HARRISON C. - is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harrison B. Portanof Anadarko. He has been stationed at Sheppard Field, Wichita Falls,Texas. ADAMS, PVT. D.W., 19, and PFC. LEONARD M. ADAMS, 23, are the sons of Mr.and Mrs. D.W. Adams sr. of Anadarko. Both boys attended the FairviewSchool. D.W. entered the service of the air corps Dec. 7, 1942 and hasbeen stationed at Sheppard Field, Texas. Leonard entered the service in March 1940 and was in the Philippines October 1941. ADAMS, CORP. FRED C. - is the son of Mr. and Mrs. D.W. Adams ofCarnegie. He enlisted in the U.S. Army at Fort Sill Army Base in LawtonFeb. 5, 1941. He is in the 18th FA Headquarters at Fort Sill. His brother, Leonard Adams, has been reported missing in the Philippines. He is the nephew of Mrs. J.L. Queen of Carnegie. ADAMS, PVT. HAROLD - 19, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jess Adams of Fort Cobb and a brother of Mrs. Bill Rife of Anadarko. He entered the army Sept. 22, 1943 and has been stationed at Camp Roberts, Calif. He attended high school at Fort Cobb. He has three brothers in the service in Italy, PVT. MARION ADAMS and PFC. PRESTON ADAMS, and LESTER ADAMS is receiving training in the navy at Corpus Christi, Texas. ADAMS, PFC. LEONARD M. - is the son of Mr. and Mrs. D.W. Adams sr., of Anadarko. He has been released from the Japanese Toyama prison camp Number 7 in the Nagoya district. Adams entered the service in 1940 and has a brother, D.W. Adams, who is also in the service. ADAMS, PVT. MARVIN, 29, PFC. PRESTON ADAMS, 27, and LESTER ADAMS, 20, are the sons of Mr. and Mrs. Jess Adams of Fort Cobb. All three boys attended school in Fort Cobb and all are single. Marvin enlisted August 1942 in Dallas, Texas and is now stationed at Camp Polk, La. Preston enlisted January 1940 at Fort Lewis, Wash., and is now in North Africa. Lester enlisted in the U.S. Navy on Oct. 1, 1942 and is now stationed at Corpus Christi, Texas. ADAMS, S-SGT PRESTON - enlisted in the U.S. Army Jan 11, 1941. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jess M. Adams of Fort Cobb. He was born May 11, 1915 and died Feb 20, 1944 in action in Italy. ADKINS, CARL L. - 25, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Adkins of Carnegie. He received his training in California, Indiana, Tennessee and North Carolina. He has been stationed in England. ADKINS, SGT. ROBERT FRED - is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Adkins of Anadarko. He graduated from Sentinel High School and attended Southwestern Oklahoma University in Weatherford for two years and attended one year at Oklahoma University in Norman in the school of business. He was inducted into the air corps in July 1942 and received his basic training at Sheppard Field, Texas. He attended a radio school at Madison, Wis., and received instructions in radar at Boca Raton, Fla. He has been stationed in England. AHAITTY, ARTHUR - 1925 - 1975 Pfc. U.S Marine Corp buried in Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko AHTONE, S1C R.C., 28, PVT. QUANNAH P. AHTONE, 22, and PFC. WILLIAM C. AHTONE, 27, are the sons of Mr. and Mrs. James Ahtone, route four, Anadarko. Seaman Ahtone entered the service on September 5, 1942, and received his boot training at Norman Naval Base. He is now serving somewhere in the South Pacific. He attended school in Broxton. Private Ahtone entered the army on November 8, 1944 and received his basic training at Fort McClellan, Ala. At the present he is stationed at Camp Edwards, Miss. He attended school at the St. Patrick's Mission. Private Ahtone entered the army on December 6, 1942 and was given his basic training at Camp Howze, Texas. After 10 months at Howze he was sent to Camp Claborn, La. He served with the 9th army in Germany. He attended school at St. Patrick's Mission. ALCORN, DANIEL L. - b 15 Jan 1923 d 25 Jan 1995 Pfc U.S. Army Cpl. U.S. Air Force served in both WWII and Korea buried in Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko ALDRIDGE, PVT. ROY B. - son of Mr. and Mrs. M.C. Aldridge, of Apache, entered service Jan. 16, 1945. He received his basic training in the army mule pack infantry at Camp Chaffey, Ark., and is now stationed at Fort Sill. He attended Broxton schools and was engaged in farming previous to his induction. ALEXANDER, CPL. NEIL R. - 26, is the son of Mrs. Vivian Schrameck of Lookeba. He attended the Sugar Creek and Lookeba Schools and prior to his entering the armed service in November 1942, he was employed in Oklahoma City. He has been stationed at Fort Knox, Ky., and is now overseas. He is married and his wife now makes her home with his mother. ALLDREDGE, S1c ROBERT - is the son of Mrs. C.N. Alldredge of Anadarko. He attended school in Anadarko and graduated from Washita High School in 1939. He entered the navy in 1942. ALLEN, S1c, USN, EUGENE - 19, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. G.A. Allen of Anadarko. He was inducted into the navy June 6, 1944 