He grew up in Binger, Caddo county, Ok. and was raised by his grandparents, Francis and Margaret Williams. He was an enrolled member of the Caddo tribe. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1971, serving in the 82nd Airborne, Special Forces and 173rd Airborne Brigade. He received a National Defense Medal, Vietnam Defense, Vietnam Campaign, Good Conduct, Air Medal, Army Commendation Bronze Star w/v device, Combat Infantry Badge, Parachutists Badge, Expert Marksman Badge, Gunner First Class Badge, Vietnamese Metros Medal, and was an instructor at JFK Special Forces. He was stationed at Ft. Chaffee, Ft. Polk, Ft. Leonard Wood, Ft. McClain, Ft. Campbell, Ft. Banning, Ft. Bragg, LZ English, Bong-Song An-KHz, Plaice and LZ Uplift. After his honorable discharge from the Army he worked at the El Reno, Ok. Correctional Center for the Dept. of Corrections. He later transferred to the Dept. of Defense and worked at Tinker Field Air Force base in Oklahoma City, Ok. until his retirement in 1997.
