The deceased had been an acute sufferer for the past two years but bore his suffering with fortitude. Moses David Sevier was born in Brown county, Ill., Dec. 20, 1847, died at Hinton, Okla., Jan. 13, 1918, age 70 years and 24 days. He was a veteran of the Civil War and was a direct descendant of Gen. John Sevier, of Indian war fame. He leaves five daughters, Mrs. G.G. Kessler, Mrs. Gordon Jones and Mrs. B.A. Long, of Hinton, Mrs. J.W. Eastridge, of Geary and Mrs. R.T. Wheeler of Satsop, Wash., and one son, D.C. Sevier, of Norton, Kans., his wife and one daughter having preceeded him to the great beyond. Funeral services were held at the Christian church, Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Gibble, of Anadarko, after which interment was made in the Hinton cemetery. Those here from a distance attending the funeral were, John White and daughter, Clara, Mrs. Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Eastridge and son, David, Mrs. Edward Ice, Mrs. Roscoe Galloway, all of Geary, Okla., and Private Loys D. Wheeler of 3rd Aero Squadron, Ft. Sill, grandson of the deceased.