and took his basic training in San Diego, Calif. He served six months in the Southwest Pacific theatre of war and returned to the states in February 1945 for reassignment. He attended Fort Cobb schools and was engaged in farming at the time of enterint the service. ALLEN, jr., CM 3-c, USN, GEORGE LOUIS - 18, is the son of Mr. and Mrs.George Allen sr. of Anadarko. He volunteered for service in the seabees Aug. 30, 1943 and took his basic training at Camp Peary, Williamsburg, Va., and Gulfport, Miss. He attended school here and lettered in football. He was active in track and basketball during junior high school. He has one brother, SGT. SAM ALLEN, who has been stationed at Camp Bowie, Texas. ALLEN, MERLE - 20, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Otis Allen. He was inducted into the navy June 23, 1943 and went to San Diego, Calif. for his basic training. He studied radar at Pearl Harbor following his basic training. He was employed in the shipyards in San Francisco, Calif. at the time of entering the service. He is a graduate of Anadarko High School. ALLEN, SGT. KENNETH SAM - now stationed at the Desert Training Center in Indio, Calif. He is 21 and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Allen of Anadarko. He graduated from Anadarko High School in 1940 where he was outstanding in athletics. He entered the service Sept. 16, 1940 with the National Guard. ALLISON, PFC. ALFRED - 27, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Allison of Anadarko. He has been stationed with headquarters company in Memphis, Tenn. He attended Caddo County schools and entered the service in January 1941. ALLISON, PVT. T.T. - is now stationed in Alaska. He entered the service of the army at Fort Sill in Lawton and then was transferred to San Diego, Calif., and then to Fort Lewis, Wash. ANDERSON, PFC. CAHUM - 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Anderson, of Anadarko, entered the service October 19, 1943. He took his basic training in Camp Roberts, Calif., and he is now in combat in the Philippines. Anderson attended school in Anadarko. His wife, the former Miss Alma Lensey, and daughter make their home with her parents in Merced, Calif. He worked as a carpenter in defense work at Camp Beall, Calif., before joining the army. ANDERSON, PVT. CLARENCE E. - is the son of Mr. and Mrs. T.J. Anderson and a brother of Mrs. Roy Kelly of Anadarko. He entered the army in Sept. 1942, and has been stationed at Paine Field, Everett, Wash. Anderson is single and 38 years old. Anderson, Clarence Earl 04 Mar 1905 30 Nov 1985 buried in Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko ANDERSON, PFC. EUGENE JAMES - is the son of Dave J. Anderson of Binger, entered the service April 16, 1942. He finished high school in Binger and college at Langston. He received his eight weeks basic training at Fort McClelland, Ala. and has been stationed at Staten Island, N.Y. ANDERSON, F2c, USN, GEORGE RAY - enlisted September 8, 1942 and trained at the Diesel Engineering School at Houston, Texas and completed training in New Orleans, La. He was born Dec 16, 1921 and died Nov 6, 1943 in the South Pacific. His mother was Mrs. Laura Warner Anderson of Napa, Calif. He was from Apache, Ok. ANDERSON, RALPH - 21, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C.E. LaFon, of Anadarko. He attended Anadarko schools. He entered the services May 1942. He is now stationed in Panama as first class machinist mate. He isalso known as Ralph Young. ANDERSON, PVT. WINFARD BURNS - enlisted in the U.S. Army May 11, 1944.He received his basic training at Fort McClelland, Ala. and went overseas in November 1944. He was born Dec 2, 1920 near Carnegie to Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Anderson and died Mar 6, 1945 from wounds received in action in Germany on Mar 04, 1945. His wife, Mrs. Martha Lou Anderson, lives in Apache with thier son, Winfard jr. He attended school at Carnegie and Cashion. Anderson, Winfard B. 02 Dec 1920 06 Mar 1945 s/o T.J. & Lollie Anderson; h/o Martha Lou Hunt; f/o Winfard Jr. & Raymond buried in Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko ANDREWS, S-SGT NORMAN C. - 34, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Andrews of Binger. He entered the service May 1942 and attended an airplane mechanic school at Sheppard Field, Texas and graduated from the aerial gunnery school at Wendover Field, Utah. He is a graudate of Coleman, Okla., high school. He has been serving as a crew member on a B-24 Liberator bomber somewhere in Italy. His wife makes her home in Hendrix, Okla. ANQUOE, EVANS - Kiowa, is the 21 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. James Anquoe of Carnegie. He attended Riverside Indian School until entrance into the navy in August 1942 with his cousin, QUINTAN ANQUOE, 20, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Anquoe of Anadarko. He attended Riverside Indian School until entrance into the navy. Both boys are boxers, taking