from defense sheetmetal school. BRANTLEY, PFC. LAWRENCE C., 35, son of Mr. and Mrs. N.J. Brantley of Chickasha, enlisted in the army Feb. 1, 1944, receiving his basic training at Camp Roberts, Calif. He is in the field artillery and is now stationed in England. Brantley attended school in Fort Cobb, was a minister and was engaged in farming previous to entering the service. His wife and six children make their home southwest of Verden. BRIDGES, PFC. ARTHUR S., 22, is stationed with Co A 2nd Eng. Bn., Fort Sam Houston, Texas. He volunteered into the U.S. Army Oct. 31, 1940 and has attended the signal school in Texas. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Will Bridges of Anadarko. He attended school in Texas and lived in Anadarko a year before entering the service. BROCK, S-SGT. JAMES A. is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Brock of Ninnekah and is a graduate of Anadarko high school with the class of 1940. He mobilized with the 45th division and is now stationed in the North Africa theatre. BROOKS, PVT. RAY, is the son of John Kelly Brooks and the grandson of Mrs. Martelia Nation, both of Anadarko. He attended schools in Anadarko and entered the service Sept. 23, 1942 from California where he was working in defense work. He was first stationed at Fort Robinson, Ark., and has recently been stationed at Camp Carson, Colo. BROOKS, PVT. RAY, is the son of John Kelly Brooks and the grandson of Mrs. Martelia Nation, both of Anadarko. He attended schools in Anadarko and entered the service Sept. 23, 1942 from California where he was working in defense work. He was first stationed at Fort Robinson, Ark., and has recently been stationed at Camp Carson, Colo. BROOKS, CAPT. RAYMOND, 33, son of Mrs. S.A. Brooks was with the national guard. He was with the 45th division and received the rank of captain of Fort Devens, Mass. He is stationed at Camp Ellis, Va., in charge of a regiment. BROOKS, ROBERT, was enlisted in the Seabees in Feb. 1942. He received his basic training in Norfolk, Va., and is stationed somewhere in the South Pacific in 1942. BROOKS, 2 LT. ROLAND, MM1c, 27, youngest of three sons to Mrs. S.A. Brooks, enlisted in the army air corps. Brooks took pre- flight training at Randolph Field, San Antonio, primary training at W. and B. flying school at Chickasha and basic training at Winfield, Kan. He was commissioned second lieutenant at the Altus army air base and was transferred back to Randolph Field for special training. He is stationed in Altus. Army Air Force buried Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko BROWN, S.M. 2c DONALD A., 20, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Brown of Gracemont. He graduated from Gracemont High School in 1943 and entered the U.S. Maritime service Aug. 9, 1943. He has been stationed in Brooklyn, N.Y. He has one brother, Dorsey D. Brown also in the U.S. Navy, stationed at Farragut, Idaho. BROWN, PC2c (Yeoman) DORSEY D., USN, 25, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Brown of Gracemont, went into service on Sept. 14, 1943. He received his training at the U.S. naval training station at Farragut, Ida., and now stationed at the naval air station at Whidbey Island, Oak Harbor, Wash. Brown attended schools at Gracemont, graduating from the high school there in 1939. He served two years as company clerk at CCC Company 2813, Sentinel and company 884, Rush Springs, prevous to going into service. BROWN, SECOND LT. ELTON D., 22, is now stationed with the U.S. Army Air Corps in Australia. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. R.L. Brown of Apache. BROWN, SGT. JOHN, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. B.H. Brown. He attended Lincoln High School and enlisted in the regular army service seven years ago. He is now stationed with the colored detachment of the 18th Field Artillery at Fort Sill in Lawton. BROWN, SIGNAL MATE 2c JOHN M., 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence L. Brown of Gracemont, entered service in June, 1942, receiving his boot training at Treasure Island. He is now somewhere in the Pacific. Brown attended school at Gracemont. BROWNEN, jr., PVT. C.R., is with the U.S. Military Police company at Camp Crowder, Mo. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C.R. Brownen of Gracemont. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on July 17, 1941 at Fort Sill in Lawton. He has been stationed at Camp Wolters; Fort Smelling, Minn, and then to Missouri. He attended and graduated from Gracemont High School. BRUCE, PVT. C.L., 18, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. O. Bruce of Fort Cobb. He attended school at Fort Cobb and entered the service April 24, 1942. He has been stationed with the California State Guards. BRYSON, S2c GLEN E. and PVT. FRANK BRYSON, are the sons of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Bryson, former residents of Albert. Glen was inducted into the navy in 1944 and received his training at Farragut, Idaho and San Diego, Calif. He is a member of the armed guard and is stationed somewhere in the Pacific. Frank was inducted into the army in 1944 and took his basic training at Camp Roberts, Calif. He is in the infantry and is stationed in the Pacific. BRYSON, CADET HARLAN G. is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Troy Bryson of Oklahoma City, former residents of Oney. He has finished the first term of engineering in the army specialized training program at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, Neb. He is a graduate of Orange, Calif., high school and attended school at Oney, where he was active in basketball, softball and baseball. His parents are working in a defense plant. Buchanan, Ted 19 Sep 1919 14 Feb 1968 Pfc U.S. Army buried Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko BULLOCK, PFC. PAUL, is the son of Mrs. Minnie Bullock of Anadarko. He entered the army in 1941 and was trained at Camp Barkeley, Texas and is now serving with the 90th division in the army of occupation in Germany. Bullock attended Eastern Oklahoma. BURDITT, H. ALTON, 25, is the son of Mrs. Edna Burditt of Anadarko. He entered the army air force Aug. 5, 1942. He attended Anadarko Schools and before entering the service was connected with the Texas Company here. He is now stationed at Carlisle, Penn. His wife is with him. Burgwin, Walter D. 21 Aug 1909 15 Aug 1944 Ok M.Sgt. U.S. Army buried Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko BURK, PVT. OTIS S., 28, has been stationed in the Hawaiian Islands. He entered the service Oct. 20, 1942, after attending Camp Creek school. He is married and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C.R. Burk of Gracemont. Burks, Herman Robert 03 Sep 1916 18 Mar 1988 Sgt. U.S. Marine Corp. buried in Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko BURKHEAD, PVT. RALPH L., was killed in action at Hatten France, January 9, 1945 at the age of 18. He was an infantryman in the Rainbow division. The body had been buried in the U.S. military cemetery at St. Avold, France. Reburial was in the Apache Fairview cemetery. Burkhead was born near Apache, March 15, 1926 and lived in the Apache community until entering the service. He was a member of the Baptist church. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jess Burkhead. BURNS, SGT. HASKELL, 22, is the son of Mrs. Etta Burns of Anadarko. He volunteered for service in the National Guard in 1940. He has been stationed with the 45th division. BURNS, SGT. ROBERT W., is the son of Mr. and Mrs. R.A. Burns of Cement. He enlisted in the army in July 1940. He finished his training in the air corps at Kelly Field, San Antonio, Texas, Feb. 1, 1941 and has been stationed at Lake Charles, La. He attended Cement School until he enlisted in the army. He is 20 years old. BUTLER, CM3c BENNY, Seabee, 19, and BAKER, 3c BUCKY SEYMORE 20, are the sons of Mrs. Lotsee Butler of Anadarko. Butler has been in the service for two years, receiving his basic training at Camp Perry, Va. Seymore has been in service for two years and six months, receiving his boot training at San Diego. He is now in the South Pacific. Another brother, PVT. GEORGE GALINDO, 24, was in Germany, leaving last August for overseas duty. He has been in the army for six years and was stationed at Fort Sill previous to going overseas. All three attended schools at Washita.
