received Order of the Purple Heart posthumously; born 21-Aug-1925; 
died 04-Apr-1945 in action during the invasion of Okinawa, 
Rhukyu Islands, in the East China Sea; Home: Hinton, caddo co., 
Ok.; Parents: Mr. and Mrs. J.N. Fossett of Hinton; attended Prairie 
View School in caddo county where he was awarded the American Legion 
Citizenship and Scholarship Award in the 8th grade; graduated from 
Hinton High School in 1943; member of the Hinton football team and 
the Future Farmers of America; member of Baptist church.
