A view of the beautiful and valuable remembrances clearly proclaimed it a golden wedding anniversary, for there was a golden token for each of the fifty years. Prof. and Mrs. Reece were much surprised when remembrances began to arrive, which gave evidence of a wide spread preconcerted arrangement to give them a golden shower upon their fiftieth wedding anniversary. December 18, 1860, in Circleville, O., William Reece and Nannie A. Hanway, daughter of Rev. Samuel Hanway, were married by Rev. A.G. Byers, pastor of the First ME. church of that city.
