Sgt. 1-C Farrell Parton, killed August 31, 1951, near Chupa-Ri, Korea, was cited for assaulting an enemy bunker with hand grenades. His father, Albert Parton, Box 455, Anadarko, received the medal in a ceremony at Fort Sill. The Silver Star also was awarded to a Chickasha soldier. Pvt. Glen R. Yancey, killed September 3, 1950, was cited for attacking single-handedly an enemy machine gun and killing the entire crew. His father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Yancey, of Chickasha, received the medal. The awards were made by Maj. Gen. A.M. Harper, commanding general at Fort Sill.
