At the age of six months he moved with his parents to Macon county, Mo. Spent four years a soldier in the confederate army; was married to Martha J. Lake, 1871. To this union were born nine children, four of whom precede him to the great beyond. His wife, with the remaining five children and eleven grandchildren, were with him in his last sickness and death. He confessed his faith in Christ and united with the Christian church in 1885, and remained a faithful member until death. He, with his family, came to Oklahoma in 1901 and spent the remainder of his life here. Funeral services were conducted at the Christian church in Hinton Friday, Feb. 15, by Rev. Morgan, former pastor here, after which burial was made in the Hinton cemetery.