part in a great many tournaments. Both were enlistees of the CCC-ID Camp. ANQUOE, PVT. KENNETH - 21, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Anquoe of Mountain View. He attended school at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Bacone College and Cameron College in Lawton. He is married and his wife now makes her home in Tulsa. He entered the service June 3, 1942 and has been stationed with the marines at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, Calif. ARISPI, TIMOTHY - of Anadarko is now stationed at Honolulu, Hawaii with the 804th A Engineers Battalion. He is the son of Adolph Arispi and a brother of Lewis Arispi and Mrs. Lucy Urabozo, both of Anadarko. He joined the army Jan. 17, 1940. ARKEKETA, PVT. RAYMOND - 18, of Washita is now stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, with the U.S. Marine Corps. He is the son of Mrs. Emma Moses of Washita. He enlisted October 15. He attended Washita High School and was a junior at the time of his enlistment. ARKEKETA, WOODROW WYATT - 1914 - 1976 S1 U.S. Navy buried Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko ARMS, CPL. WILLIE C. and PVT. CHESTER ARMS are brothers in the army, who formerly lived in Hinton. Corporal Arms has been stationed at Camp Gruber, Okla., and Private Arms has been in Tennessee. Both are married. ARMSTRONG, LEONARD ONEAL - 31 May 1925 15 Aug 1950 Ok AOM 3 USNR buried Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko ARMSTRONG, CPL. STEPHEN A. - gunner, is the husband of Mrs. Lee Virda Armstrong of Anadarko. He is completing his training as a B-29 Super Fortress combat crewman at Biggs Field, a station of the 2nd air force near El Paso. He will soon be assigned to an overseas organization for combat mission against the Japanese. ARMSTRONG, F1c, USN, THOMAS DUANE, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. E.L. Armstrong of Bridgeport. He entered the navy July 20, 1943 and has been stationed at Port Hueneme, Calif., taking electrician training. He went to school at Bridgeport and was a Daily News carrier there in 1940-41. ARONHALT, S1c, USN, CARL S. - volunteered into the service Dec. 14, 1942. He attended Anadarko Schools and graduated in 1942. He is the brother of Mrs. L.R. Steele of Anadarko with whom he made his home. He is 20. He received his boot training at San Diego, Calif. He is stationed at Port Hueneme, Calif., in special training. ATCHELEY, PFC BILLY R. - ATHEY, CORP J.C. - enlisted Sep 16, 1940 in the U.S. Army. He had enlisted in the Oklahoma National Guard Sep 25, 1939. He served as Technician, 5th grade, in the 45th Div. He received the Order of the Purple Heart. He was born Mar 10, 1921 and died Jul 16, 1943 in Italy. He was from Apache and married to Catherine Alice Athey. ATHEY, CORP J.C. - dies from wounds. The war department notified Mrs.Catherine Alice Athey of Anadarko that her husband, J.C. Athey had died from wounds received with the 45th division in Sicily. Athey was the son of Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Athey of Anadarko and his father is section foreman for the Rock Island railroad here. The soldier was married in April 1942. Born March 10, 1921 in Chico, Texas, Athey moved with his parents to Anadarko in 1927. He attended Anadarko schools and entered the service of the regular army with the mobilization of the national guard. Prior to his enlistment, he was employed by the Pure Ice Cream Company in Anadarko. ATWOOD, PVT. EARL - entered the service of the army at Fort Sill July 6, 1942 and is now stationed at Camp Carson, Colo. He attended the Roach School. He is the brother of Mrs. Ellen George and William T. Atwood, both of Anadarko. AUCHIACH, JAMES - has been stationed as an apprentice seaman with the U.S. Coast Guard at St. Augustine, Fla. He is one of the famous Kiowa artists who painted the murals in Anadarko's federal building, in the nation's captal in Washington, D.C. and other public institutions in Oklahoma. At the time of his enlistment he was employed by Cessna Aircraft Corp., of Wichita, Kan. He was inducted in January 1943.Previous to being employed by the art company he was an art instructor at Riverside Indian School. His wife is now employed by the Wichita Company. AUSTIN, S 2c, USN, KENNETH LEE - entered the service Sept. 25, 1943 and took his boot training at Farragut, Idaho. He attended Apache High School and Phillips University at Enid and is the son of former Apache residents, Mr. and Mrs. A.L. Austin of California. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Roy T. Fallin of Fort Cobb. He has been attending a fire controller school in Seattle, Wash. AUTAUBO, EDDIE - 21 Oct 1912 22 Sep 1992 Pfc. U.S. Army buried Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko AXTON, PVT. WILLIAM HOWARD, 37, and PFC. CHARLEY AXTON, 30, are sons of Mr. and Mrs. B.O. Axton of Gracemont. Pvt. Axton entered the service June 4, 1942 and has been stationed at Salt Lake City, Utah. Pfc.
